Medea
Mecca watched the flames from the window of the bedroom with a certain amount of distaste. He may not be one to care about people or their lives but he had a respect. Chaos without reason irritated him beyond belief. It was needless. Mecca disliked most people, but that pair he was wary of. Very wary.
Sighing he ran his fingers through his hair and watched as his beloved boats burned like cheap firewood. The orange glow reached into the room, bathing him in a flickering light.

Covet had heard them leave and Mecca’s return to the room not long after. Her strength was slow to return but when he did not come to her, she managed to open her eyes slowly. She was confused at first. The room was dark except for an odd orange flickering light. Turning her head she saw that the fireplace in the room remained cold.
“Me-chan what’s going on?” she asked softly, attempting to sit up so she could see what it was he was watching.

Mecca turned to look at her and smiled thinly.
"They burned the boats." He said pulling the heavy velvet curtains shut and turning back to her. "Just what Shutensa doesn't need. More idiots." Frowning a little he started to remove his shirt so he could return to the sleep he was so rudely woken from.
"How are you feeling?" He asked, softer. "Did it go away?"

“They? The two shu who were just in here?” she asked, frowning as she watched him. That seemed odd. Why would they help her and then do something so horrible? She shoved those thoughts aside, too weary to think on such a random act of cruelty.
“I feel like I could sleep for a week, and yes. It’s gone. I could feel it leave,” she replied, stifling a yawn. “Where did they come from? Why were they here?”

Mecca shook his head.
"I have no idea." He said climbing between the covers next to her. "They wanted the ball of magic we released. It appears they wish to use it for some kind of mayhem." He frowned again and shifted close to her so that he could pull her into his arms.
"They don't matter now." He said stroking her hair. "As long as you are well."

Covet listened to him closely and allowed him to pull her close, but she frowned as she buried her face into his chest. She concentrated on his hand on her hair for a moment, then slowly sat up to look down at him in the darkness.
“You gave them the ball? You gave it to them knowing what it can do and knowing that they are planning to use it? Why would you do that Mecca?” she asked, the frown still marring her brow.

"Because they promised to make you better." He said, looking at her in confusion. "I don't give a damn what they do with the thing as long as it's not near you." He sighed and sat up, looking down at her with an irritated glare. She had to spoil things. "The woman, she was a sage. I saw her familiar. What would you have me do? Get myself killed for the greater good?" He gave a small snort of laughter. "I'm sorry Covet, but I don't do those kinds of heroics. They promised to make you better; I took them up on it."
Ceeda
Covet watched and listened to him. She pushed herself up and waited a moment before pushing herself up off the bed. Putting a hand over her head, she made her way to the window and parted the drapes. She stared at the panic on the docks and the bright flames reaching towards the sky.
“You’re nothing but a selfish coward then,” she said. “I would rather have been driven mad or killed then let shu like them have something that powerful. Did you tell them how to open it?” she asked, turning slightly to look at him in the dim light.
