[ Matawi dragged her black paws in the drit of the dry Savannah. This was no to what she was made to do. The Dampness she was used to was gone. It was back in the jungle. A place she didn't want to go back to. Her mouth was dry and dirt clung to her fur, making it a tinted brown that made her irritated. It seemed to cover up the little color on her.

She sighed. This was one of those days. The hated ones. The hot ones. She panted and wandered over to a water puddle. Matawi eyed it before taking a drink of water and a bit of mud
. SHe coughed, and her eyes caught sight of a reall water hole, but the risk of getting trampled was a good one. She was a leopardess, not ment to be in the open or fight in the open for that matter.

She kept her distance and began to wander away. Her paws were caked with dry dirt that felt like it was cracking under her. It was time to rest in her oppinion, and maybe clean these dirty paws. ]

[I am assuming you know what he looks like yes?]

Kikahawia'Kikavu found himself in the Savannah. It was not unnatural but it just seemed that he was getting all over the place lately, not that it bothered him, he had met some very interesting people lately and that made him quite happy to say the least.

The pale or tan colored cheetah found himself near the very watering hole the leopardess had been looking at just moments before. Luckily there was no on coming animals so he lapped up some water then proceeded on when he saw the leopard.

The last creature he had come upon was a spotless cheetah so he thought that Matawi might be one too. "Hello there!"

[[ Yup. ]]

[ Matawi Shut her vibrant eyes and blinked. Once, twice, three times. What a Lazy afternoon. A yawn escaped her and she shut her eyes and began to lick the caked dirt off of her paws. The discusting dry dirt turned into a dry mud under her tounge. It was so hard to finish a single paw, that the others seemed less important and she quit abrupty.

Matawi yawned once more and shut her eyes, closing the world and the sun out. She saw dancing reds and blacks under her eyelids that made her muse as if she were back in the jungle. The sweet smells came back to her and were cut off by a voice of another. She flinched then opened her eyes to find a cheetah standing over her. Matawi smiled sweetly. She knew of Cheetahs. They were so bi polar. Or, the one she had met was.

"Hello there." She stared up at him. "What brings you so close to such an out of place creature?" ]

Kikahawia'Kikavu had a large grin on his face when the other replied to him and it made him quite happy, happy indeed, happier than he had been atleast. It was so much fun for him to meet knew people epecially if they were a different speices.

"Out of place? Are you talking about yourself because you don't seem that out of place to me, atleast not as out of place as I might be." The Cheetah told the female before him. "My do you want help with the dirt on your paws? I'm at your service if you do."

The cheetah then semi-bowed to the leopardess with a smile still on his face. "Let me introduce myself, I am Kikahawia'Kikavu, Kika if you will at your service miss."

[ Matawi tried to match his grin, making it bigger and wider. This only made her face hurt and feel oddly streatched out, forcing her to quit and only look at him with a little one that fit on her face. This Kika guy was a very happy sort. She could tell just by looking at him, with his abnormal smiles and such.

She nodded, "Yes. Out of place." All she did was stare up at him with her ruby red eyes. "A leopard is ment for the jungle. Not for the savannah." Matawi told him simply. There wasn't much more for her to say in the matter unless he pried. Which she really didn't mind that much. Since really. She would always be out of place until she returned home, which was not happening anythime soon.

She curled her paws underneath her and shook her head. "Please do not help me. They are my paws, my responsibility." The wise half of her mind was in control. She wondered how long it would be until the child side showed it's little face.

"I am Matawi. Just Matawi. Short and sweet." Matawi favored short names over long ones. Much easier to remember in her oppinion. ]

"A cheetah stands out just as much as a leopard does in a setting such as this Miss." Kikahawia'Kikavu told her in a calm poliet tone. "If leopards are meant for the jungle why are you not there?"He tilted his head curiously when he asked that question. It made no sense to him why she was here when leopards should be in the jungle if that was what she was.

"But miss, it is always good to help people, why don't you wash them off in the water?" He asked her genuinely worried about her, it wasn't good to keep her paws covered like that it could become quite painful and difficult to walk with.

"Matawi? Such a pretty name. It is a pleasure to meet you Miss Matawi, I do hope that when either of leaves we do not leave as enemies." Kika told her sincerly.

She shrugged. She wasn't going to argue with a cheetah that could run faster and probobly get her. Matawi hoped that this cheetah wasn't mean like that though. "I am not in the jungle because..." she paused, thinking of a good way to put this. "Well, I might as well just say it. I hate the jungle. And couldn't of got out fast enough." A tinge of hate seeped into her voice.

She shrugged and agreed. "Okay, We can wash them off in the water." She didn't want to worry him or anyone for that matter. It might just be best to listen to what would help her, even if she felt like she didn't need it.

