Naught but a moment later, a strange sound, like the tapping of fingers across the pages of a book, echoed from her left.. Odd that, seemed close too. Lily ceased humming, turning her head toward the sound barely in time to see that it was a giant beetle charging toward her. Shifting her weight, Lily would attempt to leap from before the oncoming beetle.

Lily Kaelyn: 278 HP remaining.The beetle had been faster than Lily had thought, the hard-shelled insect ramming into her legs. At least half of the damage being absorbed by her leggings. Her shins ached, a dull pain at least in the wake of the small injury. The satchel she carried being dropped to the ground as she gained her footing.
She turned quickly, dashing forward with as much speed as she could muster toward what she hoped would still be the back of the creature's back. At the last moment, Lily leaped, pivoting in the air to land on her left leg while also swinging her right around to catch the beetle on it's backside.

No Dmg!Lily's foot connected with a glancing blow across the beetle's hardened shell, doing next to nothing aside form annoying the insect more. Her foot Found the ground once more, and with a shift of weight, lept backward and into a guard stance.
Following the feel of a foot glancing from it, the beetle shifted it's body around, realligning itself. Once more, the beetle charged forward with an awkward clicking lily took to be close to a shriek for it's kind.

As the beetle raced past, Lily once more shifted her weight, crossed her left leg behind her right as to use her whole body to lash out with her right leg, hoping to catch the insect with more than a glancing blow..

70 Dmg to Giant Beetle: 80 life remaining.A loud snap was the result of this attack. A small chunk of the beetle's own shell had broken, and now showed to be embedded in it's own softer underside.
A sudden, very high pitched shriek emitted from the creature's mouth, proving Lily wrong in her assumption earlier.. Nonetheless, the young Angel once again sought after a defensive position before her opponent reared, and for a third time, charged at the girl.

The lowering of it's body meant little to Lily, but the lurch had been suffecient to offbalance her enough to keep her from landing on her feet. She landed on her knees, her hands shooting out before her to save herself a nice chat with the dirt.
On the rise, however, Lily was ill equiped to dodge the oncoming spray of acid coming from behind her..
