Neveah had a plan, oh yes she did! It revolved around girls. And Zasalamel. And Zasalamel around girls. She called it "Operation get Zah to be unafraid of the female gender!" OGZUFG for short. Of course, she had yet to be able to pronounce it...but that was a minor detail. The best she could come up with so was was "Oog-zoo-fug".
Of course, this plan called for a girl. Preferably a girl that Zah had already met. Well, only two girls came to mind: Kishi and Kay. For the sake of Zah's little brain, Neveah went for the girl that Zah had already been in contact with a few times...so that meant Kishi.
A short call to Malen later, and Kishi was on her way!
"Now Zah, Kishi's coming over and I want you to be nice." Neveah told the Drow, holding the boy under his arms and at arm's length. "No screaming or ignoring her or being subdued, understood?" Neveah was able to look straight into his glowing purple eyes this way, and she had them locked with hers.
Zah, who had been chewing on his knuckle and staring wide-eyed at the butterfly woman since she picked him up, nodded very slowly. This seemed to satisfy Neveah for she put him down on his feet. Of course, Zah's attention moved from his mother to the door, and his poor knuckle was still at his mouth's mercy. He really didn't mind Kishi, but his Mother made it sound like she was the end of the world or something!
Now all he had to do was wait.

"Are you sure he's going to like them ?" Kishi asked her grey eyes skeptical as they looked at her father. Them reffered to a basket of spider shaped cookies that the father daughter duo had baked earlier. Kishi had ice them alone using orange, black and purple icing a show of Halloween and Zah's colours. Still the girl was skeptical about whether or not her friend would enjoy the treat.
Malen smiled down at his daughter as they approached the door " At the vary least I'm sure he'll eat one just becuase you made the effort to make them. If all else fails Neveah can have them."
Kishi was still not certain about that and still somewhat worried that her friend no longer liked her since he'd been somewhat indifferent to her at Kay's party. Still she had to hope they were still friends so she knocked loudly on the front door and waited.

Zasalamel started at the sound of the knock, his eyes widening and his teeth biting down on his knuckle, hard. There he was staring at the door, and it was being hit! He looked back into the house pleadingly, until Neveah's voice rang from the twin's room. "Zah, get the door!"
Wiping his slobbery hand on his sweater, Zah toddled to the door and put all of weight into opening it, and even more of it into opening the door wide eough for the people to get in.
"Echk!" He greeted, one hand still on the door handle and the other waving. He was staring up at the two, especially the girl. "Keyshee?" He burbled out, chewing on his knuckle again. For a moment, he looked kind of irked...she was bigger than he was again! But that look disappeared when he noticed what she was carrying, nd instead looked curious.
"Zah, don't forget to step away from the door!" Came Neveah's voice from the back again. Oh, yeah. Zah stared around him and realized he was in the middle of the door, making it impossible for them to get through. Grinning as though nothing was wrong, he stepped aside and let Kishi and her Dad come in.

From her newly grown perspective Zah seemed so much smaller to kishi than before, She was usually a bit older than him but this time the difference in their size and ages seemed huge. Not that Kishi minded really becuase she could always understand and play with Zah and that was what mattered.
As she stepped in and noticed the look Zah was givng her basket she grinned " Hi Zah, I made cookies for you I hope you like them." At the she reached into the basket and pulled out a cookie sporting a black body and purple eyes."If you don't like them I'm really sorry." Kishi truly hoped the effort she'd put into helping make the cookies from scratch wouldn't go to waste.
Malen grinned at the young boy " Hey there Zah I haven't seen you since you were a baby and it looks like you've grown some since then. I hope you're being a good kid and not causing your mother too much trouble."

Zasalamel's purple eyes shot back up to Kishi once she explained the basket. "Kookiehs?" He repeated, struggling with the word. Apparently, there was no such thing as "cookie" in his vocabulary; though he did like to eat them. Reaching up, Zah did take the cookie, but he stared at it for a few minutes. This looked different from the other foods he'd ever had before!
"Bel'la dos, Keyshee~" Grinning at Kishi, he bit down on one of the spider's legs, letting the cookie dangle from his mouth. Then, scooting behind then, put his body weight into closing the door. He was about to answer Malen when Neveah came sliding into the main room, her aqua eyes wide.
"Zah, what did you say to Kishi?!"
"Bel'la dos" Zasalamel peeped out, looking confused. Was he wrong?
"Nonono, before that! When she gave you something!" She seemed...excited.
Zah thought about it for a moment. "Kookiehs?" He repeated, still struggling with the word. Neveah only stared at him, then jogged over, picked him up, and gave him a BIG hug.
"Your first ENGLISH word! I'm so PROUD of you!" She proceeded to smother the boy with nuzzles. After a moment or two she let the Drow go, and he immediately scuttled over to Kishi to hide behind her. His Mother was SCARY like that! Unfortunately, he'd lost his cookie in the ruckus.
"Oh I'm SO glad you two came over! Malen, that was Zah's first english word! Thank you Kishi for making him speak English! And he's a pain in the butt, Malen. But I still love him." Neveah as like a kid at christmas; and she was talking pretty fast.

