The Royal City of Cameliard

The hilltop city of Cameliard looms over the coutryside, visible for many miles from every direction. The two roads leading up opposite sides of the Great Hill are wide and beaten, home to traffic of all sorts. Farms and small homesteads line the outer limits of the city, the buildings growing more and more crowded until you reach the Great Outer Gates of the city. One of two such gates in the outermost wall of the city, passing through these gates will take you into the Royal City proper, largest city in all of Avalana and home to the West's Royal Palace and most dangerous political games.

The Royal Capital of Cameliard is the single largest city in all of Western Gaia. It sits in the center of Avalana, a gathering place for peoples of all territories. Thus, it is the center of trade and government for the West. The inner city circle sits on the top of hill, overlooking the countryside around it, and the city spreads down the hill. There are a number of walls separating the city into 4 rings because of the expansion of the city beyond its walls, and the building of new walls to protect the new expansions.

King Aethelred the Pure of the house of Wessex resides in the royal palace complex along with his family. This monarchy has ruled the West for 1,375 years and wields the divine right of the Elementals. Many nobles and noteworthies also have quarters in the palace in the event they should choose to visit Cameliard for festivities, or be called into court. The palace lies in the heart of Cameliard, and the city has grown up in rings around it. If you have a business/inn/residence that you wish to be placed on the map, PM Songjewel with the location.

City Map - Remember, the city extends beyond its walls. Also, the Royal complex is HUGE; remember, this is the biggest city in avalana.

Palace Grounds Map - The Palace is, of course, multiple levels. Most of the upper levels are private residential chambers and meeting rooms.

Anyone who wants to have or already has a character from the west with a business or a house in Cameliard, PM Songjewel about it so she can put you on the map!

About Avalana

Avalana is separated into territories, each one being ruled by a duke/duchess. How many, what they are called, and who rules them will not be determined until I have that bloody map!!! Avalana runs on the fuedal system: each Duke or Duchess owes fealty to the King of Avalana and has underlings beholden to them. The King can bestow or revoke the title of Duke/Duchess and invest new ones if he so chooses.

Terminology in Avalana: (if your character is uncertain of how to address someone, My Lord and My Lady are always acceptable)

Rank - address - description

King - Your Majesty - Monarch of Avalana, has the final say on territorial disputes and control of the armed forces of Cameliard. Dukes owe fealty to him.

Duke/Duchess - Your Grace - Ruler of a territory of Avalana. Owe fealty to the King, and are landed nobles (i.e. their family owns the land that comes with their title). Each has quarters in the Royal Palace.

Baron/Baroness - Your Excellency -Landed nobles of a lesser degree than the Dukes and Duchesses. Owe fealty to one of the Dukes/Duchesses and have homesteads in the territories. Some have quarters in the Royal Palace.

Court Baron/Baroness - Your Excellency - NON-landed nobility, title bestowed by the King or Duke/Duchess for non-fighting service. Most of these live in the Royal City's inner circle and have nice, big houses, but no land outside their dwellings in the city.

Knight - Sir/Dame - Warrior who has shown great prowess on the field and in the courtly art of chivalry. Bestowed by the King. Gives a rank equal to Court Baron/Baroness but has different responsibilities. Not all warriors are Knights goddammit!!! scream

Elemental Avatars - Your Holiness -

High-Rank Priests - Your Eminence -

The clop-clop of pack horses sounded throughout the streets of the city as merchants got an early start. It was barely past dawn, and one teenage girl walked among the mass of people entering the city for their daily work.

She clutched a gitar to her chest, not trusting the crowd enough to tie it onto her pack as she usually did. The city rose up, and up, and up...and she didn't even know where to start.

Evalie looked around her nervously and began the trek around the outer circle of the city, looking carefully for any busking musicians or musical shops along the way.

Slifer walked slowly into town. It had been a while and he was down on supplies. His cloak masked his face in shadow. He didn't like people knowing his race. Besides people asked questions. Questions he didnt want to answer. His eyes traced over the outer circle. Spying someone clutching a guitar he smiled.

He had no money, so he made what he could by stealing. He hated it, despised it. But if he needed to live, others must make sacrifices. Stalking behind her for some time he waited until she moved into an alley. He always kept distance, making sure that he wasn't seen by her. From the bottom of his dark cloak a tail flicked.

His ears picked up almost every noise, eyes spying into darkness. The moment she went into an alley, to take a shortcut perhaps, and she was his. He always left his victims alive, he hated killing, needless death. He was just trying to avenge a needless death, mainly his parents.

((er...sorry slifer, but she's not going into any alleys anytime soon. Evalie's looking for a particular shop.))

