I have lost all my moral sence
Bringing you down, hurting you on this level
I can not make amence
For my words and actions I have caused

I just ask for some Forgiveness
How sincere will I be

If you can say the word forgiveness
Please say I forgive you
Because I am sorry
I am oh so sorry

What sin I say
What sin I do
All I know is I have hurt you
Only forgiveness from him makes it right
I have lost my moral sight

And all I ask is for forgiveness
How sincere am I now

If you can say the words forgiveness
Please say I forgive you
Because I am oh so sorry

My Apologies have been given
And all I ask is you forgive me
How sincere can I say this to you

We talked about something highly similar to what you described at church tonight. It's a really good poem and means more to me now than it would have two hours ago.

What'd you talk about?

That was.... amazing! I love it. The poem really exemplifies the honesty of repenting. ^_^

It's not about repenting to God though.

We talked about repenting and resolving problems among Christians. What stuck out to me was how they talked about just saying we're sorry, like forgiveness is an automatic blanket for our mistakes, means nothing unless we really realize that we made a mistake and hurt either God or the other person. To genuinely aquire forgiveness we have to have a shift of mind to recognize the mistake and a shift of heart to correct it.

Uhh... but saying you have done sin, and are asking for fogiveness.... Isn't that repenting? I'm pretty sure it is... O.o

Yes, its talking about repenting, but not to God. If we only ask God for forgiveness than we have only done have our job. To show true love for somone like we are called to do for everyone, we mustask of there forgiveness when we sin against them, not just God. It's asking from someone they're forgiveness.

I think it's harder to ask people for forgiveness rather than God. I'm afraid they won't give it or will hold it over my head. Yes, I tend to be severly self-conciece...

Well its less that its hard for me asking forgiveness, but I sometimes question how much I mean it which causes problems.

I don't have that problem....if I feel bad enough to brave asking for forgiveness, I mean it.

Well I feel really bad about it, but I still have a doubt for some reason. It's weird

Yes, doubt is a mighty enemy. Maybe pray about it and see if you need to do more than just ask forgiveness to make it right.
