Just outside Balamb Garden, lying on the grass. XD
It hit him harder than the ground did. The moment Seifer made it to Balamb, the voices started. Krazy knight krazy knight....do my bidding, krazy knight Long forgotten memories swirled up in his brain, making him relive every inch of his past life. "HYNE!! MAKE IT STOP!!" He covered his face with his hands, fingers digging into his scalp, screaming in pain. He could feel blood stream out of his hair from the cuts his fingernails made, but his emotional agony completely blocked any physical pain. His mind was the prisoner to these horrific flashback for several excruciating minutes, minutes which he was completely lost to the outside world.
Finally, the mental anguish subsided, allowing him to recieve his second shock of the day. The moment he removed his hands from his face he realized it: he was no longer the sixteen year old bully of Twilight Town, but the twenty year old ex-knight of Ultimencia. The curse that made him a teen had been completely broken, and now his spirit was. No one's going to want to be near me now....Kairi's going to hate me.........Why did I have to change back???
Plunging his hands into his worn pockets, he was surprised to find two pills lodged in one. Pulling them out, he grimaced. They were pills of magic, Ultimencia's way of controlling him. One pill would make him evil again, and two would kill him. And I have two...... Putting them in his pocket again, he closed his eyes and thought. That's it. I'm going to apolgize for what I did and then check out. That's the only thing I can do now to make things right.....

Central Room
Leon had decided to wait no longer and took Rinoa by the shoulders before pulling out the blank card. He examined it for a moment before Neverland blinked out before him. There was a blinding light that forced the SeeD to shield his eyes. The light glared for a few seconds before it completely diminished. Slowly, Leon lowered his arm and looked around the room.
They were within the Garden, in the central room, more specifically. Nothing had changed… The elevator… The terminal… It all looked the same, just as he left it. With a sigh, he smiled.
Ultimecia was really gone. They defeated her.
They were safe.
The lights were all dim and stars shone through the occasional window. Night. That meant all students were fast asleep. What time could it really be?
The man pushed the thoughts away. He didn’t want any more worries. He was away from the troubles, if only for a short time.
Right now… he was home.

Central Room
Home.
Rinoa looked back at the familiar decor of the central room and bit her lip. It hadn't been too long since she left this place, and so she felt very little of the relief Squall probably felt. After all, he was gone for close to two years.
Two years, she thought, blinking. Had it really been that long?
Perhaps it was both that, and the fact that Rinoa had never really been welcome in Balamb in the first place. This was a SeeD academy, after all, and SeeDs were the ones who were responsible for hunting down Sorceresses.
The ones who were like her.
It was only by virtue of Edea's and Cid's position amongst the students of SeeD that ensured that she was spared from the brunt of the cadets' hostility. Understandable, really. In their eyes, Rinoa herself was the one responsible for Squall's disappearance, even though the Headmaster and Edea believed otherwise.
The older couple were a welcome comfort for the past couple of years she spent avoiding SeeD cadets as much as possible, and Edea and her friends - the ones who had fought against Ultimecia - were the ones who had kept the past two years of her existence livable.
Not that Squall needed to know that, or anything. And speaking of Squall...
Rinoa heard his soft sigh beside her, and the rare smile that had crossed his lips, and for the moment, she forgot about her own little problems. He was so handsome then, when the weight of the worlds fell from his shoulders, and Rinoa silently prayed that he would stay that way for as long as possible, because Hyne knew that he deserved it.
He hadn't told her much about what had happened during the past two years, and she wondered if he had it hard, too.
Yeah...he probably did...
But now, what mattered was that the Commander Garden had been searching for for close to two years was home, and maybe...just maybe...things could go back to the way they were.
Slipping her own arm around his waist with a brilliant smile, truly glad that Squall was the closest to 'happy' that she had ever seen him, she murmured quietly, a tender note in her voice.
"Welcome home, Squall."
Gazing up at the clear night sky through the windows, Rinoa remembered the first time they had met; they had both been looking at the same night sky, weren't they? Tightening her hold almost unconsciously, suddenly fearful of the fact that Squall might slip through her fingers again - or worse, that this might be another one of her dreams - the young woman didn't look at him; she didn't trust herself to.

