Well Kraeven they do have a machine down in Funland arcade, which is Guilty Gear XX and down in Orbit they have the latest version of this game which is Guilty Gear XX SLASH. If you really want to get good at these games and find opponents to fight, I highly suggest you track these arcades down.
As for me, my characters of choice are...

I used to have the game, but my brothers trashed it. X_X
I found that I was best with Millia, Jam, and Bridget, and was trying to get decent with May.
I signed up for the GGX2 tourny at Anime North, but got completly pwned due to lack of practice.

I'm still looking for a copy of this game for PS2 (yes I know it's trying to find a needle in a haystack) since I don't own an XBox.
It's a great game, hard to get into from what people tell me, although it's a fun game.
