I had a pain in my side last week and went to the Er. Now I know why my husband and I are having problems getting pregnant. Turns out I have a cyst on my right ovary, that is causing my period to be irregular. So, now I have an appointment with a GYN to get it fixed up so hopefully my husband and I can have our first child soon.
Has anyone here had a cyst, and what did the GYN do about it?

I've had cysts before. I had one on my ovary that was large and farely soild, almost more like a tumor the doctor said. I had it removed surgically. The sugery was not to bad at all. I hope this help you to finally become pregnant. Best wishes.

I don't have any experience, but my mother had cysts (and had 6 kids) on hers. If I recall they ended up doing a hysterectomy after she had the last one. I also have a friend who had one ovary removed and she has kiddos too. I hope everything goes smooth for you, keep us updated.

xd Thanks guys!
I got in two weeks (Oct 16) to my first ever GYN appointment. I'm excited and not so excited at the same time. I'm a little worried about all that will happen, but glad to be getting this fixed so my husband and I can move on with our life :3

I had a 5 cm cyst removed from my right ovary when I had the C-section with my youngest child. It was not a big deal really. I hope that this is why you were having trouble but you may want to explore the other options. A hysterosalpingiogram can be both diagnostic and theraputic as it can open blocked falopian tubes sometimes.
Worked for me!

I have had cysts before, but never any that caused me problems. Mention polycystic ovaries to your Gyno & see what he/she says. My sister told me about it & if that's what you have you might need to be treated before you are able to concieve...
