Dr. Peterson looked down at her waterproof watch; five minutes past three it read. Normally one doesn't wait for people who are late to a interview, but the Research Facility was fairly large and getting lost was common for a newbie.
She twirled her hair around her index finger and looked back down at the water proof watch. Her mind wandered to her research as she suddenly heard a knock on the door...
(( HINT: First impressions are everything. ))

The girl stood at attention, waiting for her signal to enter. A shallow puddle of indescribable content rippled and contorted about her lower appendages as they shuffled slightly, causing more of the substance to come forth. The hallway was also lined with gooey footprints. Why such a gathering of slime? Well - although the doctor had not yet laid eyes upon her, the staff had come around all too well to the startling realization of the first applicant having arrived. Some one was surely in hot water now, for the girl was no girl. The girl was a mollusk! Incandescent tentacles contorted as breath expelled from some hidden organ, the sound of such a writhing mass resulting in a rather foreign interpretation to their language. "May I come een?"

The young woman came rushing down the hallway, checking her collar nervously as she approached the door to which there was already another waiting outside who was knocking. She hated being late and she hated being lost - it was just her luck that both had happened today. Normally she gave herself ample time to get anywhere, often leaving especially early to ensure a proper arrival. However, she hadn't blocked in enough time to get as thoroughly turned around as she had in this place.
She calmed her fast walk as she came closer to the door, slowing down and taking a few breaths to help calm her nerves. It would be even less polite of her to enter this meeting panting and looking frenzied. She pushed her long, slightly curly brown hair over her shoulder before adjusting the brown strap of her messenger bag.
She'd been expecting another candidate for lab assistant at this meeting, but was thoroughly surprised to note that she wasn't human. She didn't want to be rude and not introduce herself, yet at the same time she didn't want to appear rude to the Doctor that they were meeting by being engaged in a conversation when she opened the door. To settle it all, she said a small greeting before averting her eyes to the door expectantly.

Hearing the first applicants voice, DR. Peterson rose form her spot in her chair and rose to open the door for them with a smile. "Please come in." Though the Dr. greeted them with a static expression on her face, on the inside she was jumping for joy at the sight of the two applicants. Especially the first. Goey and not human! Her favorite!
"Please, both of you, take a seat." She murmured, offering the two chairs before her desk to them before seating herself down. "I trust you both didn't have TOO much trouble finding my office?"

She met the opened door with a smile on her face, nodding pleasantly as she slipped inside the office. Paige took a moment to look around at her surroundings before taking the offered seat, slipping out a note of thanks.
The smile on her face was gentle if a little nervous as she spoke, "I'm afraid I did get a little lost on the way here. I must have taken a wrong turn in one of the hallways... and maybe another one at some point." She chuckled slightly, trying her best to cover up the slight blush to her face. Paige's attention then shifted politely to the other applicant, awaiting her response to the question as well.

The girl plodded in and took instant notice of the chambers' keeper. Her tentacle adorned freatures seemed to light up, enhanced by the golden strands that framed her visafe and the bubbly sunset optics. Said features had fixated themselves resolutely upon the good doctor and as common courtesy, she offered up her 'hand' (or rather tenctacle). "Ees good tu meet you. My name eesh Crystahl (Crystal)! Ees verry nice of you to ask, but I deedn't get lost! Nice aneemahl control showed me zee way."

"Hello Crystal. Ahhhh. I understand." Dr. Peterson smiled, looking to Paige. "And you must be Paige, yes?" She murmured, grabbing a file form her desk and whipping it open with a flick of her wrist. "Regardless of lateness, I'm glad you both came. I've already had my interviews with the other applicants and was eagerly awaiting your own. So far I'm extremely pleased wit the people who've turned out."
She adjusted her glasses quietly and set the folder down on her desk, clasping her hands and placing her elbows on it as she leaned forward. She gave them a smile and spoke. "Anyone hungry? I coudl really use a sandwich right now."

Paige nodded a bit, feeling a little embarassed for not introducing herself as her companion had. "Oh, yes, but it's alright. Getting lost on occasion helps you learn things better later." She smiled brightly now, feeling a little more relaxed around Crystal and Dr. Jenkins as her initial nervousness faded. Setting her bag on the floor beside the chair, she quickly turned her attention back to her interviewer.
"I'm alright, but thank you very much for the offer." She felt a little awkward again, unsure of what title or how to properly address the doctor. Hopefully, she didn't seem to be too oblivious. Things weren't very strict in her previous jobs.
((I may be a little off and on this weekend - I have two midterms next week that I need to study for. ^.^; My apologies.))
