A young cub pearched happily in teh short branches of a scrub tree, his claws dug deep into it's fleshy bark and his mind wandered. He spent much time with his mother, who even if she didn't say it didn't like him much, and his father never spoke. His fur was white and creamy, not reflecting any of his family.

The day was bright and the clouds drifted lazily across the sky, a soft breeze pushing them, the trees, and grasses. He felt alive when he snuck away from the crowd, it made him feel like he was a rebel, someone who could do anything.

Little Kubwa was also quite infatuated with stories of the rain from afar, his father did not speak much, but he did speak of the rain gods. The gods were what kept his attention, he could care less about the rain falling from the sky, that happened almost on a daily basis. He wanted to be able to fly, wanted to feel the air in his fur.

His grip slipped for a moment and a long yelp escaped his lips, "HELP!"

Despite any warnings he'd heard, Wahabu was out and about yet again. Today he had a nice white feather tucked behind his ear, the gift from K'Anatak that he'd decided to keep with him- and only found a good place for thanks to his mother. He was making a game out of it, as usual. Sneaking around and chasing bugs when he saw them. Rare were the times he actually caught the bugs, but he was sure he was improving at it. He eyes were narrowed on a shiny beetle when a strange sound reached his ears.

"Huh?" he blinked, lifting his head and looking around. The beetle flew away, but he didn't really think that was important- it sounded more like someone was calling for help. Looking back and fourth frantically, he couldn't see anyone right away- until he saw something bright standing out in a tree.

"Wow," Wahabu blinked and ran towards the tree. It had to be who had called out, there was no one else around!

Kubwa looked up at the cub that had come rushing towards him and completely lost his grip, tummbling to the ground in slow motion. Falling, like dreaming was the white cubs specialty. He looked up at the yellow cub excitedly, he looked about his age.

"Hello," Kubwa grunted trying to repostion himself so that he could see the other cub clearly, "Are you going to hurt me?" Kubwa's eyes were glazed and off kilter from falling, he saw the yellow and blue cub through doubled vision.

Wahabu gasped and flinched when he saw the other cub come tumbling from the tree, luckily it didn't look like he'd gotten hurt. Wahabu merely stared at him with wide eyes, until he was asked the strangest question he'd ever been asked- or, strangest in his opinion.

"Wh-what? No!" he blinked, shaking his head dramatically before remembering that the white cub had just fallen from a tree, "Are you ok?"

"Mum always says to ask, she is really protective of me and Kip, Kip is my brother," he giggled softly and stood shifted again this time into a sitting position. "I'm Kubwa," he grinned cheesily. His vision had begun to clear and he noticed the feather in his new acquatance, "Did you kill a bird for that?"

He gestured with his forepaw to the soft white feather. Kubwa's family was entirely brown, white things attracted his attention, he wished he knew someone that was pure white, or someone that looked like him. Little did the white cub know, he had an uncle that looked exactly like him, leading to his fathers need to protect him so strongly, and also made his father cry when he wasn't looking.

"Who're you?" he added thinking how rude he must sound.

"I'm not going to hurt you, I wouldn't hurt anyone!" He puffed up a bit, shaking his head again. If anything, Wahabu was the one that would be hurt- but he wasn't about to tell the other cub this. He was cautiously optimistic he had found a friend his own age based purely on the fact that the white one had felt threatened instead of threatening him.

"A bird?" he blinked, not knowing what the other was asking about for a moment. Then he clued in that he had a feather on his head and he grinned, shaking his head yet again, "Nope! I got that from my friend, he has lots of feathers- he's a god."

Introductions hadn't even occurred to Wahabu, the conversation was just so easy to jump into. He grinned and nodded politely, "I'm Wahabu, who're you?"

"thank goodness--wait! YOU know a GOD?" Kubwa jumped to his feet looking like a hare in a race excitement over comnig him. His new friend, Wahabu knew a GOD! "P-pleasure to meet you Wahabu," he minded his manners.

"You cannot know a real god, was he pretending? My father says that there are many gods, that is when he talks," Kubwa thought of his very quiet father, Mvumo was not much of a story teller. Maybe Wahabu had some stories for him? Kubwa looked at the world as a constant place to learn an excel, maybe someday he'd be like a god...that was his true goal.

Wahabu laughed at the reaction he got from knowing a god, puffing up proudly. He too thought of was exciting that he was friends with a god- and not just one god but two gods! Oh, how he might react if he found out he was a demi-god himself.

