Edge, near the Meteor statue
Oh dear, what to do now?
Quistis leaned against the guard-rail of a rather large statue of a meteor, cleaning her glasses, idly scanning the town, and trying not to let on she was from another world. She had came to this town not in the conventional way of car or chocobo, but via crashing her gummi ship. She had ran into a squadron of Heartless ships on her way to Neverland to see some old friends, and was forced to make an emergency landing outside the city. She was thrilled, to put it mildly, that she had decided to wear civillian clothes that day; it reduced the chance for nosy questions. Then again.......I highly doubt my superiors would be partial to a two year leave of absence, even if it was unintentional.
Letting her mind wander, she thought about her old friends, who she had just recently got in contact with. Squall and Rinoa are fine......they're probably going to try and go home.......Selphie's under a curse, poor girl...I hope we can find a way to help her out.....Seifer's still depressed over what happened.......when will he realize it wasn't his fault.... Her brow creased when she thought of a new friend she had made. Why is Axel so rude?......and why do I keep trying to talk to him? He's a lost cause.....I should just ignore him....
Reaching into her skirt pocket, she pulled out a set of cards with the names of places on them. What are these for, I wonder? Maybe they're linked to this world......In that case, someone here should be able to tell me what they're for.

Edge--Meteor Statue
Everything dipped into silence for a moment. An utterly black, peaceful calm that relaxed Cloud completely.
Then, the bustling sound of a city flooded his ears. Eyelids peeled back. Cloud looked out on the city of Edge. Aerith's warm hand was still encased in his. To his left was the giant Meteor memorial. Just the sight of it made his heart pang with guilt. If he had been able to fight Sephiroth...if he hadn't given him the Black Materia...Midgar would still be around, and no one would have died.
His azure eyes gave off a melancholic look as Cloud felt the edges of hsi lips turn down. That statue was really not a pleasant thing. Not at all.
Cloud's eyelids suddenly split open. Memories, starting off with his hand encasing Meteor reaching in to Sephiroth, ran in rewind. Memorable, if horrid, events of his life blinked through his mind, like a slidshow with clips that went by too fast.
Memory, image of Jenova cells. Death of Aerith, Jenova cells. Zack's grave, Jenova cells. Zack being shot, Jenova cells. Experiments, Jenova cells. Fight at the Mako Reactor, Jenova cells. Sephiroth standing among the flames of a burning Nibelheim, Jenova cells.
Burning, burning, burning, burning! Jenova cells.
The images blinked faster and faster like a crescendo in a symphony, until they were but a blur. Somehow, they all registered in the blonde's brain. Before Cloud knew it, he was on one knee, hand laced up into his hair in white-hot pain. A screeching ring filled his ears and the sights that once flickered now melted into a bright white.
And his face met cold pavement.

Right next to Cloud
A light flashed right next to Quistis, completely taking her off guard and almost knocking her into the statue. Great Hyne!!! What is that?? Her question was answered the moment the light subsided, leaving an unconcious blond man on the pavement next to her. Oh dear, what could have happened to him? Thank goodness I remembered to stock up on potions and such in the last town I was in
Carefully getting down on her knees, she checked the man for injuries and turned him over on his back. Hmmmm...no exterior bleeding.......but there could be internal trauma.....he probably weighs a ton with all that muscle......I'm going to need help getting him to a safe place....wherever THAT is...
"Hello, anyone?? This man needs help!!"

Also Next to Cloud He's so Loved
Opening her eyes slowly, she looked around at the city before her. The hussle and bussle of the city for once, was welcoming as Aerith felt a smile tug at her lips.
Home.
After so many years she was home, closing her eyes she rocked back and forth on her heels slightly. Taking note that the planet seemed in much better shape then it was when she died...Meteor or not. It was as if, after all these years. The planet was saying: Welcome Back to the last Cetra.
She wanted to do so much right away, see Marlene, find Elmyra, visit the church. All these things and so much time...there really wasn't a rush.
All this happiness was cut short...Aerith heard a soft thud and turned, seeing Cloud on the ground her eyes widened in shock.
"Cloud!" she shook him a bit, this wasn't unsual...but everytime it happened she would get scared for an unknown reason.
Aerith saw a blonde haired woman, calling for help. She turned her head and looked at her, "Miss....I know this is hard to understand and doesn't make much sense...but all we can do is wait it out..." she frowned, looking down at her finace.
"Hang in there, Cloud....One day...you won't have to worry about these anymore..."