It was night when Seifer opened his eyes again. A dark shadow covered the Balamb sky, punctuated by gem-like stars and a full, gleaming moon. The knight knew within his heart that this may be the last starry night he would ever see. In fact, he reasoned, what he saw earlier would be the last ray of daylight he would ever see. I will find Squall, I will apologize, and then I will die. Then the world will be free of this wretched monster.
Lifting his head slightly, he could see Balamb Garden, fully lit and beckoning him. He wasn't sure if he would ever be allowed back in, but given the time of night he reasoned it shouldn't be too hard to sneak in. Weakly getting onto his feet, he trudged up the road to the entrance of the massive structure. Along the way, memories of his days there passed through his mind. How did I go so wrong........
The guard at the gate was asleep when Seifer reached him, allowing the ex-knight to hop over the short gate and continue on. Just a few paces more, and he could see Rinoa and Leon, standing in the center lobby. Without much of a warning he trudged over and grabbed the SeeD by the shoulder.
"We have to talk, Leonhart. Now."

Central Room
Rinoa… He always felt comforted when she was nearby. Many a time, Leon contemplated what he would do without her. Maybe now they could all start over. They had returned to Balamb. He could speak to whoever he needed to in order to help Rinoa.
And then he would need to help Seifer.
His friend’s stability had been deteriorating for too long. Seifer’s latest journal entry was more than disturbing. But he was in Balamb and that meant…
A hand tugged on his shoulder, pulling Leon backward and away from Rinoa. Startled, Leon swiveled around, spotting Seifer.
"We have to talk, Leonhart. Now."
The saying ‘Speak of the Devil’ could never have been more suiting for any other situation than this. The SeeD glanced briefly at Rinoa before turning back to Seifer. She would understand. Balamb was safe and she could leave her for a few moments. He wouldn’t be gone too long, right?
“Alright Seifer.” Leon replied, “Lead on.”

“Alright Seifer. Lead on.”
Seifer nodded, albeit weakly. "Remember that rocky area......outside of Garden.......where we used to train? I think that was where we got our scars......" The sudden desire to apologize surged within him. "That.......that would be a great place to talk." And to die. Who would really find me? Looking over at Rinoa, he gave a weak smile. "Nice to see you Rinoa. Sorry, but you can't take part in this....it's a guy thing." And I don't want you to see me die.....
Quietly, he trudged out of the Garden, expecting Leon to follow him. Sneaking back over the gates, he got to the entrance, and turned left, towards a rocky plain that seemed devoid of humans. I can do this......I'll apologize and take the pills.....nothing to it.

Near the Central Room--Central Room
Blinking her eyes open, Kairi looked around at the new world that laid sprawled out in front of her. Gasping in awe a bit, she had never seen a world like this before...
"We have to talk, Leonhart. Now."
She knew that voice...!
"Seifer!" the young princess called, running into the room where she thought she heard the voices coming from. Frowning slightly when she only saw Rinoa and no Seifer…well…maybe Rinoa knew what was going on.
"Rinoa...?" she asked shyly, Kairi had never met her in person. The princess tapped the older woman's shoulder, "Have you seen Seifer...? I thought I heard him...." she looked down, clutching the hat he gave her tightly.

Central Room
The night had been long and most certainly eventful, almost too eventful for Leon’s tastes. At the very least, something was accomplished: Seifer was back to his usual self and not only in disposition. Once again he appeared to be the man that Leon had studied and trained with at this very same place. Perhaps it was a side-effect of both the curse and the Pride Lands. But was Seifer truly happy with this? Even if he wasn’t, that was not Leon’s place to decide.
He continued to muse over the night’s events as they reentered the Garden. By that time, the sun was slowly rising, creating a long, blinding sliver over the horizon. Wordlessly, Leon carried Seifer into the central room and eased him on a nearby bench before turning to Rinoa and… Kairi?
’The cards…’ he reminded himself, sighing. Any immediate problems with Seifer had been resolved but that still left the Septsinian.
So what now?

