Bright golden hues glowed in the dim starlight that illuminated the grassy expanse before him, and a bored sigh befell his lips as the lone stallion wandered aimlessly through the empty terrain. Being nocturnal had its downsides, that was for sure... it seemed that no one besides him was awake, except for the occasional owl or small rodent. That and perhaps... he shuddered here... skinwalkers. He prayed he'd never have the misfortune of running into one.
Coming to an abrupt halt near the forest clearing that he always visited this time of night, the rogue stallion waded into the cool waters of the small stream that cut through it, letting out a soft sigh of contentment as the water soaked into his leapord-spotted fur.

Cadaver yawned lightly as he wandered through the forest. Not a tired yawn, but more out of boredom really. All he had met since he was here, atleast mostly, were mares. Mares, mares and more mares. It was driveing him utterly insane. Were all the stallions hideing because of all these mares to which he could never run into any of them? That was ludicrous really. But of course, some of these mares seemed to have been love struck, or wanting mates of their own, which could be a resonable explination as to why he had run into so many of them.
Stalking out of the trees, he came upon a river that ran through a small clearing. The sight of the cool crystal water that shone silver in the moonlight made his throat ache for a drink. Leaning his head down, he sipped at the water quietly, though his ears were perked just incase someone tried to get the jump on him.

Stepping out of the cool water as he shook his coat free of the loose droplets of water adorning it, he stopped abruptly as he noticed another dark form on the other side of the stream. It didn't appear to be a skinwalker, he noted with some amount of relief, just another soquili like himself... and for once, not a female.
A few cautious steps forward were taken, ears perked forward as golden eyes scrutinized the other soquili with a nonchalant curiosity. The only other soquili he'd come into contact with thus far were mares... it was refreshing to see that he wasn't the only male in the near area. Tossing his head slightly to get the wet forelocks away from his eyes, he cleared his throat a bit to gain the other's attention, a disarming grin adorning his features as he nodded a curt welcome.
"Greetings."

Lifting his head swiftly, Cadaver glanced at the form infront of him. Seeing only the aura, but from the sound of the voice it was another stallion. Quite interesting, so this one had decided to come out of hideing eh? Very well then.
He licked his lips free of water droplets that had collected onto the fur around his dark mouth. Giveing a slight smirk, he flicked his two toned, braided tail a few times and lowered his head just slightly. "Hello..."

It took a bit of conscious effort not to visibly start at the other's features, as Shadow got his first good glimpse at the other stallion's... coloring, if you could call it that. He looked like... well, a corpse. The glassy white eyes offset his dark coloring, and the red rimming them only made it stand out more... not to mention the disturbing appearance that his ribs were on the outside of his body.
Still, he'd been taught never to judge a book by its cover, and he had no intention of starting to do so now. Offering his trademark lopsided grin, Shadow straightened lightly and crossed the river to join his newfound company. "It's been a while since I've seen another male out here. My name is Shadow, may I ask yours?"

Cadaver stretched his neck slightly and gave his ears a flick, which in turn fluttered the feather behind his ear. The sound of the water splashing about caught his attention as he watched the other stallion cross the water to his side. Though he couldn't judge what this one looked like, atleast not in the sence that he could anyway. He did not see like this stallion he was sure as he could feel that odd feeling like someone was trying not to stare.
Shifting himself slightly on the moistened ground next to the water, he turned half way so he was slightly faceing the other stallion. "It's been a while since I to have seen another male out here. I believe the mares who are intent on grabbing mates up as quickly as they can are what is driveing most of us into hideing." Giveing Shadow a nod, he lidded his milky white eyes. "My name is Cadaver."

He couldn't help but chuckle a bit at the admission of the name, which echoed his earlier thoughts. "Fitting," he said amusedly, tensed muscles relaxing slightly as he came to the conclusion that this other stallion obviously meant no threat to him. He nodded at the other's observation, the grin on his features widening a bit. "I'll agree with that, although you don't look like the type that would allow much to drive you into hiding."

Cadaver's smirk grew lightly as Shadow chuckled. Of course, he never really gave anyone his full name, he wasn't too proud of it. And Cadaver seemed to fit him quite nicely anyways. "I don't much have the idea of settling down anytime soon. So if a mare comes at me with those love struck eyes, well...she's got another thing comeing to her. I'm not a hider, thank you. I rather enjoy being out and about instead of stuck in a cave hideing from a mare."

"I'll agree with that," he conceeded with another small laugh, shifting to look up at the dimly lit moon as he waded back into the knee-deep water. "I'm not sure if I'll settle down - I suppose it depends on if I find the right mare. I wouldn't count on it, though- I enjoy having fun. And I don't find the idea of hiding very appealing, either... I'm nocturnal, anyway, so I don't run into a lot of soquili out here." He turned his head to observe Cadaver out of the corner of one glowing golden eye, ears perked in curiosity.

His ears perked lightly as he listened to Shadow wade back into the water. "I don't really feel like being tied down at the moment. But possibly I might settle down..." Cadaver gave his braided tail a few flicks side to side. "I tend to wander around at night myself. Though I do go out dureing the day...even still I tend to wander into atleast one Soquili or so. Sometimes two. But rarely stallions, mostly mares."
