Name: Maugrim
Race: human
identifying features: skin blackened from extensive burn wounds
history: maugrim was burned with his home in a fire at a young age, though somehow he survived. since then, oddly enough as it seems, he has been intrigued with fire, and how it works. some seem to think that he had somehow protected himself unconsiously through use of the force. years later, before he left to seek training in the ways of the force, maugrim found a pack of black wolves living in a forest near his home. he studied them, and how they fought, deeming the information something that would be usefull later.
reason for going to the dark side of the force: currently unknown. he's yet to tell anybody, and he's yet to have been asked. some think it's because he blames the jedi for the burning of his home, but there were no jedi anywhere near his home before or during the fire.

fair warning, maugrim is a bit creative when it comes to weapons, always willing to test out a new idea for fighting. expect to see him crafting many a weapon in this thread, wether it be lightsabers for his current younglings, trying out a new weapon style for himself, or creating something totally off the wall. i'll run all of this crafting on a (currently) outside 'craft' skill system. in short, it will be an unofficial skill using about the same system as the rest of the guild. all of the weapons i create will have some sort of difficulty check that I roll myself using the D&D system of difficulty ratings, or using a Percentange system.

the perpous of the above system is not to get a higher rank within the guild, but for me to have a way to get an unusuall idea for a weapon, bring it into the guild, and then play with it a bit, see how it works in the guild and with force powers. anybody can feel free to schedule a spar with me, and if you want me to use an experimental weapon i've created here, just say so.

::this theory would be proven correct, when the youngling, more by rank than by age, took up this bar, and another identical to it, one in each hand with the pointed end facing him. he would test their weight before swinging at an invisible enemy once, following with his off hand, and again, this time using his left handed weapon to block an invisible strike. he would continue practice agains this invisible foe untill interupted by somebody or he felt he was done for the while::

::maugrim sighed. this was getting him nowhere. all he'd managed to do is hold two weapons for long enough to get a bit more used to holding two weapons, and that wouldn't teach him much about combat itself. he sat down, and tried to stablise his thoughts on the fight ahead and the weapon he planned to use. it wasn't easy, with as little training as he had, but he managed to find some thread of concentration, and from that, a thread of calm, even if only momentary::

::maugrim walked back into his cold room, starting up the fireplace across from his bed, something he had requested be put in his room. he pulled out a sturdy table, upon it was an anvil. he took his first piece of steel, setting it in the flames as he donned a pair of gloves and a hammer. today, he would start teaching himself to make weapons specific to the specifications of any one person. today, he sighed to himself, would be a long day::

it's no problem. besides, where else would all of our supremely powerfull weapons come from? twisted

::maugrim took up the steel, for now just a long pole, and began pounding the hammer into it. once, then again, then again, and again and again, in a sort of rythmic chant, slowly shaping the steel into what would become a simple sword for his training to come::
