This thread is to explain to new and old RPers what "God-Modding" is if you arent familiar with the term here's an explanation.

"God-Modding" is in essence when someones character has the ability to do practicly anything without limits or baoundaries. Even when the skill or power doesn't fit thier characters back-story and/or description.

Another example when they simply cannot be harmed by any and all means other RPer's try. When another RPer does seem to take a hit it heals up quick enough for it not to matter.

Put simply it really stands everyone's hair on end especially when the god-modder has an "I'm the best" attitude about it, or when they try to explain it away in far fetched explanations.

A few more good examples I found on the net.

"God Modding" is in essence when someone’s character has the ability to do practically anything without limits or boundaries. And example is when they simply cannot be harmed by any and all means other RP-ers try.

-It can be killing or injuring a character without the player's express permission.
-It can be when they simply can’t be hit and dodge all attacks or anything for this matter aimed at them.
-It can also be using other characters that other people RP with. In other words, if you do not RP as
Legolas, then you cannot have Legolas say anything, or do anything, without the player's express permission.

The absolute worst is when they make out another character to be what they’re not, just to make their own character seem superior. They make others seem weak, screaming for help, when they’ve made it quite clear about their advantages and strengths. This is called power-play. It’s a strain of God-Modding, but instead of just being irritating, it’s offensive to boot.

This is a prime example of God Modding:

Player A: Punches Player B
Player B: Dodges attack, grabs Player A and throws him. Player A flies at Player B, who warps behind him and slashes Player A in the back.

It can be killing a character without the player's express permission.

Basically, god-modding is the act of using one-hit-kills, taking little to no damage from attacks, and having your character do other seemingly impossible things.

Character: "And then I swung my sword and decapitated five of them, right after getting stabbed in the gut but amazingly taking no damage at all!" That's a prime example of god-modding.

forcing a person to be hit!
Example: Xexio stabs Zel
THIS IS WRONG!
Proper way: Xexio jabs his blade towards Zel!
The proper way allows the second person a choice of allowing their character to be hit! the only exception to this rule is when one character refuses to be hit.

The term god modding comes from roleplaying. God modding is creating a character who is of an invincible nature and can do anything. God modders are also infamous for manipulating other characters' actions.

An example of god modding is making a spikey blonde hair character that can fly and toss energy balls that can level cities while being indestructable

"God-Modding" is frowned upon by most and thus is completely unacceptable in an environment where everyone is supposed to be allowed to let thier hair down without someone acting like an overlord.

Please take note of all this and dont "God-Mod"

If your wondering why I repeated myself it is because my point is GOD MODDING IS BAD!
