((also open to one or two other lions from the pride, if they'd like to meet the family. ^_^))
Kiuma lounged luxuriously outside the main pridal den, her red body stretched out over the rock. All loose muscles and lean figure, she was dangerous looking, even at rest. Her red eyes sparkled, pleased with herself and her mate at what they had made together. The cubs should be nearby, so she wasn't worried about them. They wouldn't go far, just yet.
Only a few days old, and already so distinctly different, but all just as precious to her. The colors had suprised her at first, but not for long. These cubs were hers, so it didn't matter what they looked like, or who. Even if they did resembled Tanaka's brother Mrost, they were hers. It was something she knew in the marrow of her bones.
A deep yawn split her jaws wide, a low contented sound escaping as she gently flicked her tail. Tongue flicking out to clean her creamy maw, the red lioness glanced around, eyes finding one blue form before she passed on in search of the others.
Nearby, Matsai blinked slowly down at a little dung beetle as it truddled along infront of him. It was tempting to just squish the stupid little thing... but then he'd never sate his curiosity about just were it was going. And the little blue cub very much wanted to know where the bug was headed to so industriously. Was it going home? To find some food...? What?

A light mewling echoed through the tall grasses, a mere whisper against the other sounds of the world but still there. One of the many cubs in the litter had decided to venture out and play, awed by the world around him and yet scared at the same time. Everything was so vast, so big and confusing for the young mind. It was all just a new place to step, a new sight around every corner, and the tan cub was overwhelmed, to put it lightly.
Mastema loved his parents, loved his siblings and saw nothing but the bright world around him and his life. Never once did he have a negative thought, and though he was only a few day old, he still held onto that innocence, and still would in the times to come.
Padding clumsily around the dirty grasses, his emerald greens eyes shone with joy and love. So alike of his father's own demonic gaze, the cub never once saw the eyes full of darkness, of a sharp debth like the others did. Instead, he saw his father as a shining angel. Thankfully, he couldn't speak out his thoughts fully just yet, because if he had the ability to say things in long complex definitions, Mastema would have already honed in on his father and buired him with praise.
His mother, the beauty and his life, was also someone he looked to as an angel, a guardian and someone who would always hold a very large place in his heart. With that thought in mind, he pushed through the grasses and landed his eyes upon his mother, mimicing the yawn he just saw moreso on instinct. Shimming out into the light, the warmth made his body shiver slightly before he scrambled up a ways and smiled brightly to the red lioness. At that moment he just curled close and let out another mew once more, no words needing to be said.

The massive lion's form rose like a mountain, muscles rippling as he stretched from his neck and shoulders, to his back, followed by each hind leg in turn and finally his tail. Jaws parted in a wide yawn, his emerald eye searching the nearby grass for the small forms that frolliced nearby.
"Don't wander off."
His voice was booming, spoken loud enough for fire small pairs of ears, a simple warning. Ever the protective father, Tanaka wasn't likely to let any of his small children escape his sight, not as young as they were.
For a moment his gaze settled on the pelt of blue, finding one twin, then the other. It was odd how much the cubs resembled his brother more than himself. Any other lion might have been sparked to jealousy and suspicion, but Tanaka knew better. These cubs were his children, there was no doubt about that, and he loved them all. But his brother be damned for inheriting the dominant genes, even if they were weeker as shown by the fact that Tanaka had sired five cubs while his brother had only produced one.
Snorting, he flopped down at his mate's side, affectionately brushing his muzzle against her neck, tail flicking lightly as if it had a mind of it's own.
"I think I liked them better when they couldn't run off in five directions at once."-------------------------- The small white cub slunk across the rocks outside the den, red glaived paws creeping through the shadows, red eyes as cold as dried blood. The firstborn and the sole girl of the litter, she knew she was special. And while other girls might have felt intimidated or overwhelmed in such a situation, Mahakali, the bloody goddess, reveled in her position, a position that was hers and hers alone.
But such thoughts were distant in the young monster's mind, her focus on something much more important, much more tangible. The yellow tufted serpent flicked, the white underside glistening in the sun, the back darker than the deepest shadows, golden ring clinking on the stone with each movement it made.
She crouched, small talons extened, tiny fangs bared as she stalked closer and closer to her prey.

