+++ Sugar Fairies +++  Hello there, my name is Ebony. Welcome to the Sugar Fairies Shop ! Although I don't sell the Fairies directly, I can teach how to catch one and will provide you the necessary items you need in order to do so.
But first at all, let me introduce you to the Sugar Fairies, because you probably wonder what are these. Sugar Fairies are tiny beings that live in the nature. You usually can't see them because they made themselves invisible. They generally avoid humans because they are afraid of them, yet they sometimes sneak into houses to steal their all time favorite food, sugar. But they take so small quantities that we never notice it anyway. Sugar Fairies have two shapes. The first one is called Lumen and this is the shape used by the Fairies most of time, as they can travel very fast and made themselves invisible with it. The second one is the actual fairy form. For this one, the appearence of Sugar Fairies is linked to their taste, they wear clothes and accessories that recall their favorite food. If a Fairy's favorite meal is cherries, well you can expect her to have cherry-shaped earrings and wear a red dress for instance. Pure sugar doesn't exist in nature, so they feed themselves with foods that contain it such as fruits, honey, nectar, and the like. Here is an exemple of one that I managed to catch, a strawberry Sugar Fairy (the Lumen look all alike by the way). Isn't she so cute ?^o^
What you need to do to catch a Sugar Fairy is pretty simple. All you have to get is a mere sugar cube. Well not exactly... you need a sugar cube and something I won't tell you about because I'm selling my services. Yep, business is businness XD I'll take a sugar cube and I will turn it into a special sugar cube. You also have to bring a fruit for this. Or anything provided it contains sugar. Even chocolate might work, you never know. Some vegetables and flowers should work too. Also, I've got some special items, which make possible to attract rare Fairies, but we'll talk about that later.
Interested in getting a Sugar Fairy ? ^^ Read carefully the following (in red, parts that need to be RPed) :
Step 1 : First at all you need a 'sugar slot'. These will be auctionned, or or will be available through breeding. Check the Breeding Spot section to see if they are slots that can be bought.
Step 2 :Once you've managed to get a slot, bring me something so that I can make you a FCSC (Fairy-Catcher Sugar Cube) or buy an available item from the rare items section. You are welcome to bring several items and ask for advice of course
exclaim Update ~ Quote: As the number of Fairies keeps growing, and in order to avoid similarities in flavours, I've decided to put some restrictions on Sweet Food/Candy Sugar Fairies (anything that is human-made). Why this category ? Because they are not 'natural' Fairies, and thus other types of Sugar Fairies will have priority. So from now on, the following items are NOT available :
- candies and cakes made from fruit or fruit-flavoured
- animal/item shaped candies
- sweets containing chocolate (however chocolate itself is still available, for now)
- ice creams, milkshakes, mousses, etc
- also things that have not a strong sweet taste (liquorice for instance)
However I'd like to point out that there are exceptions in some categories, although I'm not willing to list them. It's not ALL the candies, etc in the mentionned categories which are concerned but MOST of them. So in any case, if you want a Sweet Food/Candy FCSC, just ask for approval BEFORE Rping for it, that would simplify things. Quote: Please note that you can't reserve flavours, I'll do it only under special cicumstances such as during raffles, etc.

Step 4 : The FCSC doesn't always work (rare items may take some time but will definitely work), so do not forget to check the sugar status in Owners Corner. But don't worry, you'll get a Fairy eventually. Just come back to the shop and I'll give you another FCSC.
Three reasons are possible. The first one is simply that the effect of the FCSC worn off, before a Fairy that like its flavour found it. If your FCSC was made with apple and a Fairy which favorite flavour is banana founds it, she will only nimble some bits and fly away. Second possibility is that the item you gave me to make the FCSC doesn't attract common Fairies. Which either means that it attracts uncommon Fairies or no Fairies at all. Most (but not all) fruit Sugar Faires are widely spread. Flower ones are not particularely uncommon, but live in limited areas, hence they are harder to attract. Vegetable ones tend to be uncommon and therefore you'll probably need several attemps before catching one. If you bring me a fish for the FCSC, I can already tell you that it will be a complete failure *stares* Sugar Fairies don't eat meat and so on. But you can always give a try, of course... I don't know about 'human-made' items, such as sweets and cakes. But I heard that with the growing numbers of big towns, some Fairies became city Fairies, and survive by 'robbering' bakeries and sweet shops. But this need to be proved, and if any of these Fairies exists, it would probably be a very uncommon one. Third reason is that some events that are beyond my control may happen. In any case, your status will be updated so check it carefully.