As Kishi watch Neveah's reaction to Zah's speech ( Part of which she didn't understand but figured was thank you) she tried to remember what her own first word had been. As far as she knew she'd always spoke English so there was no difference between her first word and first in English. With a shrug she gave up and decided she'd ask her father later.
Once her dark skinned friend was hiding behind her she shook her head and turned to face him presenting the whole basket to him this time " I made them just for you but you can share with your mom if you want." There were two dozen cookies in the basket so it was probably a good idea if he did.
Kishi then looked over to Neveah briefly " Your welcome , I was happy to come and I'm glad he can talk so I understand him now."
" Ahh well if he gets to be too much trouble you just send him to me and I'll straighten him out." Malen said winking at his fellow guardian. " It's a pleasure to be here by the way, I would have brought you a treat as week but I didn't have quite enough time."

Kishi's cokies made everything better! Zasalamel forgot about his crazy mother and lightly took the basket from her, though he wobbled a bit on unsteady feet. "Bel'la dos, Keyshee~" He keened out again, obviously in a good mood. "Kookiehs, Keyshee?" Apparently unable to grasp the 's' at the end meant the word was plural, Zah tok a cookie from the basket and offered it to her.
"Hah, good luck understanding him. He speaks nothing but Undercommon...well, except for 'Cookie'. But whatever." Neveah, though chuckling, seemed slightly frustrated by that fact...or at least she was hiding her frustration well enough to only make it seem slight. Turning her attention back to Malen, she urged them deeper into the house. "Wel, I might be sending three boys over instead of the one...but don't think I won't take you up on that offer!" Attempting to be a good hostess, Neveah guided Malen to the living room, where it was more comfortable. "It's okay, I'm more I'll end up eating Zah's cookies anyway...so, how've you been?"
There was a gasp from the main hall, and Zah tightened his grasp on the basket. These were his cookies!

" Thank you zah" Kishi said licking her lips a bit, her father hadn't allowed for her to eat the cookie dough and she wasn't sure she'd be getting any of the cookies she'd made for her friend. As she took the cookies she winked at Zah who was now worried about said cookies safelty " Don't worry Zah I'll help you protect the cookies."
Not that Kishi would actually dare to hit Neveah nor could she with her father holding her wand. Still she'd do her best to persuade the guardian not to take away Zah's treats.
Malen carefull sat on a couch (after checking for spiders first) and smiled at his hostess." Send me all the boys you like, boys I can understand, girls" he shrugged " I just hope to do my best with Del, Kishi and Kay."
"I've been doing ok, spending more time training these days, more species popping up on gaia means more scum and thus more jobs. I'm only one man and I'm only human , keeping up isn't as easy as it used to be." Malen was starting to wonder if it was maybe time to retire before he seriously hurt himself. He could spend the rest of his life helping Ianna and training the various kids who wandered through HQ.

Oh, Zah wouldn't hit Neveah either...but they were his cookies, and he'd probably just whine to make her stop. Instead, he grinned at Kishi; and he'd have help from another girl-figure, yay! Pushing the basket over to hide behind one of the couches (it was a safe place, according to him), Zasalamel took a handful of Kishi's pant leg and urged her forward, pointing down the hallway. That way, he wanted to go that way!
If she followed him, he took her down the hallway, peeking into one room that had one big cradle in it; and the sounds of three softly breathing critters filled the room. Giving the room a curious look, and also sticking his tongue out at the cradle itself, Zah went back into the hallway. Of course, he ended up going into the pitch black attic; his bedroom now. He was rather pleased with the room, and his eyes began to glow lightly in the dark as he ran over andjumped on his bed. BED. He had a big boy bed now! No walls!
"I don't understand either gender, so...Hurray for you?" For a moment, she considered his words. "Well, its Gaia...I'm sure if you looked hard enough, you might find a place that'll make you NOT human." Hey, she was trying to be helpful? Sort of? Whatever. "Anyway, Tea? Coffee? Water? Oh, by the way, if an Elf walks through here, don't be surprised. I've been housing an Elf Woman and her Unicorn child for a while now, its kind of fun~"

Kishi had smiled when they'd briefly stopped in the cradle room. There were no babies in her house anymore and that made her sort of sad. Kishi liked babies becuase they were smiley and friendly or atleast Artemis and Zah had been nice babies. Still sleeping babies were probably best left sleeping.
Once in Zah's room Kishi wished she'd taken her wand from her father. Zah might be able to see in the dark but she couldn't well not perfectly anyways she could make out the edges of shapes enough to nagivate but she had a feeling from the carefree way Zah jumped about that he see in the darkness like she saw in the light.
"Your room is huge Zah much bigger than mine" She said with a slight hint of jealousy in her voice before finishing off her cookie. " What do you want to do?"
Hmm? I'm rather fond of being human but thanks for the idea, tea would be lovely whatever brand you prefer as well." Malen loved tea and wondered flavour he would receive here." I'm glad you're enjoying yoru house mates and remeber where I live nothing surprises me."