In the crowded streets, Evalie would scarcely have noticed anyone purposely following her among the many people bustling along. She held her light cloak close to her body to avoid having it snagged on a passer-by's clothing, and followed the curve of the main road until she spotted a swinging sign just above head level.

On the sign was a symbol that looked like a crown of leaves with a harp inside of it, and under that were words:

"Bardic Circle: OCB," Evalie read out loud. She stopped in front of the door and squared her shoulders, trying to look less intimidated than she felt.

'click...clack...click...clack...click..'

Each movement seemed to sound off the very walls about the small creature as it moved. Silent, slipping through the shadow of a building like a wraith. None could have seen such a small creature of such ebony hue. Even less chance of it being noticed due to how low this creature was to the ground. Very likely to be mistaken for a cat or a dog perhaps? Any small animal could have been a look alike for this beast were it not for one major factor. Dogs and cats do not have wings or a shell as the creature's wings looked with them folded down over it's back. Yet the way of movement was more then correct to be a four legged animal. Crouched over with clawed hands placed upon the ground like front legs and the back legs in much the same position. This creature propelled itself forward with each movement quickly in what could have been a gallop. Even as it's front legs impacted with the ground only to push off and forward, the back would impact to do the same. The slender tail flailed through the air behind this running creature, flicking back and forth like a whip in the air. It never moved down though. Instead the tail stayed held into the air at a subtle upward angle.

What this creature could have been was a question within itself. With a snout that protruded outward in what could have been a dogs muzzle, complete with two oval shaped nostrils at the tip. A thin line went up the snout on either side to form what could have been lips. There was not pale flesh surrounding these lip's though, only a continuation of the same black leathery-looking skin that covered the rest of it's form. Little more then an inch above the base of this snout were the creatures eyes. A mixture of colors that reminded one of a reptile, the iris shaped like those of a human. Where the pupil was dark, shadow-like in appearance, the iris was a very deep shade of green. Emerald perhaps? Maybe jade? In truth the color did not matter that much. It was made to look brighter by the rest of the creature's eye. This was yellow, a dark off-color shade of yellow that was far from appealing. These orbs appeared sunken deep within the beast's sockets, as if it's skull made an attempt to swallow these disturbing oculars. Yet they would not be held in a straight forward stare as they so appeared. No, these oculars would dance from side to side in a look that could only be caution. The creature did not truly hold the appearance of one frightened, only one who did not wish to be seen. This was a task easily accomplished due to small size and dark visage.

There were smaller factors about this creature that could have been noticed upon a longer glance. That would mean that the Imp would be forced to stop though. It seemed to have no intention of doining that though as it's movements instead sped up. Both wrists adorned a thin band of white that looked to be made of beads. Yet upon closer inspection it would be seen for what it was, a wide array of small bones that could only come from an animal. A necklace of much the same make adorned the Imp's neck, though this one was obviously made up of skulls picked clean of flesh. These were the only things resembling clothing upon the creature's body. Other then these, nothing existed to cover up it's pale dark flesh. There was no reason for such modesty to hide though. Even were the imp to stand up straight to it's far from considerable height, roughly that of a cat standing, it did not have anything that was improper to be seen. Nothing lay in wait to be seen between it's legs, nothing was to be seen beneath it's swishing tail. It seemed to possess no form of waste disposal to explain how the rat flesh, which it had obviously eaten by the stench of blood around it, could have excaped it's body. Then again, it did aid the Imp in fighting of hunger due to the ability to hold all of it's food inside. Then again, small size made food a very rare requirement on occasion.

Upon this day though food was far from the Imp's mind. Only a need to get where it was goining. How long had it been traveling through this city? A day? A week? More then once it had been forced to stop and hide behind trash or in an abondened home. There had been other places of hiding along the way from the Temple of Darkness to where it now was. Not the least, the one that would never be mentioned, being when the Imp had kicked a pet out of it's own house. This had been the night before. Unluckily for the dog that had occupied the dog-house, Mammon had spotted the little building of rest. It could have brought a smile to the Imp's face at rememberance of how the creature had howled. It had been stupid enough to try and resist Mammon's occupation of it's home. Thus the Imp had been left with no choice but to introduce the animal to it's claws. At this moment Mammon was quite sure that a dog wandered the streets of Cameliard sporting claw-marks across it's eyes. It had been late when the imp had spotted the small refuge from the elements, thus Mammon had been in all too happy to spot the place. So it had very likely put one of the golden colored dog's eyes out, what did it matter. A night of rest was worth whatever it would unfortunately cost.