Edge--by the Meteor Statue with two hot chicks standing over him
The few moments he was would out felt like hours if not days to Cloud. A gentle, heart-warming voice sounded in his head, the words mlurring together. One thought came instinctively to his mind.
Mother?
After all, he was a failed Sephiroth clone. Something in him strode ever and always to find that one being by that name, even though Cloud knew she was dead.
No...Jenova?
The hazy words replayed again, almost as if to say, "No, not Jenova. Listen more carefully this time, Cloud. You know who this is. The blonde strained for the tone, trying to raise it in volume if at all possible. All of this with a completely serene face on the outside.
Cloud managed to pick up the voice as the ends of his lips twitched upwards before settling back.
Aeris.
The tone cut off, again seeming to speak. Ding ding ding! There you are, Cloud! It was the woman you love with all your heart. Why don't you wake up now so she won't worry anymore?
... Yes, came the simple agreement.
Cloud shifted slightly on the ground before opening his eyes. There was Aeris, standing over him. There was also... another woman? Who was she? Probably just some resident that saw him collapse.
The blonde eased himself up onto his elbows. Well... this was rather akward, to say the least.
"Sorry about that...I'm fine." He was speaking more to thie other woman who had know idea what was happening. Aeris knew at least that he was fine. That these happened.
Cloud rose, extending a hand to help Aeris up. It might have been rude to not help the other woman up while he was helping Aeris... but she was a stranger. And one that looked quite capable of taking care of herself.
Once Aeris had taken his hand a stood, he turned to the other woman.
"Sorry if I worried you, Miss."
[Sorry if that whole Aeris taking his hand and standing thing was godmoddage. She was PROBABLY going to anyway.]

Edge- Near Cloud and Aerith
"Sorry if I worried you, Miss."
"No, it's quite alright. I'm happy you're fine, sir." Getting back up on her feet, Quistis brushed the dirt off of her skirt and straightened herself out. As soon as she was done, she eyed the couple in front of her. The woman was brunette, pretty, and reminded the SeeD of a quieter version of Rinoa. The blond man seemed equally quiet, and rather serious, almost like Squall. This is interesting......
Formally, she stuck her hand out. "Hello, my name is Quistis. I know we only just met, but I was wondering if you could help me." Taking a deep breath, she continued. "I crashed my gummi ship just outside of town. I need some help with fixing it. Do you know anyone that could help?" Carefully, she pulled out the cards she found in her pocket. "And, do you know what these are?"

Aerith quickly shook the other woman's hand, smiling. "It's nice to meet you, Quistis! I'm Aerith!" she peered over her shoulder at Cloud.
"Oh~ You're up in record time, Cloud~!" she chirped, turning back towards Quistis before he could respond. The Cetra looked Edge over, it was quieter then Midgar and...well, cleaner.
Quistis's words about her ship caught Aerith's attention, she frowned. "Your ship crashed...? Well..." she thought for a minute. Cid was good with gummis...but he was probably still back in Radiant Garden. That left a local mechanic or something...who probably wouldn't know what to make of it, but it seemed to be the only choice.
"Maybe someone around here...what world are you from?"

Edge, near the happy couple
"It's nice to meet you, Quistis! I'm Aerith!"
"It's very nice to meet you, Aerith." Quistis smiled and then looked over at the taller blond man. "Cloud....that's your name, right? I'm Quistis Trepe. If you're not feeling well, I have a first aid kit aboard my ship. It should only take a few minutes to go and get it." Inside, the SeeD cursed herself for not bringing the entire thing with her. I need to focus on the task at hand.....I've been too absentminded recently............
"Maybe someone around here...what world are you from?"
"I would rather have my ship fixed soon so I could.....oh, what world I'm from? I'm from Sinai, more specifically the Balamb region. I'm a SeeD...that's a soldier in their elite armies. I also used to teach. I haven't been home in two years though......not since the battle with Ultimecia." A thought passed through her mind, making her eyes sparkle in excitement. "As I understand, a number of my friends are in different worlds as well. Have you ever heard of two scarred men named Squall and Seifer? Or perhaps two young women named Rinoa or Selphie? Those are my friends who I've been able to contact recently. All but one were in a place called Neverland. Have you heard of it?"

