...how the hell had she managed to get lost on the way home of all places?! Raven knew that she'd done some strange things in her time, but getting lost on the way home? Never. Never ever ever. Which made today something of a bad day, given that she was now very, very-- well, no. Not very very. Mildly. Mildly lost in the woods.
At least it was still sunset. There was still some light to see by. Yui was beginning to perk up, in any case, which meant that night was fast falling. And Raven still only had the slightest idea of which way the house was. Oh boy.
"Hello?" Raven called out, hoping she might get a friendly answer. "Anyone out there?"

Alana sighed, tromping through the woods. She'd let her daughter Naira take her little ghosty-wand thing- whose name the family was still arguing over- off to show her woodland friends. The stick seemed to like her (as Naira was one of the few people the wand hadn't tried to set on fire yet), so there wasn't a problem with it. Naira had come home chattering gaily about her visit with her woodland friends.
Alana listened patiently. "So, where is the stick?"
"Allie, it isn't a stick. It's a baby to be." the angel chided.
"That's fine. Where is it?"
The angel rolled her eyes and went to where the wand had been securely fastened. Eyes widened, and color drained out of her face. "In the woods...."
So here it was, that poor Alana was trudging through the woods, when she heard a voice calling. "Yeah, I'm here!" she called back, following the voice to Raven. "Hey!" she smiled. "This is a surprise!"

A friendly face! Someone she knew! "God, am I glad to see you," Raven grinned. "I seem to've gotten myself lost. How've you been-- and what are you doing in the woods at this hour?" It was a (most definitely pleasant) surprise to find Alana in the woods, as Raven had rather pessimistically expected someone a bit more vicious and plotting something akin to destruction and death rather than a friend.
Then again, Raven had always been a touch paranoid. It's what had kept her alive so long.

She was incredulous for a moment. "You got... lost?" she giggled, looking at Raven with undisguised mirth in her eyes. "How did you do that? Well, if you knew you wouldn't be here, would you? I've been well. Naira lost my little wand-thing in the woods." she rolled her eyes. "How have you been?" She saw something fluttering under a bush and went over to lift it up.
Aha! The dastardly devil was here! It was fortuitous raven had gotten lost when she did then. As she picked it up, her hand burst into flames. A growl, and she managed to get it out.
The ghost wavered tauntingly. Little laughing brat! She could almost hear it laughing. Or maybe she was just going insane.

Raven couldn't help but chuckle slightly after the initial panic of seeing her friend's hand catch on fire passed. "Well. Looks like you've got a little ghost now too, attached to your wand, hm? Rambunctious little thing, isn't it?"
Yui peeked out of the purse, cocking her tiny head to the side, focusing on the big blue thing. Something new! Something different!

Ghost flitted around the wand. New person?! Oh. He remembered this one. Raven, yes? It's attention flickered. Oh, a small thing, floating in Raven's... what was the word...
"Yeap. This is my little, ummm... well, according to Ianna it's a harem girl. According to Crout, it's a male, or he'll eat his hat. Not that he owns one, but you know him. He's a strange one." she rolled her eyes. "It likes to set stuff on fire." she scowled.

"Ah, yes. I noticed that," Raven bit her lip to keep from chuckling more. "Mine's a vampire-- sweet little thing, really. As of yet," Raven rolled her eyes. "Who knows what she'll be like when she gets older though-- you never know with kids."
Yui nudged her way out of the purse and flitted towards the blue thing, picking her way slowly there.

Allie grinned. "She'll suck more money than blood, but you'll love her anyways." she sounded almost rueful. "That's the curse of the mother, no matter if she's your blood, or not."
Kamil was still, watching the wisp advance. His ghostly head tilted. What was this?

"Somehow, that seems sadly true," Raven laughed, thinking of her other children. Especially Renjyo. Renjyo loved her pretties. "I adore my kids though, all..." Damn, how many of them were there now? The three girls from the mansion, the two boys, the three JRock children, the wand, the relic, and Jett, and the bird. "...the bunch of them."
Silly blue thing. Yui poked at the blue thing, wondering what it was up to.

Alana nodded. "Unfortunate attatchment." she scowled at the wand as it went floating across the clearing. "And where do you think you are going, my little pyro?"
The wand spit out a little burst of flame in annoyance, speeding further away from its mother and twirling around Yui.

"Ah, but necessary attachment. Otherwise our young wouldn't have any way to survive," Raven laughed quietly.
Loving the attention, Yui tried her best to keep her gaze on Kamil, letting out little sounds of amusement. This blue thing was funny. Interesting. Yui liked it.
"Yui, be careful--" Raven tried, rolling her eyes slightly. She hadn't realized Yui'd wandered away from her wand. "You're still tiny, little girl."

Alana made a face. "Most of my chidren are resourceful little brats." she raised an eyebrow as the wisp made little noises. "So, would you like to come back to my place for something to drink? Laertes should be off work soon, I'll have him drive you home after he gets back." the woman smiled, and reached out, trying to grab the ghost.

"That would be wonderful," Raven smiled, gently pulling Yui back to her wand. "Though I wouldn't want to impose, Allie... on you or Laertes. After all, it's not like I can't find my way home... eventually...
Back to the wand? But strange blue! Blue thing was being silly!

Alana smiled. "Nonsense. You're never an imposition Raven. You're a part of the family." she poked at the baby ghost. "Come on baby. You've been lost a little too long." The baby ghost obeyed, drifting around the wand and making it's own little noises to the pink thing. It looked so... pink.... The next noise sounded like a raspberry.
Alana smiled. "Come on then." she winked at Raven. "Nakshidil's been cooking like crazy... She's been real worried about this brat. We won't be able to eat it all alone."

...'part of the family'. Raven liked that-- especially given that her only 'family' for the longest time had been her two sisters. Perhaps that's why she overcompensated with children-- ah well. That was a thought for another day, wasn't it? "Thank you then. And I'm sure that Nakkie's cooking will be delicious. When the seasoning is care and worry, it tends to add a flavor or three."
Blowing a rasberry back at the blue thing, Yui swirled around her wand, toying with the golden Buddha statue.