Zah wasn't sure what to think of his younger brothers and the unicorn baby but...ah well. They were apparently his siblings now for good.
It never occured to him that Kishi might not be able to see...so he never did anything about it. Instead, he looked around his bedroom and shrugged. "Ulu jatha'la, mayoe..." He mused when he shrugged, swinging his legs to they repeatedly hit the side of his bed.
"Jivvin? Uhm...Vel'bol Keyshee ssinssrin ulu jivvin?" He keened out curiously, staring at Kishi, or what he knew to be Kishi's heat signals, from across the room. He didn't know what to play, but maybe Kishi did!
"Tea it is, then." Neveah chuckled, disappearing into the kitchen for a moment, then returning once the kettle had been plugged in. "That's true...but I don't think I've ever mentioned having a renter in the house, so I guess I was just giving you a warning." She shrugged a bit, then leaned back in one of the chairs.

Kishi had no clue what her friend was saying aside from her name so she went on gut instinct. She thought he was asking what they were going to play. Of course she could be totally wrong and he could be tryign to warn here about the girl eating spiders who lived above her head. Still she went with her first instincts.
Spreading her wings wide she grinned at Zah " Want to wrestle?" Kishi couldn't make out any blocks or other play toy in the room but she did see lots of open space good for rolling around on. Wrestling was also fair to both them them becuase while Kishi was bigger and weigh more Zah saw better in the dark and could wriggle out of her grip. Besides she also had huge wings which were a disadvantage.
Malen nodded "Very true I appreciate the warning." He looked closer at the butterfly woman searching for signs of stress " Are you feelings better these day? Getting more rest and food?" Malen considered himself somewhere between nosey and mother henish

"Malar?" He repeated, curiously. Zah stared at Kishi then, his eyes glancing to her much larger wings as if he were sizing them up. "Ah, Jugare!" He agreed with a grin. Obviously, he'd forgotten that Kishi was a girl...since he had no qualms about ducking off of his bed and crouching low to the ground to stalk towards her. So far, he was keeping a safe distance.
He was good at wrestling, he wrestled with Neveah occassionally (and he kept losing, too...but she was his mother so it was okay to lose to her)...and Kishi was closer to his size anyway.
Neveah sighed. "No...And Yes. Its easier now for me to things like understand Zah, since the elf that lives with me has some grasp on Undercommon...but since I have Zah AND twins to care for, and occassionally a unicorn girl...its stressful." The butterfly flopepd down on the couch, running her fingers through her two-toned hair as if it calmed her down. "I'm not built to be able to cope with all this stress, nevermind actually taking care of them and myself at the same time..."

Unlike Zah, Kishi could only bring herself down to the ground a little without riskign scrapping her wings on the floor. Still she crouched as much as she could and scuttled towards the younger child.
Suddenly she lunged wings spread wide, though her wings weren't really strong enough to stop Zah if he tried to push past them. That and the Drow could always slide under them, still if she made herself seem huge she might intimidate her friend long enough to grab him.
Malen shook his head " You need a serious Vacation, even for another weekend just drop all the kids off with a sitter, head to a spa and relax, if you don't mind traveling all the way to Earth can reccomend a rather nice one." Malen tried to imagine his parent's reaction to Neveah.
" Just out of curiosoity what is your species generally like, what do they normally do? you said you're not built to handle this kind of stress is that a personal or gentic thing.?"

Zah watched Kishi crouch down, and again turned his gaze to her wings...it was like having a full blockade of girl infront of him! He'd never touched Kishi's wings before, so he didn't know they were flexible enough for him to get past. He just thought they'd smack him or something. Then, Kishi dived at him.
Unfortunately, Zah's reflexes weren't as refined as Kishi's yet...and the best he could do was throw himself to the ground, hoping to get under Kishi's grasp and not trapped in it.
"I've been to Earth before...it hurt having to hide my wings. I hear going to earth as yourself, if you're not human, is horrible...I just never made that mistake, I guess." Neveah shrugged, rubbing her forked ears. She did think she needed a vacation though...
"Hn? Oh...the insect Butterfly just mates and lays eggs, there is no caring for their young or anything like that. But...my family and I are Butterfly Humanoids, and though I barely knew my parents, they were still around on occassion...It was mostly my siblings that raised me, and now I don't know where any of them are....but I guess that's all a butterfly can expect." Now, Neveah was playing with one of her antennae, though it did look like she was cleaning it somehow. "So...I guess its partially genetic, partially personal..." Then, the hiss of the kettle rang into the living room, and Neveah excused herself for the moment.
