So how long has everyone been a Watase Yuu fan? And which one of her works got you started? By all means this can be long and detailed. I'm just curious ^^
I got started, like many, on Fushigi Yuugi about 5 years ago. I picked up a VHS of it in stores and started watching it. Soon it turned into an addiction. Given that at the time digi-fansubs weren't big and the DVDs were only in boxsets it took me forever before I saw the entirity of the series. I read the manga in bits in pieces where I could in English. Then shortly there after I hooked into Ayashi no Ceres, I can't exactly remember how I found out about it, but I do remember reading online translations of the manga before I watched all of the anime, and then when I finished collecting and watching the anime how disappointed I was x_x
Summer 2002 I finally got the opportunity to go abroad for a short period of six weeks to Japan and enjoy a brief homestay. I went all out buying manga while I was there. I got all 14 volumes of Ayashi no Ceres, the 9 volumes that make up the Kanzenban versions of Fushigi Yuugi, all five volumes of Imadoki, and then I found the best work of all ^^ Alice 19th!! It only got up to volume four while I was there, but I was hooked.
Since then I've managed to collect other works through conventions and a Japanese outlet mall about four hours away. More recently though, I buy my manga online ^^ I love having my own checking card hehe XD And money of course. But yea, I've since managed to gather just about all of her current works except for Epotoransu Mai, which will be coming to me tomorrow ^^
I love Watase Yuu and find her just to simply be an inspiration. I hope to continue my fandom for another five years >^^<

Less then a year. Origanaly I thought that I'd never even touch her works, but Fushigi Yuugi kept poping up in mags as being great so I had ta see it. I was so surrprised at how good it was, I started ta collect them like mad. Then I found Ceres. I kept telling myself I wouldn't start to collect Alice till the second one, but I have weak resistants to waiting for manga's. Then as soon as I heard about Imadoki I got it. 4laugh

I got started with FY in about the 8th-9th grade, so about 4-5 years ago. Didn't really get into Ceres, but then I picked up Alice 19th and automatically loved it to death. And now I've started with Imadoki and Zettai Kareshi. I've also read one of her earlier mangas, Eporotansu! Mai, and that was ok.

I got started on FY a few years ago. Nothing in particular made me pick up the manga except that it looked interesting and I had extra Muulah. :3

I think I was 10 when the english Fushigi Yuugi was in block buster and I rented it and got hooked, and watched it over and over. So 8 years I have been hooked to it.

Yeah, I started out with Fushigi Yuugi, which remains my favorite anime ever. Then I began to read Ceres, and I watched the anime too. Then I was given my first Alice 19th manga for my birthday! That's about it...so far.

It started when I rented the first tape of Fushigi Yugi three or four years back. I had to buy the tapes to follow over the following months. Then I decided to pick up the manga version to it. So far, it's my longest series and sealed my fate as an addict to Ms. Watase's work.
Over a year ago, I picked up Ceres because FY didn't have a book released that month and I was curious. Last year I started Alice 19th and need two books more before I'm finished.

about a year ago. :sigh: All that I have been missing. I herd about Fushigi yugi and when it came on I.C (International Chanel) I jumped at the chance to watch it. I loved it so much. Then I was tricked into buying Alice 19th ~1 and when I read the back it said "Another exciting series from Yu Watase, creator of smash hits Fushigi Yugi and Ceres" I wanted to keep buying it (true shoujo hater at heart, so you can imagine what all the pink on the Alice 19th cover did for a first impression sweatdrop ) At the time, I knew nothing about Ceres; but because it said "Fushigi Yugi" on the back, I went on buying it, then by my 3rd alice 19th manga I was tricked into buying Ceres. (People are crule to be) But I thank them now because if I wasn't tricked into buying it, I wouldn't be a Yu Watase fan today sweatdrop

I'd say about 4 years ago now. There has been a commercial for FY in my chinese Sailor moon DVDs when I was younger but I didn't pay much attention to them until 4 years ago. sweatdrop

I've admired Yuu Watase's art for two years, and I started buying last year. I first saw Fushigi Yuugi when I took a trip to Hong Kong. I just sat on my bed and flipped through the channels, and then I saw it! The first thing that got me interested was the artwork. I've never seen a style like it, and I loved it. As soon as I returned to the US, I ran to my computer and looked it up. A year later, I bought Alice 19th and Ceres. I've been a fan since.

I started reading Fushigi Yuugi in 9th grade which was about 5 years ago. ((in 1999 it was)), since then I was introduced to the first manga of Ceres but then no more were out so I let it lie. During this downtime, I collected the suzaku and Seiryuu Box sets for the VHS...but the Suzaku is dubbed and the Seiryuu is subbed crying ...I need to get the subbed Suzaku and dubbed Sieryuu. I have a few of the manga but not really the money to get it with. I will when I am more collector mad ^_^. I also have the other two OVA sets. Anyways, when I moved in with my roommate, she started collecting major manga/anime and we generally have the same tastes. So I was able to read up to 7 of Ceres, watch parts of the anime (havent had time to watch the rest), Alice 19th came next, then Imadoki and now I just read the Zettai Kareshi that someone so nicely provided ^_^. THANKYOU!! *huggles them*