exclaim If your FCSC doesn't work, you may ask for another one with the previous flavour, or pick something else. But keep in mind that if the item you brought actually attracts uncommon Fairies, you need to keep trying at least a couple of times in a row, if not more. It's up to you to decide if it's worth spending time to get an uncommon Fairy. However, if your attempts fail five times, I recommend trying another flavour for the FCSC. It can also be a strategic choice to get a common Fairy and make it breed to get an uncommon Sugar Fairy.
Last step : Finally, your FCSC has attracted the right Fairy. You know it because you noticed a small white spirit blob thing near it. Now do you best to 'catch' it, not with you hands or anything, but by befriending with the Lumen. You don't need to RP a lot for this, a dozen of line are fine. But of course feel free to RP more than, for the pleasure of RPing. But because the Fairy will decide to stay if she thinks you are a nice person, the way you act is important though. And the dish you used too :3 No Fairy will think you'll ever respect her if you used an ugly or a dirty dish :/ If the Fairy likes you, she will leave her Lumen Form and show her true form.
Hmm, that's all ^^ Just give your Fairy a name. You can carry on RPing with her of course. They may be other features for Sugar Fairies later too, but I can't say it for sure right now.

+++ Ebony's Counter +++ Here is the part of the shop where I'm displaying various items such rare items for FCSCs, premade FCSCs, and from time to time totally random things that are not always linked to the Sugar Fairies...So if you followed me so far, you know that they are common and uncommon Sugar Faeries. Rare Fairies also exist, all Lumen are potentially rare Fairies which means that any Fairy may change her appearance if she taste something new and became fond of it. Rare Sugar Fairies have usually two attributes, one that is common or uncommon, and another which is impossible to get with irl items. Actually these are a sort of 'evolved' Fairies and can be caught only by using a special item. I brought some from my travel in others worlds and I'm selling them here, so feel free to look around. Normal flavours are free, as you bring me the item for the making of the FCSC. However, if you want a rare item, first at all you need a sugar slot of course, but you also need to add 10k. Rare Fairies are pricey but have a more complex design and can breed more than other Fairies too.  Apricat SOLD A funny fruit that goes "mew" when you squish it eek It taste more or less like apricot by the way... Chocopup SOLDThis one goes "woof" when you poke it surprised This strange fruit is made of dark and white chocolate (inside). Regal Pea SOLDA vegetable that shows off with its blue crown xd It's much bigger than your basic pea and has the size of a small apple. Carrot Bun SOLDThis weird thing grows on a bush eek It has carrot bits and some icing on the top too. Angel Kiss SOLDVery soft, has the same weight than a feather. You have the same feeling when you eat cotton candy heart OMG Fruit SOLDThe true name of this fruit is Liquorice Ghost Fruit, but it looks a lot like the Gaian OMG hats eek Coccimato SOLDA rare variety of spotted tomato that both yields very sweet, juicy fruits and keeps plants and agricultural crops free from pests 3nodding Rain Apple It may look like a mere green apple buy you can control the weather with it whee Oran Oran A boucing fruit, sometimes it rolls around and makes weird noises too surprised Polar Pear SOLD From a frosty pear tree that grows only in areas where temperatures are -100 degrees C   Pirate bootle This bottle booty comes from an outstanding plant that produce bottled ginger beer. Except it doesn't like to get eaten at all, hence the skull and crossbones label to scare away any potential drinker  From time to time, premade FCSCs are displayed on the counter as well. Prices may vary, depending on the fact that the item is common or uncommon, but also depending on the fact that if the ingredient used to create it is expensive or not. Also all premades can be played through RP option 1. xXx To purchase a premade FCSC, post in this thread saying which one you'd like to buy, then send the trade. I take any items that is listed in breeding spot as part of the payment by the way. These will be sold when the fancy takes me... Currently as you can see, I have an egg, who know what it could hatch into ? Game : I wonder how many people will see it ninja If you want to take part of it, you just have to post here the word 'splash(es)' and the number of people you think will see the egg, for instance '10 splashes'. Telling others about the game or the meaning of the splashes is forbidden. At the end of the month, the person who guess the right number (or the closest) will win a