Similar to my Vandread language post, what version of the Big O have you seen? English dubbed or Japanese with Subtitles? To be honest, I CANNOT imagine The Big O in any other version except dubbed. The Japanese version just didn't feel right...

I've never heard Big O in the Japanese Dub. But I really like the English Dub. So my opinion is sorta still incomplete because I've never heard the Japanese one yet.

Watch Big O, the entire season 1, without subtitles in english. Then, in english with the subtitles. Then, do what I do, and whine about how the subtitles are ALMOST perfect.
Then, watch it in Japanese.
I, speak Japanese, so I watch it with subtitles...and it's still kinda off.
So, watch it in Japanese w/o subtitles. Watch them with if your looking to learn something! mrgreen

I've seen parts of the first season in english when it was on cartoon network. I have 2 volumes of the second season that I have yet to watch but when I do it's going to be in japanese.

Personally, I prefer any anime dubbed in English. I don't like having to be distracted by reading what they're saying. When it's subtitled, I tend to pay more attention to the words than the actions and what's going on physically. ^^'
And I really like Roger's voice in English. So when I watched it subbed, even for the short time I did, I wasn't too enthused.

I'm one of those people who generally prefer subbed over dubbed... but Big O is one of the only ones to which I prefer the dubbed. For all those who haven't seen the subbed, you don't have to buy the DVDs. Just get a streamload account and find someone to send you the files. Like maybe if anyone's interested, I could try sending them to someone via streamload. You can get a free limited trial membership, but my basic account is only like 5 dollars a month and you can keep all your animes on there.
