Wander. Wander. Wander. All Gharadi was doing nowadays was wandering, meeting other lions and making friends. He was getting bigger everyday, and he wanted friends he could turn to when he wanted to have some fun.

Perhaps this day would bring about another friend.

He was sprawled out on his back, sunbathing, the sun was in the middle of the blue sky beating down gently warming the ground and the small cub. He wanted to grow so fast...meet girl lions. Though he would never tell anyone, then he'd get bugged by others. He wanted to make friends, perhaps he would. The only friends he had made so far besides his siblings were Kajji and Gharadi.

He hadn't met any female lions yet, perhaps today would bring about something different.

User Image As though the young male's prayers had been answered, a young adult female made her way through the tall grasses of the savannah. At first, it would appear as though the grasses only moved with the light breeze of the wind, but upon closer inspection, dark stripes could be seen along with a beautiful pair of lime green eyes. This female was certainly older than the male, though her size was not anything to be intimidated by.

Having not noticed Gharadi, Shiri continued on through the grass, eyes alert and ears perked to catch the sounds of anything moving nearby. It seemed too often, days passed the female by with no signs of food. Could it be due to the fact that the rogue territory she often occupied may have been too close to the pridelands? Were the prideland huntresses much more effiecient at hunting than herself? She laughed at the thought. They certainly were.

Gharadi's ears perked up when he heard movements, pushing himself to stand he peered around, tail flicking to the side. Who was there? He couldn't tell right away, then he could see something, no, someone moving closeby. Perhaps another friend! Yes, this could be the thing he was waiting for today.

Padding closer to the figure he noticed they were larger...also that it was a she, a female? Gharadi's eyes went wide for a moment, he had never seen such a female before. He got butterflies in his tummy and he didn't understand why.

Straightening himself up and puffing out his chest slightly he smiled in her direction, a few feet away, "Hi, I'm Gharadi, who're you?" he asked with curiousity, perhaps this day could bea good day afterall.

User Image Hearing a sudden padding coming in her direction, the lioness' ears perked and she looked towards Gharadi. By the soft sound the male's pawpads made on the ground, the femme was able to figure out that whatever was coming towards her was small in size. Licking her lips, the lioness wondered if this would possibly be her meal for the day. With a stomach growling, she awaited for it to approach her further. By remaining still and low to the ground, she hoped to remain unseen.

Shiri's body went tense when suddenly the figure popped up before her, exclaiming it's name. She felt foolish for not noticing the creature was a cub. A lion cub no less. Letting out a light laugh, the lioness picked herself up and stretched to try and cover her mistake. "Oh.. Gharadi?" She nodded at his announcement. Quickly she felt the urge to simply run off and leave, but she felt as though the small cub would be upset by her. And he didn't seem to have anybody with him. "I'm Shiri." She said curtly, eyed peeled for any sign of his parents.

Gharadi smiled and puffed out his chest, trying to look big and strong, he felt the strange need to...strange for him to feel such a thing. "Shiri..." he said, her name rolling off his tongue. Such a niec name, "Your name is very pretty Shiri." He stated calmly, tail flicking to teh side. She seemed quite nice, but seemed to be looking for something.

Then he got an idea.

"I was just wandering this way from my mom and sister...needed to get away, what brings you this way Shiri if I may ask?" curiousity in his voice. She seemed so nice, it was nice to have finally met another so soon, and female to boot.

User Image Shiri nodded and patted the small male on the head as he complimented her, "Thanks.." she said quietly. Upon the young male's explanation as to why he was alone, however, Shiri released a short sigh. Apparently she would not be able to rid herself of the cub by speaking with its parents. Looking down in his direction, she smiled faintly and listened to what else he said.

Once he had finished, he seemed to watch her, expecting some sort of answer. The female felt awkward remaining silent with the excited youth before her and so she eventually responded, "Well.. I suppose I live here. Not much to call home, but this is it." Her bitter tone could be detected by what she had said, but she meant no harm. Looking over the young male again, Shiri tried to ease herself into the conversation. Every inch of her was screaming to just up and leave.

"Must be fun to travel around out here, go where you want," Gharadi said with a smile, flicking his tail to the side and slightly pawing at the ground. "I hope tot ravel someday, might be fun, but for now I have to stay near to my mom, she's over there," he said pointing with his paw in the distance, "I think she's with my sister..."

