Does anybody know some sites where I can find them? They are Japanese lunch boxes, but they can be plastic or wooden and they have designs on them.

I want them for special occasions, and also I am sorry, if I put this in the wrong spot. I didn't know where to put it.

I use this bento box a lot. I got it for my birthday and I just happened to come across it on the net. It's plastic, but it's nice. I take my lunch to school in it a lot.

I also have a bunch of smaller bento boxes from when I was little... I keep jewelry in them now, haha.

If there are any asian stores around where you live, you might be able to find one.

Oh yeah! And Jbox.com has some really cute lolita-ish bento boxes. Like, Hello Kitty and Kiki's Delivery Service. They have traditional-patterened ones, too. They're under "Traditional Japanese Items". There's a lot of pages, so you can either sift through them, or use the search engine.

EDIT: Actually, I was just looking through Jbox and they even have a bento box that's titled "Brilliant Styled Gothic Lolita Delux Bento Box". But I wouldn't call it Gothic Lolita, more sweet lolita. Pinks, whites, and light blues. If I had $36, I'd get it. haha.

YOu can make your own, its really not that hard, and the box could be your own style!

I was thinking about that too... but how? I'm a rather artistically-inclined person (I go to an art high school, anyway. lol) and I can't think of how to really make one.

Unless you're good at making molds and have a place you can go to pour plastic...

or maybe if your good at small woodwork. I like woodworking, but making a seal between pieces tight enough to hold sauces is kinda tough with as thin of wood one would be working with.

PAPER BENTO BOXESSSSS. haha. Actually, if you wanted one you could just throw away, wax some construction paper and make origami boxes. Actually, that's a rather cute idea. I'm gonna go do that now. haha.

You can do a search on google, there are lots of websites with instuctions on how to make your own bento box, but most of them do involve some sort of woodworking, some need bambo..That would be cool, I think.

Its under the side image Traditional items from japan and in that mini list its Kitchen Items, Bento Boxes.

I have a kid's bento set that I got from jbox. I love it because it's cute, green, and the bag has a crab print. Ok, so that may not sound cute, but it actually is. I use it for snacks, and things because it's small.

Making bento boxes sounds like too much work, unless you do it for a living. Those laquered boxes are so pretty. I want a bento set that has a bowl, because I love soup.
