I hadn't really thought about it much actually. The book will be called Harlequin and there will be a preview of it in the paperback version of Danse Macabre (I think).
I think that we may get more hints about the Mother but I don't think it'll go in that deep because we need more build-up about it. Right now we know so little and I think if LKH does it right she can make the Mother completely horrifying to us and she hasn't yet done that.
On the flip side, the Mother may turn out to side with Anita and against the council (who locked her up is that right, I forget?) which would cause all holy hell to break loose if that happened.
I think Anita has a lot of potential and I hope that LKH doesn't just keep piling on the power with her because it can get tiresome.

I'm sure there will be more of Anita's power growing.
I think LKH will bring in more of Belle Morte and the Mother of all Darkness.
They both are far too interested in Anita. One jealous, and the other believes Anita can help her. It's going to be interesting, that's for sure!

the mother wants anita for herself and has stated that if she was fully bound with jean claude that she would just kill anita so i think it is going to be very interesting to see how it unfolds between those two scarey women

Konahamaru the mother wants anita for herself and has stated that if she was fully bound with jean claude that she would just kill anita so i think it is going to be very interesting to see how it unfolds between those two scarey women all i have to say is i hope the next book is bigger ( the last one was good , but small )

i miss the real story this most recent book made me happy. there is always sooooo much sex i miss the police work that she did. i also miss those characers. i would like to see them in the next book as well as the something new. i enjoy reading the growth of the characters when they grow as people. or finding out more about the other wereanimal groups. the books make me more curious about the other things like the meremaids and such tell me if anyone else is curious like i am or send me an oppinion i would love some feed back

It's frustrating when she introduces a lot of really interesting concepts and then just barely mentions them. As for police work... she keeps promising that and Edward. I'm hoping Harlequin will have some... 'cuz Incubus frustrated the heck outta me... she didn't even catch the bad guy! *demands resolution*

read her blog here http://blog.laurellkhamilton.org/2006_08_01_archive.html August 27 i am thinking that she is going to kill 1.Edward(please noo!!!)) 2.Sylvie 3.Cherry or Zane Its all i could think of, she promised not to kill one of the people anita is in love with sad but damnits edward hasn't been in all the books so he aint exactly a main character. but i loved him i was sad when she substituted sex for edward but i can see why she did it, cuz edward would see anita as a monster sad i am thinking edward and anita are gonna have a show down and she is gonna kill him!! sad sad sad sad

I personally think since there is a definate someone getting killed, it's probably one of the cops she's worked with or maybe Larry, he's not around that often anymore.

she almost shifted...her powers are increasing and she doesnt even know the full extent of them all...
she's an emotional wreck using sex to fix and confuse things...violence where sex doesnt work...
i just think it's gonna continue forever...and eventually...after another few books...anita is gonna have to kill everyone she loves and possibly die herself...during a crazy battle...jean claude or someone else turns her to the undead and she becomes a vamp to keep her 'alive' (or w/e you wanna call it)
she then has a hard time coming to terms with the fact that she has to feed not only the ardeur but also the blood lusts...and possibly still the beasts within...
0.o...things are complicated...

The plot is getting way out of hand. Personally I think Hamilton should make another novel like Obsidian Butterfly where Anita takes a break to visit Edward and focus on supernatural crimes. Sure, that might cut back on the sex scenes but personally they're getting old. One or two in each book is fine.

i like the occasional sex scene...but i dont like reading everyother scene where she's battleing with herself on who to do... sweatdrop
i just keep thinking about the graphic novel and the comix and wondering how that's gonna work... sweatdrop sweatdrop
SO MANY POSSIBILITIES...I DONT THINK I CAN HANDLE THE WAIT!!!
