Has anyone been to Otakon? If so, did it cost anything to get in? I'm planning to go to it in the summer of 2k7. If anybody has any information on how much it costs to get in or an idea of how much things cost, please let me know.
If anybody has been to any conventions other than Otakon or Otakon, feel free to tell us what happened and what all you did. You get a free chance to bragg. And if you've met any of the gundam VAs at the conventions or cosplay or w/e that concerns conventions. Just bragg away and share experiences and help me plan my trip.

My GF wants me to come to Otakon...or at least she did earlier. I dunno now, things are all over the place.
I usually attend Anime Weekend Atlanta. It's pretty fun; rather than being the place where lots of announcements and revelations are made, it's just for anime fans to chill and have fun. The past couple of years we've had FMA cast members come by, and they've been awesome. Plus I got to personally thank Dean Venture for all his hard work on Gaogaigar.

Any clue if there's an entrance fee to Otakon?

The only fee is for the badge; once you're registered, you're in. I dunno how strict Otakon is about badges, tho. At the con down here, they only really check to see your badge at the concerts and the dealer room.

You guys are so lucky! Closest i'm going to get to a cospay convention is the halloween party at my school this Friday. I'm cosplaying Anna Kyoyama from Shaman King. Had the black dress in the closet, bought a yard of red cloth for the bandana and had her spirit beads custom made by my jeweler. I'm missing the bracelet but it's a minor detail. Are you gonna cosplay at Otakon or Halloween, Oreasa?

Either, Sailor Saturn, Sakura from Naruto, or Duo, or maybe steal your idea. I've cosplayed at a Halloween party before. It was a homemade Sakura (Naruto) costume. I made it myself out of an old Christmas outfit. I'll see about scanning a pic of it if my friend still has pictures from that party.

It's right before the pic of your kitties! I saw it. You did great on it. I can't say I could have done as well. I didn't cosplay this Halloween. I went to school with a five foot black wig, a black short dress, black Tripp gloves with chains and black vinel hooker boots. The yearbook had to get a picture of it. The only things missing that I didn't want to wear was the cape and fangs. Thought, I'd get in trouble. There was a guy cosplaying as Alphonse Elric after he got his body back at school. He called me Rapunsel gone goth. It was fun yesterday. For the first time in those heels I fell down the stairs too. I was paying too much attention to keeping people from stepping on the wig.

I see a whole lot of Duo cosplayers at Ohayocon. I havn't seen a single Heero, and it makes me sad. There've been a couple cardboard gundams too, and they made me giggle. Favorite thing to do at anime conventions though, is pick up models cheaper then getting them at places like hobby shops. Waaay cheaper from convention vendors. Hopefully soon I'll get a perfect grade... walking around with that giant box is bound to be fun.

I want to make a good-looking Gundam costume, not one that's obviously cardboard. I'm currently bobbling between Wing Zero Custom and God Gundam (which would give me an excuse to move like a human). Either way, I want to do somthing a little sneaky and make miniature cockpits with re-painted GI Joes for the pilots.