It did not seem that Mammon would excape Cameliard upon this day either though. First off the imp had awoken late, late within the afternoon. To slip from alley to alley, often having to wait until the people were gone, was a slow method of travel. Yet to walk down the streets alone would have likely been disasterous. Thus Mammon was left with no choice but to wait around in diffrent areas until the way was clear, then make a dash for it. Only once had the creature been seen. Luckily, it had been a child who laid eyes upon it. Children were often not beleived when they said they had seen a demon. Parent's beleived far too well in the prophecy preached in the little boy who cried wolf. They thought their children merely said this for attention. No, they would not have beleived that their children had actually seen the creature descriped. The event had made Mammon a bit more cautious though, as it should have. The child could just have easily been a full-grown adult or a knight weilding a sword. Either would have just as likely been ready to draw a weapon and end the creature's life forever. Thus it was left with no choice but to lurk amongst the shadows. And lurk it did, slipping around like a creature allergic to the light of day.

---[ OOC: Oh well, I am now too tired to keep on talking. I quess that means that I will finish up this post tomorrow. And if I do not finish it up, then I will just move on with the story of teh Imp. On that note, take pity on the dog! ]---

((he can be patient))

Slifer watched her say the name outloud. He noticed it was a shop. A music shop, he liked music, he just couldn't play it. Sighing he waited for her to go in, then he would follow a few minutes later. He wasn't going to give up that easy. He had marked her as a target, and a target she will be.

His katana rested upon his back, he moved it slightly before leaning against a wall. Watching her he smiled. Suddenly his smile was replaced with a look of rage. He spun around fiercly and before he knew what he was doing he let out a mighty hiss. His eyes dilated as pain rushed up his tail. Someone had stepped on it.

The hiss was loud, albeit it got people's attention, however that wasn't the worst part. Before he could control himself claws burst from his knuckles into the mans cheek. It wasn't a deadly blow, but it was a gory one. People began pointing at him and whispering. Cursing he didn't know what to do. Chances were he would be arrested

Theodore Exian had just arrived in Cameliard by carriage, when he realized something. He'd forgotten his materials. Snapping his fingers he cried out in dismay.

Ack- Damnit!

There he was, an alchemist without his materials. He didn't know if there were any alchemists even in the city that he could scrounge some from. He just started walking because he knew that he needed some kind of shelter.

Stupid, stupid, stupid! How could I forget my supplies?

He knocked himself in the head as he walked to what he thought was an inn. It wasn't... quite. It was more a cathouse than an inn. His eyes grew in size and he quickly excused himself, shouldering one of his bags and removing the worn-out hat from his head to cover his red face. A couple of the girls tried to tell him it was ok, but he just kept on walking, eventually placing the hat back on his head.

Ok Theodore, let's try paying some attention to where your walking, ok?

It wasn't long before he had doubled back and went back into the cathouse.

Ummm, any of you girls know where I can find a room?

Why yes, sugah. Right in here.

Theodore's eyes widened as he realized where he had ended up... again.

No, i mean like an inn. Where can I find an inn? No offense ladies but i'm not interested in this place as of yet.

Oh, well in that case, there's an inn just down the street.

Thanks, um... yeah. I'll be going now.

Theodore followed her instructions and arrived at the Jackrabbit Inn. He opened the door and proceeded to the checkout line, his bags already becoming more a burden than just luggage.

Ah, hello sir, can I help you?

Yes, i'm looking for a room for a short while.

Alright, how long will you be in town?

I don't know, can we work out a monthly fee?

Theodore's tone and face made it clear that he wasn't expecting it to be possible.

Certainly sir, that's a simple enough plan. You can pay at the end of every month.

Ah, that sounds excellent. In that case can I get a room now? These bags are somewhat hefty.

Certainly, let me see... Ah yes, room number 4A. Just down the hall, and the second door on your left.

Ah, thank you very much.

Theodore headed down the hall, and through some miracle of dexterity managed to unlock and open the door without setting his bag down. He stumbled through and dropped his bags. Relieved at the weight that was no longer hanging off of his arms, he flopped down on the bed and started thinking of what he wanted to do now that he was here.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 05, 2004 2:07 am

Theodore got up and shuffled through his bags, unpacking his things and placing them into the bureau that sat across the room. And once he had emptied his bag, he grabbed his hat and stood in the doorway for 5 minutes.

Why did I go here? Oh right, I was going outside.

Theodore placed his hat on his head and walked out with a purpose. He was going to go get something to eat and no one was going to stop him.

Unless he ended up in that cathouse... AGAIN.

Ok, where's a tavern? Ugh, those nice girls might know.

He took two steps before stopping and stomping once.