"He was real," he proclaimed confidently, nodding firmly, "They both were real gods."

Ok, so he was showing off a little bit, but it was rare he met someone his own age and friendly. And this really seemed to interest this other cub, who hadn't introduced himself. Wahabu made a face, "What's your name? You didn't say."

"Two!? Really, what were they gods of," he remembered Mvumo speaking of the rain god and the lightning god. His father never really spoke of where he was actually from, and Kubwa was someday determined to figure that out, at all costs infact.

"I did say my name," he blushed and the red streamed through his fur, "I must have been mummbling, I am Kubwa, it means 'my brother.'" He did not know why he was named such a thing, and this was another one of those rare things he needed to ask.

Kubwa only had one other friend, Zuri, and she was older than he was. He wasn't always allowed out very often, and the way he felt in the tree carried over, he was a rebel, maknig friends outside of the family.

"Kubwa," he repeated brightly, "It's nice to meet you." Wahabu had never asked what his name meant, but would be even more pleased to hear that it meant 'god of love.' He too had some question about why Kubwa had a name that meant 'my brother,' but he didn't ask. Now that their introduction was complete, he was more comfortable jumping right back into the conversation. His arrogant grin returned.

"Lonliness and Reflection," Wahabu replied about the god's domains, "They're both pretty white, but I'm sure gods can be more colorful. I dream about more colorful ones sometimes."

"Those do not sound like interesting domains. If I ever meet a god I want them to be like god of strength, or flying, or birds..or anything! As long as they're neat and interesting," his eyes twinkled, they were his best feature, at least he thought so. He liked the darker part of himself.

"Do you think mortals can become gods? I want to be a god someday.." his voice trailed off, he didn't really think it was possible, but that didn't stop his dreams. He would have to ask a god themselves if it was posible, he wasn't sure his new friend would know the answer to his question.

"My mum is like a goddess, she's beautiful," he blushed thinking of his light brown mother, shewas the closest he'd come to a goddess. She was afterall his best friend, but maybe Wahabu could fix that.

"They are!" Wahabu blurted out defensively. He didn't want anyone to say those kinds of things about his friends, he thought they were great domains to have. "They help lions, they're as good as strength or flying or birds," his voice fell a bit, he didn't really want to argue with Kubwa. With a frown, he shook his head.

"I- I don't know," he shrugged, "I never thought about it before. Maybe, I'll ask when K'Anatak comes back to visit me!" He nodded, puffing up again as he showed off by mentioning his god friend yet again. Then he listened to Kubwa compare his mother to a goddess and grinned inwardly.

"I had a dream where my mama had wings, just like a god," Wahabu nodded proudly, "What does your mama look like?" He tilted his head curiously.

Kubwa was in awe of his new friend's aquaintances and was going to have to run home later and tell Kip all about this, although he wasn't sure if Kipanya would want to hear any of it.

"I didn't mean to offend, it's just my father always tells me of the gods of rain and thunder, and even lightning. MY father comes from far away, and he came here to meet my mommy," he beamed thinking of his perfect family. Of course he didn't know that his mother secretly didn't want him anymore, wanted him to stay in her womb forever, "if you find out, would you tell me?"

"My mommy is all dark and light brown with blue eyes and a dark blue tail, she's beautiful, I look nothing like her...or daddy..or brother..--Maybe your mom is a goddess too! Maybe they're hiding it!" He wanted to get away from the color difference.

"Oh," he murmured in reply to the assurance that he didn't mean to offend him. Wahabu had not heard of the gods of rain, thunder or lightning but agreed that they sounded interesting. "I'll tell you if I find out," he agreed with a firm nod and smile. The smile suddenly faded and was replaced by a thoughtful look, it seemed like maybe he knew you couldn't.

"Waaait," he murmured, "A-Athrun said you don't need powers to be helpful, maybe he meant I couldn't get them.." It probably didn't make sense to Kubwa, but it sounded like Wahabu knew what he meant by it. He looked back up at Kubwa at the idea of their mothers being goddesses in hiding, wrinkling his nose at the idea- it hadn't really crossed his mind to suggest his dreams were right about the wings.

"I don't think I follow, but I don't think I need too," he smirked knowing his friend probably had the answer to his question. He really didn't think his mum was an actual goddess, she was just what he thought a goddess would be, kind and loving. Kubwa was very sentimental when it came to his family, if something happened to them he did not know what he would do.

"Athrun?" He asked quietly and shifted his weight so that he could sit comfortably (Like our favorite red panda lion! >.>)