Finding a small, warm body suddenly pressed against her side, Kiuma reached out reflexivly to gather it up to her chest. Her broud tongue swept down the brown spine of her youngest son, though age was relative when all were born within minutes of each other. Not for the first time, the red lioness marveled at the range of colors in her litter, holding so little of her and her mate in them. Mastema, Matsailema, Ahaiyuta, Mahakali, and Belial... the names were ones of power, chosen specially for this litter.
A rough purr rumbled in her throat, softer and warmer than was usual for this lioness. Her cubs would grow strong and big, the best of the best, born of a line of Kings and Gods. It was an almost dizzying prospect to think of what their future might hold, and one that greatly appealed to her sense of ambition and lust for strength and power.
Her tongue carressed the creamy sides of her son, nothing but motherly care in the touch. How easily she'd found herself slipping into the role of mother... Her, the traveler and fighter, the lioness that had seen more of life and the world thanmost of her family combined! And here she lay... just outside the mouth of her birth place with a ball of fluff between her paws with four others tumbled around her. A happy sigh escaped her fanged maw as she turned to see Tanaka take his place beside her, her red eyes glittering with mischief.
"Such a good father you are, Tanaka... It amazes me that you could prefer me in my grotesque and bloated state, when you have five healthy cubs and me, as slender and trim as before. Though I do suppose it was easier then to keep us out of trouble." She grinned as she teased him, reaching out to n** at his shoulder.~~~~~~~~~~ Movement to the side caught the attention of the blue cub, eyes the color of emerals flicking to find the source. Kali... and she was stalking something, how 'cute'. Even as young as this, Matsai was wary of his sister, though he never once batted an eye at her antics. The object of her attetion was obvious, and he supressed his whince to no more than a slight tightening of muscles at the corners of his mouth. Father wasn't going to be happy when he found her sharp little teeth embedded in his tail...
A shift of his attention brought his brother into view, green eyes narrowing at how he lay cuddled up with Mother. Suck up... Mastema was forever one to be cuddling and showing affection, something Matsai despised. Not because he saw anything wrong with that... but for the simple fact that he himself shied away from physical contact. He got headaches from the slightest touch, which limited his snuggling to just his parents and for short amounts of time. Only for them could he brave the pain... and if anything, his father was the best to touch, if he needed the contact. The pain was almost nonexistant, as if supressed by the great lion's prescence.
A flick of his ear and Matsai turned his attention back to his sister, dismissing his brother as unimportant. Kali was sure to be far more entertaining, especially when the fireworks erupted when she pounced.

(( was gonna wait and give the others a chance to post first, but I guess I should go ahead and post now ))She crouched low, her belly touching the ground as she slunk forward, red eyes focused solely on her prey. Nothing else existed, not her siblings, not her mother, not even the father who's serpentine tail flicked so enticingly.
Her maw parted in a menacing smirk as she prowled through the shadows, extended talons clicking on the stone with each step. Whe she was certain she was close enough, her small form coiled like the great predator she would someday grow to be.
She lept, strong legs propelling her forward, pouncing with claws extended and teeth bared. She found her target, sinking her fangs and claws into the serpent, a 'vicious' snarl emmitting from her maw as she wrestled with her prey, holding it as it thrashed against her grip.------------------------------- The white lion growled at his mate, a touch of a sulk on his maw. He knew it had been in jest, but damn her for twisting his words. Of course he wouldn't have wished her to carry the cubs again as difficult as it had been for her. Besides, he loved her no matter how she appeared, she knew that perfectly well.
Snorting, he nipped at her ear, his gaze narrowed in mock irritation, he could play that game too after all.
"You know what I meant!"
Whatever words or action he was planning where suddenly interupted and swiftly forgotten, replaced by a sharp yelp as tiny fangs and teeth found his tail. Snarling, he whirled around, only to find his daughter latched to his hind end, struggling to hold on as the tail thrashed about.
"My tail is not a toy, let go!"
As he spoke, each word was emphasised with a heavy thump of his tail, the appendage rising and falling to the stone ground with a heavy thud each time in an attempt to shake the little moster off.
"I said let go!"

