In the thread that were talking about Special Ablities, Kazlyn mentioned living in the front of a graveyard. That inspired me to start this thread.
I live near a graveyard, too. I love them, especially on foggy days. I guess it's because it's so peaceful, and there's no one to disturb you except for dead people. They can't do anything, anyway. Whenever I get a chance to go to the graveyard, I always wonder...Who was this person? What was his/her life like? Why did he or she die? How affected were the people around him or her by the person's death?
I also like to figure out the age by subtracting the years. I just walk around, that's all. Nothing else.
Do you love or hate graveyards? Why? What do you normally do in graveyards? And do you believe in afterlife?
My friends think I'm a freak for this.. sweatdrop

I like graveyards but they make me sad, they're spooky and cool, but then again they're usually so big and that means alot of dead people, and it makes me sad to know that so many people die, i get so sad whenever someone dies, and i always hope that they had a good life.

The only graveyards near to where i live are next to small churches so not very big, but very very old. Quite spooky to see some of the tombstones with inscriptions from 1600...

GrayRayn what do i normaly do in graveyards.... um... hope no one flames me for this but when i'm in a graveyard 9 times out of 10 i'm have sex there.... No, no one is going to flame you for that. Flamin is strickly forbidden in this guild. Plus I have sex in grave yards too.

I love graveyards. I went in one once with one of my closest friends and I find graveyards peaceful. I used to be scared of them, but I soon realized it was the open graves that scared me (my cousin pushed me into an open grave once at night and left me there all night so that's my reason for being terrified of open graves @_@). When I would visit my uncle on Grand Isle, I would always want to go to the park by the cemetary because I enjoyed it. I enjoyed reading the tombstones of the war veterans who died in war from that area, I enjoyed reading the lives of some that had them on the tombstone. I enjoyed the pictures that were placed on some of the grave markers. I still do. I feel at ease in a graveyard because it makes me feel comfortable that when I die, I won't be alone - I'll be with the ones whom I've read about and grew to love somehow even though I never met them. Egh.. I guess its hard to explain sweatdrop

I like graveyards ^_^ They're nice and quiet, and have a somewhat erie atmosphere. Since a lot of people avoid them, you can go they're without being disturbed a lot. As someone who plans to be a archaeologist, I tend to find them quite interesting.
The town where I go to school has a graveyard right next to the ice cream place, so usually I wander around the graveyard while I eat my ice-cream. My friend and I end up chatting about what types of gravestones we want. I've decided: it must have a huge Jewish Star, have something witty written on it, and be painted neon . xd
As for an afterlife, I'm a fairly skeptical person. A scientist at heart I suppose, don't believe anything without hard proof, so I don't hold much stock in an afterlife.

I love graveyards. They seem so peaceful, but I always feel sad when I see a grave that seem grimy and old, as if no one has visited it in years. I just find it sad that some people don't have any family who will visit them in the afterlife. I just hope I will have a familythat will visit my grave when I'm dead.

when i go to cemetarys i go to the oldest section, because there the headstones sometimes have these little ceramic portrait thing. i always like to wonder what kind of life they lived, it makes me sad to think, that probably nobody visits the old old ones and actually knows who they were. its really sad when someones story just kind of ends like that. i wish i could go to more often. i like them alot. its just very awesome. it would be awesome just to go to one and just relax. and the sex in a grave yard sound very fun. but thats just me.

Graveyards are very fun sometimes when it rains i act childish and play in the mud... but other times i find an opening where someone is suppose to be buryed in the ground and i sleep in there for the night (i bring a clock and wake up before the grave digger comes xd which is about 3am) but Graveyards are fun because there quiet and no one can hurt you.. or bother you... soo Graveyards at my #2 in my top 5 favorite things

I love graveyards. They just seem so tranquil. I love to meditate, sketch, read, and just wander while in graveyards. Occasionally somone will see me, and ask me what I'm doing, then most people get creeped out at how I enjoy graveyards so much.
Theres a graveyard by my house, but it's very small (less than an acre) and not so old. Theres another graveyard, a bit further away, yet still within walking distance, and it's huge.
As far as sleeping in an open grave, that sounds fun, I'll have to try that someday.

Graveyards are nice, so quiet and peaceful. I enjoy walking around and looking at the graves of people. Sometimes I cry when I see a baby's grave. Sometimes I'll bring a book and just read my book in a graveyard for hours without people disturbing me.^^

I firmly believe that life is about wondering, so it's always interesting to see a grave with just a name and a date, and wonder what these people accomplished in life. I fear death, and so the graveyard attracts me like a moth to light; it is like walking on broken glass without scratching one's feet, I suppose. It's also quiet and serene enough to sit down and enjoy while still being inspired by the idea of death just underfoot, which is why I often write while I am there. The only payment for this continuous inspiration are the flowers that I place on the old graves.

grave yards are cool btu at times they are quite sad. ive onyl been to a funeral once when i was about two. that whole sex thing in the graveyard sounds exciting and quite fun. biggrin but sadly im still a virgin crying