little something. I was very excited because today was the day that I would set up a place for my new FCSC. Ciruela, Zi and I spent the previous day travelling to Ebony's shop to have it made. I walked into the kitchen and the two fairies were already waiting for me. "Put it here" Ciruela said and pointed to the open kitchen window with the flower box hanging outside of it."Oh! I was thinking outside but I guess that could work too." "Perfect spot!" exclaimed Zi.I giggled at their excitement. I went to the cabinet and took out a small dessert plate. I wiped it off and set it onto the window ledge. I went to the table and picked up the box containing the FCSC. I carefully took it out of the box and set it on the center of the plate. I went to the table again and sliced a small piece out of the grape pie that we made the previous morning. I put the slice on the plate next to the FCSC and took one of the tiny cups out of the cabinet. I filled that with grape juice and set it next to the plate. "Ok girls, we should let it be and see what happens. We don't want to scare a new friends away!" We all went into the family room to work on different projects. Ciruela danced, Zi painted and I decided to read a book. None of us could get our minds off of the FCSC long enough to concentrate on what we were doing.... +++ Breeding spot +++ Sugar Fairies breed during Full Moon Dances (called FMDs for short). They will be held at the shop, in the garden and I'll set up a thread at the guild for those who wants to RP as well ^^
Sugar Fairies can breed but since they are spirits and not animals, the process is totally different. They do a mystic danse during which they use their Lumen form to merger and once they split, new Lumen are created. This event is very energy consuming for them, therefore Sugar Fairies can breed only up to three times (except for rare Fairies who can breed up to five times) and only once a while, during full moon nights. Something even more particular, they can be breed by couple or by group of several Fairies ! The number of Lumen created in this way is quite variable. But I must tell you something, the Lumen won't stay with you ^^; So what is the point of making your Fairy breed ? It will allow others to get a 'flat sale' sugar slot. You may buy one for yourself as well, and you have the priority in this case. And this time catching a Fairy will be much easier for uncommon ones. New born Sugar Fairies have greater chance to like your FCSC as they don't have much experience.
exclaim Breeding is free and any Fairy can participate to the Full Moon Party event. But each sugar slot will cost 50k (you can have a 15k discount the second time you are purchasing a slot).

+++ RP Guidelines +++ You have two options to RP to catch a Fairy, the first one is to put the FSCS in your own house/garden and the second one is to leave it near the shop. The second option will give you the possibility to catch uncommon Fairies with candy/cake/etc attributes and any kind of flower Fairies, which is most of time impossible with the first type of RP (logically the Full Moon Dance happens in my garden, so new Lumen will stay around, and you can't really expect them to travel to your home...). BUT in order to do so, you will have to challenge the Goddess of the Spring first. She is the friend of the Fairies living here, and will let you catch a Fairy only if she thinks that you will be a dedicated owner. More details ~  Option 1 : Catch a Fairy at home
I'd like you to give me some information (it can be done through RP if you wish) :

Option 2 : Challenge Aqualea, The Goddess of the Spring
First at all you need to RP and put the FSCS somewhere here :
Then your first quest will be to find the Goddess, she is in the spring of course but you will need to make her appear.
Quote: Clue 1 : The Goddess is in water but she is also on 'Earth' Clue 2 : Once you find her, you have 'read' something for extra clues
Important : Don't simply go near the spring and wait there, you have to do some action, otherwise nothing will happen.
Once this part is done, you will have to solve her riddles or to complete the quests she'll be giving you. There are different kind of quests and you must RP them in order to clear them (please note that they are not listed in order and you may have other sort of quests as well) :
arrow Solve the Riddle ~ just like the title says
arrow Find the Item Quest ~ Sometimes you have to do the Solve the Riddle game before knowing which item you have to find. The item is always hidden near the shop (ie in the thread) and you'll have to use the location given to RP.
arrow Poems ~ You will have to fill missing words or write one yourself with the words the Goddess give you.
arrow Tell me a Tale ~ The Goddess will give you a theme or a title and you'll have to find the story or invent it.