Edge-Next to the Brood Cloud
Aerith listen to Quistis with obvious intrest, "Sinai...? SeeD? You're from the same world as Leon!" she smiled, "I've only met a handful of people from your world. We were in Neverland previously with Leon and we found Rinoa and Selphie there." deciding to tell the woman everything she knew about her missing friends.
"I think Leon and Rinoa went back to Sinai...but I don't know where Selphie is."
Aerith looked over at Cloud briefly, before turning back to Quistis. Remebering the offer she made on-line to show Quistis around Edge.
"I could still show you around...but first...do you have...cards? In your pockets..?"

Edge, still....
"I think Leon and Rinoa went back to Sinai...but I don't know where Selphie is."
"Ah, yes. I do think I heard that they were going back to Sinai. And I heard that Selphie is in a place called...Bevelle? Have you heard of it? It's not on Sinai, I know that for sure...."
"I could still show you around...but first...do you have...cards? In your pockets..?"
"Cards...? Oh, yes, cards." Rummaging in her skirt pocket, she pulled out a set of cards. "Yes, a man named Reeve explained to me how these cards work. As I understand, they can send a person to another world? That's quite interesting..." She felt a shiver run up her spine at the thought of HOW these cards work. This sounds like true magic is involved....and where that is, there normally is a sorceress...
Suddenly, she remembered the thing she wanted to tell the woman. "Oh, Ms. Aerith? The Reeve gentleman that I met previously seems to be a friend of yours. He says he's coming to Edge in a short time....I would like to meet him in person, so could we postpone the tour until then?"

Meteor Memorial--Edge--Gaia
The two girls were talking, Cloud had realized that much. The words and conversation slipped right past his ears, however. The normally quiet hiss in the back of his head, the hiss from Jenova, had come to a grand crescendo. Cloud head began throbbing with the demands to change his ways. The blonde tried to force the voice back down, but it was being rather stubborn. Jenova's screech refused to cooperate.
Just as Cloud was about to shout in protest, the roar of Jenova became a hiss once more. His attention snapped back to the real world, like a camera finally being focused to see what was in front of it clearly. Now... what had he missed?

Memorial--Edge
"Reeve? You know Reeve?" Aerith smiled, "Well, the worlds sure are small! For us to know some many people" she nodded at the woman, "Yes, he is a friend of ours...right Cloud?" she cocked her head towards the blonde, not expecting an answer she turned back to the woman.
"Cloud says yeah."
She had learned that even if he was off in his own world, it was best to attempt to smack him back into reality by occasionally talking to him. "I don't mind postponing the tour~ Cloud and me have some catching up to do here anyway, right?" once again she attempted to include the blonde man into the conversation.
"....Right."

Memorial, Edge
"Yes, he is a friend of ours...right Cloud?....Cloud says yeah."
Quistis laughed slightly under her breath. The couple in front of her was so....cute. They reminded her of Squall and Rinoa....or any couple from the romance novels she would occasionally read to give her mind a rest. Of course, any thought about a cute couple brought her thoughts screeching back to her recent relationship problems. Why couldn't I trust him.....Why couldn't I understand that..... A tear ran down her face as she went through the memories of the break-up.
Her hand slipped into her pocket to retrieve the card to Balamb, but then she stopped. I'm acting even more like a child....I promised Reeve I would stay and meet him. I might as well keep that promise. Putting the card back and wiping away her eyes, she continued to wait at the statue for the man.

Just Outside the Memorial Plaza
Larxene wrinkled her nose as she took in the city. It was dirty, grimy, falling apart....and very hard for her to fit in too. Everyone wore dark, dreary, grimy clothes, making her classy, clean ensemble be in stark contrast to everyone else. And of course, her prey was in an open area. No use walking out now; it was like asking to be murdered.
Instead, her sapphire eyes watched the young instructor like a hawk, waiting for any signs of movement. The woman seemed to be waiting for something....or maybe someone. She snickered at the the possiblities of the latter option. Torturing two people or more....talk about killing two birds with one stone...or knife....
The savage nymph kept watching the young woman, polishing her knives while doing so, in anticipation of a good fight.