-Ahai hadn't been far away, little tubby cub body resting on the warm stone as paws dangled boredly over the edge. Paws switching and swating to try and catch the small flies and gnats that hovered in the general area in a laziness that only seemed befitting for the warm day.
He really wanted to play. But Matsai had already busied himself with other things... And father's warning rung as a strong reminder in his ear. So instead he was here.. boredly counting away the seconds of the day. Maybe tommorow would be more exciting..
Black ears swiveling along with the harsh jerk of his head at the yelp, Ahai's emerald eyes immediately settled upon the little white demon. Attached to HIS father's tail. That nasty little demoness.
Immediately a snarl curled onto his maw, pivoting as he quickly stood and began to barrel at his sister without a word or thought. Inflicting pain on dad for no reason.. hell.. it was dad. In his young life he couldn't imagine there could possibly BE a reason to inflict it on dad ever. Her on the other hand.. He'd see how SHE liked it!
Head down he barreled, quickly carrying him across the stone, picking up speed as he jetted straight at the elder sibling.-

His purring started almost instantly, curling from the back of his throat before it rolled out into the warm silence of the air. Her tongue was warm, it was soothing and the effect it had on his pelt caused shivers to run up and down his spine. Having no idea just what the feeling was, the cub just relished in the fact that it was there and smiled lovingly up to the figures of his life.
It took only a second for his eyes and attention to shift upon the male god, tilting his head slightly in confusion before the tail swung and he saw the female sister flying as well. Up and down she went, and a childish gurgle of a giggle escaped his maw while he rested his head on the large red paws. It was so interesting to him, all of the shapes, all of the sounds, everything, and he couldn't stop, couldn't back down.
When finally, a new form caught his attention, he followed the form of his racing brother, seeing him get closer. Movnig to stand and catch his balance, he noticed how everyone else seemed to like to jump and play, and so he thought Ahai wanted to as well. So, as the blue twin got just in view, the brown 'baby' of the family pounced with a squeak of a rowl, wanting to love his brother as well.

Kiuma blinked, her eyes widening when Tanaka rose with a sudden motion and a growl. She chuckled as a smile spread acrossed her face, releasing Mastema to whatever had caught his attention as she rose and turned to deal with the minor catastrophe. Her fanged jaws opened wide to close around the small, wriggling form. Death normally came from those jaws, but for once they held a mother's gentle firmness. Clasping her daughter, she pulled her free from the tail, a low murr in her throat when she settled back down on her stomach and released the cub into waiting paws.
"My fierce little daughter... You'll make a fine huntress one day, if you decide to hunt something other than tails." A rumbling chuckle fell from her throat as her tongue swept over the white and black hide. Of all her cubs, her daughter was probably her favorite, and the one she felt most proud of. Her boys would be fine lions when they grew, she had no doubt, but this daughter... this one was special, among them all. She alone would bare more cubs to carry on the lineage, and even perhaps become something greater than either Tanaka or Kiuma could imagine.```````````````````` A flicker of a grin crossed the blue cub's face and was gone again. He'd been right, and it had been worth watching. Now she'd done it for sure... Father would never stand for her disrespect. A little disappointment washed through him when Mother scooped up Kali, a line forming between his brows. She physically attacks Father, and she got cuddles? Narrowed eyes glared at the white demon. Brat.
Motion to the side caught his attention, and he found the mirror form of his twin rushing towards them, soon to be intercepted by their brown brother. An eye roll came as the small body moved to its feet, carrying him swiftly towards the invevitable confrontation. Ahai wouldn't like that in the least... which ment Matsai needed to be there to back him up, whether or not he might want it.

Belial sat off to one side of the ruckus, curled regally, his brown eyes simply watching, observing the others. He didn't get involved in the scuffles if he could avoid it, keeping himself somewhat seperate from everyone else. He frowned at Kali biting their father's tail, clearly not happy about it. He wasn't sure why but challenging a lion who had nothing but concern from them rankled even his faint morality. He silently willed Ahai on from where he sat, seeing the blue cub as one way of meting out judgement.
And hell if it all fell apart, he'd be the one with the clawmarks.
At his mother's words of praise for Kali's meaningless violence he bristled jealously. The thought took him right then and there to get up and bite the nearest tail he could find, but he figured that had already been done and would result in only nonplussed reactions.
He rolled over with a snort to face the wall.
"Uncouth, yes."