I know there are sometimes easy ways to complete these, but try to play fair ok ? Otherwise there's not much pupose to play these games. Also you can summon the Goddess only once a day. And don't forget to keep an eye on your FCSC status.
Hygiene and Beauty ~
Sugar Fairies are very clean. They hate mud, dust and garbage. Having a fountain or a water spot like a well or a pond near you house would be a good idea, as they love to wash themselves often and play with water. They also love anything as long as it is clean, cosy, pretty or natural.
Language ~
Sugar Fairies use telepathy to communicate with other Sugar Fairies and magical creatures. They can also talk to other animals an go well with them, with some exceptions like small carnivores (weasels, etc) and birds of prey. They can also use human languages, however they don't master it very well and make some mistakes. They usually have the same amount of vocabulary than 5 to 7 year-old children and speak with simples, shorts sentences. However when living with a human, they can learn more of course. Yet they often don't understand abstract things. If you tell them that it is raining cats and dogs, they will go and look outside if such a wonder is possible. But if you explain to them what it means, they'll understand. Still they will find it very funny and you can expect them to sing "it's raining cats and dogs" the rest of the day. They love long and/or complicated words or phrases and like to repeat them whenever they can. There's things they will never understand though, like politics or maths, they'll just look at you with their big eyes wondering what you are talking about.
Sugar Fairies have a soft, musical voice. They love to sing and to giggle a lot as well. They may be quite shy at the beginning but once they'll know you, they can turn into regular chatterboxes (it can depend of course, each Fairy as her own personnality).
Rare Fairies ~
The Fairies that will evolve into a Rare Sugar Fairy are usually from types that are already 'rare' in the nature such as Vegetable or Candy/Sweet Food Fairies. The reason for this is that the latter are the ones that are usually temerarious and sometimes even cheeky (the average Sugar Fairy is quite shy and discreet). Rare Fairies make natural leaders. The fact that the Regal Pea Fairy didn't hesitated to fight against moths or that the Chocopup Fairy had taken a much shyer sister under her wing are good examples.
Therefore Rare Fairies can be friends but if living together, they may not go along that well and this is especially the case if their rare attributes are conflictual by nature, a Fairy with a bird attribute and another with a bug attribute won't make good friends for instance.

+++ Random Things Corner +++ eek Where and when it happened : During the shop opening auction, starting from page 11. ninja What happened : - Emi baked cupcakes - Caroline_cupcake caught a Fairy with a FCC (Fairy Catcher Cupcake) made by yours truly   Cupcake recipe (picture by caroline_cupcake) : Quote: Preparation Time: 15 minutes / Baking Time: 20 minutes / Yield: 24 cupcakes Ingredients : - 2 cups counter flour - 2 tsps. baking powder - 3/4 tsp. salt - 1/3 cup soft margarine - 1 cup granulated sugar - 1 medium egg - 3/4 cup milk - 1 tsp. vanilla extract - 1/2 tsp. lemon rind 1. Grease and flour just the bottoms of cupcake tins, or buy packaged paper liners for cupcake tins. 2. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. 3. Cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy, then beat in egg. 4. Fold in flour and milk alternately beginning and ending with flour. 5. I'll take these but with moderation. If you are a talented artist and are ok to do OC art, I'm even more interested. I've never been a hectic pet collector like some Gaians anyway :3
Please note that I have the right to turn down offers. Don't be offended, it's nothing against your pet/art, I just might be too busy to do an extra Sugar Fairy or the pet you want to trade is not really my type. Also I won't take any pet that requires mandatory RP (unless listed) and any pets that need to be care of (i.e. that will die if I don't feed it and so on or won't evolve etc). I just don't have enough time for these.
Pets I will consider trading for :
- a custom Caith ~ Got a Four-Saddle Puffer one at a FS eek heart
- a Pocket Pigmy?
- a (tako) Go Go Sushi ~ won it at the design contest whee heart
- a Tree Baby
- possibly others, as I'm not really aware of all the pets here, you may have a nice one and I don't know about it ^^
