call me crazy but i've found that a lot more girls, over the internet, the ones i know etc. etc. are into rpgs more than guys are, i'm not saying that guys dont play rpgs hell my sister's boyfriend's entire family practically plays them but more to the point i just wonder why heh
i've noticed that boys are more into fps games, for example, one of my friends (who i've known for like 10 years) plays fps a lot more than rpgs and i have to constantly help him with rpgs XD and he can beat/understand fps games 100x faster than i can
so yeah post what cha know

hmm RPGs are more story and plot driven, so maybe that's what girls are attracted to(?) that or the hot guys/girls that seem to exsist in RPGs...
I suppose boys are more attracted to the intense involvement the FPS demand. Also blood*, gore*, and violence. *all depend on what kind of FPS it is.
I have two friends (both guys) and we grew up playing videogames with each other. One is a gun fanatic, so naturally a FPS. The other is... I should say.. more frail, and prefers the RPGs. Both suck at each other's games..
btw, RPGs ftw!! xd

Some enjoy it for the story line, as well as the massiiveness. Also Most of the regulare games are too short and drives away attention than rps.

Hot guys are in RPGs... That and they are just more gun to play. Like you get so devoted to the characters in them, that once you start playing you just have the urge to see what happens next in the story... Hence why I had no life when I was playing TOS. I never left my room unless I was about to pee myself. I heart Zelos! whee

Huh, I dunno. I've actually found that most of the guy gamers I know are very much into RPG's. CONVERSLY, not many females are into FPS and the like, at least that I've seen. Maybe this has somethign to do with the perceived imbalance?

I think guys are more into fast paced action and involvement from FPSs and other real-time games....as opposed to RPGs where you sometimes fight or have to go talk to some person over here then some person over there, go collect some berries for someone...blahblah
I personally play plenty of RPG and FPS and some RTS thrown in there....Lately I've been addicted to Guild Wars (MMORPG) and Disgaea 2 (SRPG) though Battlefield 2(FPS) and such are still fun smile
In my life I kinda went through phases lol...started with Command and conquer (RTS) games for a long time then Tribes 2 and Soldier of Fortune 2 and others (FPS) thenlater it was a mixture of like Halo 1 and 2(FPS) and KOTOR and Fable(RPG), with a dash of other RTS games....and right now as I said its SRPG biggrin ...so addictive....

Most of my guy friends are into FPS, but I have one RPG man. My boyfriend doesn't like most RPGs because of the leveling up process, which "takes forever". Funny how he leveled up Jack in Radiata Stories for me while I was in class *scratches head*.

I don't really agree. A lot of my chick friends only play fps, while most of my guys play rpgs.

Most girls have more patience with RPGs than guys do.
I'm sure there are plenty of guys that can easily stand to take a whole month to level up a character (Final Fantasy X; I leveled up too much in the Omega Ruins and the fight with the boss was so disappointing! gonk ), but most guys play MMOs or FPSs...or Guitar Hero. confused
The minds of men are different than women; it could also be some psychological reason. But I'm just guessing; don't listen to me.

I'm not really into Tom Clancy games or Call of Duty. I'm more into the story, which I get more with RPGs or horror games.

Hm..I've never really seen the difference. I mean, my bf plays rpgs like crazy, but he also likes rhythm games.Then again, he's weird. <3 And my brother loves rpg. And I do have a lot of guy friends that play Zelda or any FF series, etc. Perhaps for some people its a matter of patience and attention span? I'm not sure there's a distinction between genders in that. Though maybe a lot of guys like the speed in games.