The white lion snarled, his ears pinned back in irritation. Little white monster, Tanaka loved his children, but he did -not- appreciate his tail being chomped in the least. His gaze narrowed, one paw flexed talons emerging for a moment before withdrawing again into the massive paw.
He had thought of lashing out, knocking the monster from his tail with one powerful swipe, but he had been beaten to it, his mate instead taking the cub to praise her instead.
"Don't encourage the little monster"
His voice was low, clearly not happy, some obscene curse muttered under his breath as he glared at his daughter, a silent warning that if she ever did such a thing again her mother would not be able to save her. Snorting, he turned away to smooth out the fur of his tattered tail.-------------------------- A tiny growl, oddly fierce for one so young, Mahakali held fast the tufted serpent, talons and fangs sinking deeper into the hide with each shake, determined to keep her hold on her prey. A satisfied vampiric grin on her maw, ears flicking at the sharp yelp that pierced them. Yes, a wondrously successful hunt.
She had been too occupied with her prey to notice her brother's charge, too uninterested in the stupidly odd cub to care about his actions. It was only when her mother's jaws closed on her that she saw anything but the serpent in her jaws.
A broad smirk crossed her maw as she found herself between her mother's paws, purring at the grooming, clearly very satisfied with herself. Hmph, if her father hadn't wanted his tail pounced he shouldn't have made it so tempting. As he turned, she stuck her tounge at him behind his back, knowing better than to do so to his face.

-Emerald eyes had been locked so intensely on Kali that Ahai hadn't noticed the lifting of his 'strange' brother. Nor the playful actions until Mastema pounce landed, a stupid sputtering of surprise escaping the blue cub.
A silent growl of warning touched his throat as his plan and path were thwarted, and suddenly the sound of mother's voice rang out, causing a shudder of rage to shift through his tiny body. Praised! For being an ungrateful and rude little monster?
Fur bristled and claws extended as the cub seethed with rage, the gentle cub suddenly getting the brunt of his anger. A hard slap met the soft fur in an attempt to send the little one flying, eyes twitching to settle as he breathed an angry growl towards the nuetrelly colored sibling.- "You idiot!"
-Logic and Mastema's innocence ignored Ahai let the blame fall upon the cub, letting his mind convince himself that if the cub hadn't stopped him, he'd have atleast gotten one good blow at Kali before mother had whisked her away. And now..
The shudder of anger was visible even from a distance, and the rest of the family blinded from his vision as he stepped nearer his younger brother, claws held out in warning of another attack.-

Unaware of the glares cast their way by the rest of her brood, Kiuma gave her daughter a few more licks till she caught sight of the tongue being stuck out at the back of her mate. "Now, now, none of that..." She chided, releasing her daughter from her paws and pushing her towards her father. "Go appologize to Daddy." Her voice was firm, unbendable. Kali would do it, if she was smart. Kiuma would happily give her over to her father for punishment if she refused her.
Despite the small scuffle, it was turning out to be a fine day. The sun was bright, the sky cloud-free... and Kiuma had her family about her. HER family... such a delicious thought. Finally, something that belonged to her and her alone, something no one could take from her. The thought nearly had the lioness rolling about like a cub herself, purring hard enough to rattle the stones of Priderock. She has a sudden urge to go and find something to kill, just to taste the blood on her lips... yes, that would be the crowning touch. Sly smile curling on her face, she cast her eyes at her mate, waiting for him to finish with their daughter and catch her look. Surely there was a lioness babysitter they could shove the cubs onto while the pair of them got some... alone time.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ White paws hit the rock lightly, barely making a sound as the blue cub joined his reflection. Well, reflection in looks, perhaps. In personality? They were far from alike. He caught the smack to the youngest brother, eyebrows lifting. His voice was low, ment to reach only the black ears of his twin.
"Be careful, Ahai. Mother and Father will be upset with you if they see you doing that. You know how they are..." His voice, cool and emotionless, said he couldn't have cared less either way, but the fact that he'd actually said something would speak volumes to anyone that knew him. The blue cub would prefer not to see his twin getting punished... it always raised a sympathetic pain in himself, even if he didn't show it. "Besides, you know Mastema can't help it. He's soft in the head..." A flicker at the corners of his mouth invited Ahai to join in the joke, hoping to somehow aleviate his brother's anger.