Central Room
Seifer was barely concious when he was brought back to Garden. Every inch of his body ached and his gut and head were in excrutiating pain. The entire trip back was one big blur, and he knew that Leon had to almost drag him due to the ex-knight's failing body. Still, he was all accounts better than he was a few hours ago. Despite feeling worse than being spat out of hell, he had hope again. I'm not a monster.....it wasn't me who did those things.......and I'm never leaving again.
Turning his head slightly, he could barely make out the others in the room. One was Leon, he knew that for a fact, the dark haired one appeared to be Rinoa, and then there was a short red-haired girl that looked so familiar.....Wait, it can't be.....can it?
"Kairi...?"

"Rinoa...? Have you seen Seifer...? I thought I heard him...."
Rinoa had turned at a soft, shy voice, and blinked to see to see Kairi behind her. Wow, that was pretty fast...
"Hey, Kairi..." Rinoa murmured, trying to keep the worry out of her voice. Seifer had swept in earlier and had grabbed Squall, saying that they should talk, and that tone was something that Rinoa was worried about, both for her boyfriend and her ex-boyfriend - or whatever they used to be to each other.
"They just--"
Her eyes widening in surprise when Squall entered with Seifer - both looking the worse for wear, she jogged over to them. "Squall? Seifer? What just happened?! Did you guys get attacked??"
Infirmary, they have to get to the Infirmary, Rinoa thought, trying to keep herself from panicking. Why were they hurt? What were they doing?

"Seifer!" Kairi ran over to the injured man, too concerned about his well-being to notice his now adult-size. Reaching into her bag to pull out hi-potions for the two.
"Rinoa...?"The young princess looked over her shoulder at the elder woman, "Is there a hospital wing or something here...? Do you think we should take them there?" Kairi thought it would be best to let Rinoa take charge, since she had never been in Balamb before, and Rinoa knew more then her.
She wish she knew what happened to them...Kairi made a mental note to get the truth from Seifer when he was better. Something inside her knew that they weren't attacked by heartless....

Biting her lip in worry, she nodded at Kairi, pushing down her worry for a moment. She could ask what happened later, right now, she needed to get them some medical attention.
"Come on, Squall, let's get you to Dr. Kadowaki. Kairi, follow me." She just hoped that Dr. Kadowaki was awake at this time of the night. Taking her boyfriend's arm, she tugged him gently, careful not to hurt him any further.
Darn it, what had they been doing, anyway? Making a mental note to tell Squall off for whatever stupid thing they were probably involved in a little later, Rinoa smiled faintly at the younger girl before gesturing to another corridor.

Balamb Garden, on a bench, in SERIOUS pain.
"Come on, Squall, let's get you to Dr. Kadowaki. Kairi, follow me."
"Guys........come back....I need help." Weakly, Seifer reached out a hand to his retreating friends. No......they're leaving me. They're leaving me to die......oh Hyne, what do I do now? His body shook with the fear that was running through his mind. Taking a deep breath, he tried to reach out again, trying to get the attention of his friends.
You'll never get their attention........they're doing just as you feared.
No, not you........anyone but you........Hyne no!!!!!
Oh, don't give me that. I'm who made you what you are. Come back to my service, krazy ******** you!!!! I'm not hurting everyone again. You'd have to kill me before I become a knight again.
Oh, I wasn't a request......you WILL come back to me......as for death, well, I know of something worse that will bring you back.
Do your.........HOLY s**t!!!
Seifer's eyes became saucers and his face became deathly pale as his body began to violently convulse again. Gasping for breath, he scratched at his throat with his fingernails, breaking the skin and causing blood to splatter all around him as he shook. Within a minute, he had fallen off the bench and was now rolling around franticaly on the ground, his head hitting the bench as he did. One, two, three good smacks later, he fell unconcious, blood trickling from the gash in his head and from the shallow cuts on his neck.
