INTRO:
As a land where war once ran rampant, and fire flooded the country, incinerating all hope and life, Tellanos has done very well.
Ten thousand years it has gone since its last battle, a fight which killed all life in the land, and now it is green and fertile once again.
This land has grown complacent and soft. It withdrew into its own bubble, and there it lived and thrived for ten thousand years, oblivious to the world around it.
Of course, it was not ready for any sort of battle when the nation Isador attacked.
And so once again, the land was overunn.
Now, those that hold the keys to the freedom of this entire country tell us that the reason we survived last time was a hidden group called the Shires.
It consisted of all the different peoeple of the land, people that had perfected the arts of magic and fighting.
Now they are being called upon again, from the corners of the globe and accross the seas, to band together once again, and save the country that had once stood so nobly.
Are YOU one of them?

The land was barren and disolute. The land bled red into the sky, and blood ran as rivers around her.
Every step she took, Emily was submerged deeper into teh blood, gritting her teeth.
A voice called to her-a different language, but somehow, Emily could understand teh elvish.
"Help me! Emily!" It was a boy. He could have been her age, but it was hard to tell.
Where was he though? Emilies frantic eyes searched the river of blood to no avail.
Bodies began to float up from the depths, like logs, clutching at her, leaving bloody streaks accross her face.
"Join us!" They chorused, in a compelling and sweet unity. For a moment, Emily would have complied, but something inside of her rebelled.
"No!" She fought to get away from their grabbing hands, to no avail-They were forcing her down, inch by agonizing inch. Blood filled her nostrils and her scream died unheard
A stream of bubbled escaped her mouth as she screamed underwater. She fought the cage of hands keeping her down. She was drowning-dieing!
A last scream of fustration escaped from her, and-
"Emily!"
The hand shook her awake franticly. Emily opened, her eyes, ready to scream, and saw Nina skneeling by her.
Ninas flowing brown and green hair fell over her concerned face as she looked at Emily criticly.
"We will be not telling ghost stroies againat night I think." She said.
"You scared me half to death!" Nina added, turning away.
Emily stood shakily.
"What a dream." She murmured.
"Dream are dreams" Nina responded, handing Emily a pot. Emily filled it with water with a simple gesture of her hand.
"Showoff." nina mumured.
"It was so real." Emily shook her head again.
"All dreams have reality in them. Look, Emily, as much as I love playing the shrink, we have breakfast to make. If you need something to do, can you please get some firewood?" Nina said, not angrily, but wit just enough impatience to get Emily moving.
Emily nodded, but before she set off into the forest, she looked down at her hands, just to make sure that there was no blood on them.

The sky was starting to darken, the sunset was a blood-red.
A lone figure stood on a cliff, black long coat blowing on the wind.
Nina walked toward the figure as he turned to face her, smiling.
"Lucian?", a near silent whisper, filled with love and fear. Nina tried not to run toward him, as it was very annoying for him.
Lucian walked toward her, kindness and joy in his eyes. "Nina. Come your throne is waiting for you."
"But, my brother..." She trailed off, not understanding what was going on, confused. Lucian smiled, and hugged her.
His smile frightened her, strangely demonic. "It's been taken care of. Now come." His arms around her waist seemed to pull her.
Nina finally knew, and struggled to get away. How could he? Why? "No. I'll won't do it if it means my brother's blood spilled."
Lucian snarled, angrily pulling out his sword. She dropped her to the ground, and struck her in her head with the flat side of her sword.
"Then die!" He moved to stab her, until she drew her own sword.
She blocked, striking Lucian, and killing him.
Nina swam through the water, memories haunting her. A dark sapphire tail flipped through the water and propelled her quckly through.
"The darkest memories haunt the darkest people. Betrayal can destroy me." She swam on, finally giving up and getting out of the water. She was not soaking wet as people would think. Walking on, she wondered if anyone was in this dense forest, and hoping there wasn't.

The sun was properly up by the time Emily returned to camp, her arms loaded with wood. Nina had gotten a fire going, boiling water with some grain to make a chalky oatmeal.
Placing the wood next to the fire pit, Emily dug through her pack until she came up with a map.
Detailed and vibrant, the map showed almost every single land, plant, or magical mark over the entire western lands. Emily's delicate finger traced an inked line, leading from the top of he page, through the forest, and all the way to the end.
In dark blue ink, spelled across the top of the page was the word 'Tellanos' . Presumably, that was the name of the country they were in, however it was sometimes hard to tell.
"We should leave soon." She spoke without thinking, her subconscious making the decision for her.
Nina looked up from the pot. She nodded.
"Tomorrow." Nina agreed. She went back to the oatmeal.
For already four months, the two had been following the same track. Always between south and west, leading them further and further into unknown territory.
And they had no idea where the end would be.
When they had set out, they had been following Ninas grandfathers map, which was very much like this one, only it mapped out a different land.
The two had been hopelessly lost when, last week, Emily had found the map in a hollow of a tree. Their course had straightened and they had been on their way once more, moving at their leisure, staying sometimes a week at a time at camp.
They had been staying at this camp five days already, and Emily felt the pressing need to move forward, even though she had a terrible feeling that what was at the end of the track was something very, very, nasty.