She half shrugged and stood. "If you say so..." She never thought of her name as 'pretty' just as reasonable. She spent her life in the branches and might as well have left with something to remember them by. "And I doubt it. I have not yet made a single enemy and I do not wish to start now.

Kika nodded at the leopards words, he couldn't help but feel the same way she did. "I am not a fan of the jungle myself, not the best of memories if I recall things correctly, which I believe that I do..." Nothing more was said from the tan cheetah, he looked as if he was lost in thought then when she said something else he snapped back into reality.

"I'm glad that you have decided to wash them, I wouldn't want to see you in pain later on when you walk on them." A pause followed that as he gave her his cheerful smile "I'll make sure that no one tries to harm you while you was them, not that I believe anyone would want to..."

Shifting his footing his spotted tail flicked behind him. "Ladies first Miss Matawi." He then bowed his head polietly

Matawi just shrugged. Everyone had a reason for not enjoying the jungle. It was just to moist and there were so many memories of abandonment. She looked down at her muddy paws, the dark brown looking horrible against her black pelt. She doubted that it would hurt if she walked on it for to long, seeing as she had a high pain tollerance. Both physicly and emotionaly.

She slowly got up and streatched slightly. "So you are going to walk with me, are you?" She had a small smile on her face. She began to walk forward, hiding the little annoyance that was beining to form in her mind. She could take care of herself, but wasn't so crule as to send him away when he was so egear to help. After all, he did know where he was going and she was almost lost. Maybe it was best to keep him around until her paws were clean. And He would probobly make for some nice company too.

"Well?" She turned her head towards him, red eyes looking a little exited, "Are you coming or not?"

The cheetah nodded to the leopard when she asked him the first question. "Unless you'd rather I didn't." He told her flattening his ears against his head momentarily before the flickered back up as she began walking. Kika took a step forward before halting slightly unsure.

It wasn't until she looked back at him with her red eyes that he started after her. He was no longer unsure and quickly caught up to her. He smiled brightly at her before walking a few steps more, flicking his spotted tail and waiting for her.

Matawi smiled politely and followed him. Keeping a step behind him at all times. The Dray grass beneath her fett crunched lightly filling some of the silences when she couldn't think of anything to say. She was thinking hard, trying to break the uneasy silences. The olny thing she could think to say was another question. And questionafter qustion was never any fun. But Maybe it would break the ice and words would flow easier between them.

She cleared her throat. "Uhm.... Do you have a family?" Shee looked at him intently hoping for a good answer that would make her want to speak more freely as they walked together. It would be much earsier that way. And maybe she would have a friend before it was over instead of just a guide to the water hole.

It felt as if time were ticking slower and slower to her.

Kika shook his head at her question. "Not anymore....wait that's a lie. My family is Maksia and myself. Maksia is a black and white genet who's a little crazy." He replied after he thought about it for a moment. "We aren't exactly a normal family, but she's still the only family I've got." He then shrugged before smiling at her to wipe away any sadness he had.

"What about you Miss Matawi?" He inquired hoping that he wasn't prying.

She sighed, but knew the question would be returned. "There is only me myself and I." She paused and decided that it would be best to throw Shaha into the mix, even though they had only just met. "I guess my traveling companion would be considered family, and at least a friend." Her thoughts drifted back to the rather large lion, wondering where he had gone off to this time. Then thinking it best, pushed him to the back of her mind. It was rude to stop and stare while in the company of another.

"I guess that we both don't have very much to fall back on. That is never fun..."

Kika nodded. "I suppose so but someday we will. When we find the other that's connected to us." He said obviously referring to their 'soul mates' if either of them would end up with one. When that happened they'd have their mate to fall back on and their children if they had any. "But that might be for a while eh?"

Matawi grinned up at him. He was very smart for a cheetah, even if she had never met another like him. Matawi was enjoying his company very much, though it was in her best interest to leave relatively soon.

"A while..." She agreed half-heartedly. She did not wish for it to take a while She wanted to be nestled into the company of a constant companion. Matawi knew it may not ever happen. A thought that thoroughly broke her heart. She feared getting attached to this male, at that. Was it a fear of commitment? Or just a fear of heartache?

"Maybe it is best I leave now. Before I get to attached." She couldn't risk getting attached so soon out of the jungle, so soon after getting her freedom. It wasn't in her best interest to stick around in all honesty. She needed to leave now before things got away from her.

"Farewell, May we meet again someday." And with that, she took off, running as fast as she could, though the cheetah could easily catch her, it seemed that he wouldn't. She pryed he wouldn't. Matawi just wanted her big brother to comfort her and keep her safe. He was the only one she had grown to trust in her time out of the jungle.
