ah, who could forget the beloved Squall and his gunblade. This Final Fantasy game made use of the better graphic qualities given to them in their time. Its unique assortment of charaters, impressive movies, and spectacular summons make it a spectacular addition to any Final Fantasy collection. The low-polygon characters of FFVII are gone, replaced with realistic high-polygon models that only look better the closer they get. If you're one of those who thought the angled boxes that Cloud used for hands in FFVII, not to mention the positively lethal spikes that stuck off his head to represent hair were good, then FFVIII's cast of Squall, Rinoa, Quistis, Zell and the rest will be a sheer delight. Although the entire magic system is completely different from what you're used to, and mostly this is to the good. Instead of characters gaining spells as they increase in experience, they can simply "draw" spells from enemies, so any character can cast just about any spell. In fact, spells can be collected and shared among characters, and there's no such thing as magic points -- you just run out of a given spell and have to find the right creature to draw more from.

the number six reason to buy this game...
6. simply for comaprison to FF7...I like the game don't get me wrong, but me and my friends will be talking and if one of us mentions FF AT ALL..! we WILL INEVITABLY end up on the topic of 7. Frankly I like 8 just as well,( except for the train...and the bug...got killed first time by the mechanical bug that chases you in the beginning...stoopid bug)...I take that back..the number 6 reason to buy this game is!
duh duh duh.... SO I CAN OOGLE THE AWESOMENESS OF THE GUNBLADE DESIGN!!! I will STEAL it one day!!!

artist-in-a-box the number six reason to buy this game... 6. simply for comaprison to FF7...I like the game don't get me wrong, but me and my friends will be talking and if one of us mentions FF AT ALL..! we WILL INEVITABLY end up on the topic of 7.