Feeling his body hit the mark, the cub let out a joyous squeal, if that was the closest to what the sound could be called. Smile crossing his maw in a blissful occasion, and he rolled until he felt the pelt of his brother leave his paws. Curling with a laugh, he just settled to his back before rolling to his belly and pushing quickly to his feet.
"Wasn't that-" His words were cut short by the sudden snap, and his maw quickly snapped shut. Ears falling, the youthful cub just lowered his head a bit on his shoulders and looked with wide eyes at the blue twin that seemed keen on yelling at him.
However, as soon as the claws met his maw, he was slammed towards the ground in a uncordinated heap. His chin had fallen first, scraping the stone as he closed his eyes and just lied there for a long moment. Slowly, they opened up as if in a daze, and he lifted his head just slightly before it fell once again in mute defeat.
When he saw the paw lift for another strike, he took a deep breath before letting out a squeak of defence.
"...you aren't suppose to hit eachother in games Ahai..."

Belial heard the scuffle, the yells and the angry voices but just let them wash over him unheeded. He could never get worked up enough to get really angry at Mastema or any of his other siblings. He didn't feel properly connected to anyone. Still, it was annoying trying to ignore such hubbub and with an exasperated grunt, he got to his paws, turning to face the others, giving the most disdainful glare he could muster.
He didn't say anything though, not wanting to be the next target of ridicule.

The white demon had looked rather smug, a maleviolent smirk on her maw. But at her mother's words her expression instantly changed, a look of shock and horror in her eyes, a disgusted sneer on her maw. Apologize? Her? The bloody goddess did not apologize, even to gods. Surely her mother could not be serious.
"I don't want to."
Her tone was defiant, for the moment immoveable, she wasn't going to apologize and no one could make her. But she had caught her mother's tone and her expression, seen the firery glare from her father and she knew that challenging them further would be foolish. Ears lowered, tail flicking, and a mutter under her breath, she surrenderd...for now.
"Yes Mamma."
Fine, she would apologize, but only in words. She wasn't really sorry, and it probably wouldn't be the last time her fangs found her father's tail.
"I'm sorry for biting your tail, Daddy." -----------------------------
It may have seemed that the white lion wasn't paying attention, for he was looking in the opposite direction of his mate and their daughte, tail flicking irritablly. Such a conclusion would have been incorrect however as his ears flicked at every word, fully aware of all that was around him, hearing his mate and his child's words while his eye caught the scuffle between two of his sons.
As his daughter spoke, Tanaka's ears perked, his gaze narrowed as he turned, green fire focused solely on her. Though he heard her apology, he was not fooled; he had heard her defiance and the insincerity in her tone. His tail forgotten, a dark aura trickled from the white demon, speaking of his anger toward his oldest child. Attacking his tail was forgivable, but disobediance was not.
"Do not lie to me."
Standing to his paws, the lion was an impossing sight, the look in his eye stern and unyeilding. He seemed to radiate his anger and displeasure, his firery gaze piercing the white cub, causing even her to cringe under him.
"You will never speak to your mother that way again; when she tells you to do something you will obey, is that clear?"
A small nod was all the answer he needed, and one paw raised he swatted his daughter, connecting soundly with her hind end; a strike more than enough to sting and elicite a yelp, but not enough to truly harm her.
His daugter delt with, the great lion turned his attention to his sons, his voice bellowing as he called out.
"Ahai, do not abuse those that do not know how to fight back."
Tanaka prefered not to interfere in scuffles between his children, instead allowing them work out their differences on their own and to find their own place. However he would not allow them to endanger or abuse one another or to inflict more than another sibbling could handle. His words had been a simple warning, do not cross that line, for he would be most displeased if it did.
Children dealt with for now, Tanaka turned his attention to his mate, the look in her eye instantly catching his attention, a smirk crossing his maw in response. He knew that look, he had seen it many times, it was intoxicating, enthraling. Now the question was, who to con into watching the little monsters for them?
