And my house isn't clean. X_x My mom runs a cleaning business (that I worked for, for nine years) and it's driving me nuts that everytime I think I have the house clean there is a mess of toys, or smears on the mirrors or "Dang I just dusted that yesterday!". Well at least my parents tend to stress me out less than my in-loves(nice way of saying in-laws), my parents even stress Hubby out less than his own folks do, might help that mom got him a ticket to the Colts-Bengals game last year. xd Anyway my point to all this is: Am I alone in this boat, or does a visit from the folks incite stress for pretty much everyone?

Visits from my folks do tend to stress me out.... for pretty much the same reasons I try to keep in mind that they are coming to see ME and my family, not to critique my house

yep.. always does.... my mom is a sweet lady but she can be overly compulsive when it comes to the house not being in tip shape -.- so i have to make sure mine is in mint condition before she visits. My dad.. doesn't really care.. lol

I'm glad to know I'm not in it alone. It's hard to keep the house clean with a crawler (well half the time she is). I feel like I get something clean... let's say the living room and then boom it's covered in toys again. xd Aww but my baby is worth a little toy mess. I've decided if mom makes a big deal about the cleanliness(sp?) of the house I'll point her in the direction of the cleaning supplies. xd We have a great relationship so I'll be able to get away with it. xd

Parents comming? I took cleaning from the big comphy couch. The 10 second tidy. Its not about having it perfectly clean. Vaccuum dust once a week, then every day, 10 minutes to go around, make sure dishes are away, beds made, toys out of the middle of the floor.
Ask them to call just before they come, so about 15-20 minute warning that they will be arriving. If they ask why, simple reason, I just want to get the munchkin changed before you come over, or I need to give the munchkin a few minutes to stop playing so were ready for your visit. then just go round pick up the major things, and after that dont worry. They came to see you and the kiddo, not to inspect the house smile

They're coming to TX from KY.

My mother doesn't stress me out too much, but my grandmother is another story when it comes to being a neat freak. I second the ten second tidy!!! xd
