Ooooooh I've got so many of these, current & old. >]
It's about time I made a topic so here it is, inspired by the last three (including tonight) friday nights. I thought this would ok to be a topic seperate from the volcanic eruptions threads but if not just merge them or something. X)
These last three friday nights I've gone out of my way (to me going out of the way is going to ONE house, on a friday night, of which is usually a good 15 minute walk to get to) only to find the person is not in after being asked by them to go on the one night of the week I don't want to go out.
The annoying thing is they turn around & go 'I'm home now' having no consideration as to how far it may be for me to walk, the time of night, the fact that my parents may be cooking the evening meal, etc.
I do get my own back on everyone as a whole though - I have a strict no weekend rule, I even leave my mobile turned off. twisted My logic is that I don't earn enough to waste my time on weekends trapsing around when I waste too much time already in the week, you know? You have to put your foot down somewhere.
Anyway I've plenty more odds & sods along these lines but I'll not post them all at once. biggrin

At the end of each month we have to submit a whole bunch of crappy paperwork....
Vehicle mileage form - where we went, start and finish mileage for each day even tho the vans are fitted with a tracker Expense form with receipts Expense justification form - explaining each individual receipt ie item bought: sandwich - reason: for eating (sometimes i really want to put for turning chemical energy into heat energy to maintain body functionality Vehicle condition report - list each individual stonechip and scratch Overtime form test call log sheet meter parking log sheet
grrrr....its soooo frustrating, takes me a whole afternoon to do. evil

Try running a German-made sample warper sometime. rolleyes mad xp It's computerized & I have to convert all the beam widths & warp lengths to metric & the yarn denier to some German version every time I enter a program. And the machine is possessed by evil demons. Sneaky little mischievious evil demons that are constantly creating new problems & quirks to annoy me & mess up my warps. Friday night was really infuriating because I was running a 10-section sample run that they were in a big hurry for. Naturally they gave me nasty little skinner tubes for one of the colors & that section of the warp was misery to run. scream Took way longer than normal & ends broke in bad, problem-causing ways. If they wanted the warp so doggone much, they should've given me better yarn! mad It didn't even have to be very big at all, just not nearly-empty tubes that would only run a couple of minutes before they ran out & had to be changed! Needless to say, the warp is NOT finished, & now will sit all weekend on the drum waiting for the 1st shift operator to deal with it.

I work in Upholstery Textiles. "Warp" is the yarn in any woven cloth that runs the length of the cloth. "Weft" is the yarn that is woven onto it from side to side. Warping machines made huge spools of warp that go down to the weave room to be woven upon. "Ends" is our term for individual yarn strands in a warp. My machine has a huge drum on it's side, and the yarn is spun onto it by the machine. When it's done I roll it off onto a reel, then onto a big beam--like a huge spool--which will be fitted into the looms downstairs.