He loved his family a lot. But Gharadi would rather have his own friends and family then just having family. He hoped he was not annoying Shiri, she seemed so quiet. He folded his ears back somewhat in confusion, "I didn't do anything wrong to make you upset did I?"

User Image Shiri looked up as the young lion pointed in the direction of his parent. Curious now as to whether or not the mother had spotted her, Shiri kept low to the ground, making herself comfortable. Certainly a mother lioness would not be too thrilled about one of her cubs speaking with a strange rogue lion. Shiri let out a light laugh at the thought. She doubted it would matter much.

As Gharadi worried about bothering Shiri, the adolescent lioness couldn't help but smile faintly. As antisocial as the femme was, she did enjoy the company of the younger animals in the savannah. They were so happy, filled with joy and curious. Shiri silently wondered if she kept a fondness for them because her own past was not nearly as bright. Shaking the saddening thought from her mind, she smiled genuinely towards the smaller lion, "No, of course not... Just wondering what you're mother and sister are doing so far.. Does your mother not worry about you?" Shiri hoped she did not sound rude by saying what she did, but it was closest to what she was truly thinking of.

Gharadi ducked down as well, looking over his shoulder to where his mother was either sleeping or looking for him angrily, either could happen. "Well, you see...I wander off sometimes..." he said flicking his tail, "I want to get stronger, make ehr proud, but I can't do it with her babying me all the time..."

His eyes traveled to where his mother would be, meh, should he get going? It would be getting late, soon, "Shiri...I think that...that I should head back, I don't want to get you in trouble or anything...don't want my friends in trouble he said with a smile," Gharadi believed Shiri was one of his friends now. Whether or not that was true.

"Promise that we can meet again sometime though? I'd like that alot Shiri," he said with a nod.

User Image Shiri was captivated by what the young lion had said. Although Shiri never had a mother babying her all of the time, she had many of the same desires and constantly tried to escape from herself to become stronger. Shiri was a rogue lioness, but she wished to join a pride one day, put her fleeting feelings aside and become a strong lioness hunter. The lioness' were incredibly important in the pride and she hoped to take the role upon herself one day. With a genuine smile, she let out a faint laugh, "That is nothing to be worried about.. although your mother might worry about you, you will certainly make her proud." by this important topic, Gharadi was able to see a much softer side to Shiri. A side that wished to give each cub the life she was unable to have.

And when Shiri was just becoming closer to the cub, she was saddened to hear that he felt the need to leave already. The sound of being called a friend was something important to Shiri and mentally, she logged the cub's scent, appearance and name for future reference. Never had the lioness busied herself with seeing others twice, but secretly the grass-colored femme wished to see the young male succeed. Perhaps she could even aid him in the future quest to become something amazing! Maybe even the leader to his own pride!

"I understand that you must leave, but certainly we shall speak again with one another. I have faith in you Gharadi.." She smiled and then glanced to the young male's mother, "Give regards to your family and if you ever need to speak, try and hunt me down.."

Gharadi smiled, flicked his tail and took a few steps towards Shiri. He knew he had to get going, but her words meant so much, she would influence him one day, he knew that very well. Perhaps they would meet again soon in the future, perhaps when he got bigger, yes, that would be nice. Then perhaps he could stay out longer, possibly even walk and talk with Shiri for a while.

"Thanks Shiri," he said softly as he nuzzled her leg (as far as he could reach). Taking a few steps back, he waved at her again before starting to pad off where his mother was. Hoping she wouldn't be too mad at him for wandering off. But hey, he was getting bigger, and he was making great friends like Shiri.

Gharadi knew they would definitely meet again.

User Image Shiri felt her body grow tense as the young lion approached her. Although she had grown fond of Gharadi, she was still uncomfortable with closeness. Letting a nervous smile replace her strange expression, she allowed him to approach her and speak. It would be wise to train herself to grow more comfortable with others, especially if she would one day decide to start a family of her own.

As the young male nuzzled at her leg, Shiri felt a strange mixture of emotions. Somehow in all of the uncomfort, Shiri had grown incredibly attached to the young lion. Perhaps it was her motherly instincts kicking it, or maybe it was still her desire to ensure his life was everything hers wasn't. With a faint smile, she watched as he eventually turned away and returned towards his parents.

Shiri tried to hold them back, but when Gharadi was far enough to not notice, a few tears slid down the lioness' cheeks. Smiling through the tears, Shiri lifted her form and began in the opposite direction.

She would ensure to find him again.
