Roho'wa Mamake clambered out of the tickling grasses onto a small boulder, claws scraping against the stone to give him purchase as he pulled himself up onto the very top. His little cub chest heaved with slightly laboured breaths. The sun was not quite at its zenith yet, but he had already been up and about and running for hours. Chasing insects and small animals, sometimes his own shadow, sometimes a fallen leaf or a drifting cloud. He liked to run; it was one of his favourite things to do.
He more flopped than sat on the rock, a yawn splitting his maw. He'd been up early, then he'd tuckered himself out, and so he was understandably tired now. But Roho did not want to sleep. He wanted to run, to leap, to play. Now he wished he hadn't left his brothers and sisters behind this morning. One of them would have surely played with him now!
He flung his dark eyes about in searching, as if the thought of them could bring one of them into view.

Mia was somewhat at ease, her gentle bounds bringing her unknowingly closer to her brother. She'd spent little time thinking about her mothers death, though the thought often plagued her dreams. Contentment was almost a thing of the past, the images were violent, and bathed in scarlet.
She'd shut her eyes during the fight, but still had a fleeting glimpse of her mothers body, and the sounds of the fight she could remember all too well. Her brother, he poor blinded brother. So many people were hurt that day, and Daddy. He was still... greiving, she'd heard that word from him alot recently, it was his excuse for his bitter behaviour, but he was pulling himself together for his family.
Her older sisters and brothers had intruiged her, and she hoped to see them again soon. She'd heard of another, one that hadnt left and one that still lived here. Malaika, her name was mentioned by her father frequently.
Mia was learning, and still utterly fascinated by the concept of numbers, she spent alot of her time counting and experimenting with simple sums. It seemed she'd inherited her fathers intelligence, aswell as his deep maroon eyes.
Suddenly she spotted the golden form of her brother and approached him with a smile. He was the one that looked so much like mother. It was bothe painful and comforting to look at his pelt. His eyes were also a source of comfort, the same deep red as hers.
"Roho..."

Roho was perhaps extremely lucky. While the images of the horrific day he lost his mother were still with him, they did not haunt him too terribly. He hadn't been able to close his eyes to the carnage, but he was lucky in the fact that such sights were not forever imprinted on the backs of his eyelids to terrorise him whenever he closed them. That's not to say, though, that he did not have his share of nightmares, because he did. He suspected all of those who had been present did, though it wasn't the sort of thing he would just ask of others. Thinking of them was both upsetting and scary for him; he imagined it was for the rest, too.
At the soft call of his name, his ears swivelled to the sound a second before his head turned. His tail flicked out in delight and a grin split his maw. His sister! His wishing for someone to play with had come true!
"Mia!" he called back happily, making to climb down off the boulder, but instead only managing to fall off it, landing in the grass with a light thud. He yelped, more from surprise than pain, and opened his eyes after they'd closed for the impact.
His brows knitted together as he saw that he had somehow developed a tuft of pale cream fur in the space of seconds, dangling between those red-brown eyes, and they cross as he focuses on it. Of course, this was his tail tuft, but he didn't quite realise that. No, Roho was not quite on the same intelligence level as Mia, though his sweetness made up for it with oodles to spare.

Her brow furrowed as she watched her brother fall, and she dashed foward to his aid. Peering at the crumpled mess of her brother her eyes widened. "Roho, are you alright?" She asked sweetly.
Her sweet brother, he was so... stupid... wasn't exactly a positive word, so instead she chose to describe him as dopey. Mia loved him all the same. Pawing at the tail tuft over his head she giggled lightly. "It's your tail silly..."
The chocolate cub reclined, curling tightly though her head was still within sight and her gaze fixed on her brother. "What are you up to?" She counted quickly in her head, adding up the days she'd recorded that she'd been here. Lets see. A week, maybe two? She yawned.

[Soooo incredibly sorry. @___@ I'm dealing with a lot of... stuff. Trying to be here as often as possible, though.]As his sister pointed out the true nature of his sudden 'growth', the golden cub flushed under his shiny fur, looking somewhat abashed. "Oh," he said quietly, with a sheepish smile as he managed to arrange his body into a more comfortable lying position, putting his tail under one of his hind legs so it could not fool him again.
He contemplated her question for a moment, before shrugging his shoulders. What had he been doing? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Nothing of interest, anyway. Just running for the sake of it. "I was just 'sploring a little bit," he said, trying to make his day so far sound at least mildly interesting to his smarter sister. It wasn't an entirely untrue claim, either. He remembered most of the scenery between here and home and felt certain he could find his way back when he needed to. Of course, with his criss-cross running across the grasses, it'd probably take him twice as long as usual, as his recollection would likely not go in a straight line. "What have you been up to?"