No, that's a brothel, and that's not a good place to constantly go to when I want directions.

He walked back into the inn, got directions from the innkeeper, and then headed out towards a small tavern. He wanted hot soup and some meat. And he was going to get it, come hell or high water.

Rape Me Tender

Mammon had been deep in thought upon the lenght of it's dash. Yet sounds erupting from before it brought the Imp back to reality. Screams echoed down the alley walls to fall upon the Imp's ears. One sounded distinctly human, most likely a man. Yet there were others alongside it, none of which were very appealing. Why were people screaming? Had it been spotted? Were they coming to kill the Imp even as it crouched down in thought. No! They would not catch it! This thought almost screamed itself within the Imp's head as it turned and bolted the other way. The claws upon it's feet and arms resounded through the alley with each movement. No longer was stealth key but had instead been replaced by speed. Mammon had to get out of there before it was seen once more. In truth it did not even know if it had been seen, yet paranoia would keep one safe far better then stupidity.

This ideal would not seem to work in Mammon's favor this time around though. As the Imp bolted down the alley it completely missed the convient turn it meant to make, instead hurtling forward. As fast as it's short legs and arms would carry it the creature ran. All thought had been dismissed in a need to get away. To get far away from the source of that scream that would draw people unto it. Obviously though more thought should have been put into it's run. For without knowing the Imp dashed out into the street, racing across the earth as if the hounds of hell persued it. For only a second Mammon would tilt it's head to the side to allow sight over it's shoulder. Yet another mistake to add to the list.

Mammon felt the impact before actually see'ing it. The Imp's snout collided with something solid only seconds before the rest of it's body followed. Wings spread outward purely by instinct as if to fly away, yet they did nothing more then send it further off balance. Down it fell to the ground unto it's side. Fortunately this provided an excellent glance at what it had impacted with. A person! In the imp's need to excape it had collided with the very thing it sought to avoid. For above Mammon stood a man with short blonde hair with a hat. That was all the Imp needed to go on the defensive. Before the man would even be given a chance to direct his attention downward Mammon had snapped to attention. Wings came together and then out, propelling the Imp unto it's feet. Two quick jumps back would put distance between them, the imp bringing it's wicked claws up in what could have been a fighting stance. What could have been one were it not for the fact it looked quite unsteady toppling on the claws of it's feet. Still, Mammon would say nothing, expecting the man above him to run in fear.

Lady Serefina De Mournay had escaped again. The tutor sighed once more as one of the house guards came back to report to him, so HE could then find her brother and let him know. Lord Anastazi De Mournay was not going to be pleased with his sister or her tutor. It wasn't his fault she refused to stay indoors unless he was teaching something about the eastern lands. The tutor mentally sighed while he went out to find the young lord and see if he would know where the young woman had run off to. "It's almost enough to make me want to resign"

Meanwhile, Serefina was having the time of her life, her thighs pressed against her the barrel of her stallion , her head low against the neck of her mount as she galloped through the fields outside of Cameliard. She was an excellent horsewoman and had no need for a crop, a gentle nudge from her knees more than enough to guide her mount.

It was very undiginified for a lady of her stature to be riding on a stallion but it was her personal mount, gotten after a bit of a fit from her when Anastazi had tried to give her a gently ladies mount for her last birthday. Her hair was loose for once and her wimple long since lost as she flew through the fields, her blue eyes lit with pleasure as her face flushed.

Yet another boring lesson on proper deporement avoided. She was free at least till Anastazi hunted her down or the idiot house guards managed to do something sucessful and maybe oh geez ask someone if they had seen a young noble woman on a black destier. How hard would it be, but then again how smart did one have to be to aspire to be a house guard.

She would have at least an hour free to herself before reporting for dinner, most likely with yet another boring diplomat or potential suitor for her. He was determined it seemed to marry her off before she could even decide what she wanted to do with her life. Well, whatever it was marrying and bearing wasn't one of them.

Serefina was sorely tempted to go hunting but Stazi would probably not let her go to Laburnum with him if she came back to the house bloody and with hares hinged on her saddle. It was bad enough she had left and stolen his saddles instead of her own side saddle but to come back to dinner in a state of disarray beyond her lost wimple, she would be severly restricted.

So she simply rode, freer than she had felt in far too long of a time. Her hair flying behind her as she gave the destier his reins and let him ride as he wished, traversing the plains before deciding on a bit of target practice. She did see several trees ahead of her, and drew the composite bow from it's anchor, carefully displacing her weight leaning forward just slightly as she drew the bow and situated the air all within a moment of time, the twang of the arrow flying through the air raising the hair upon her neck, landing just where she thought it should, perfect as always.

One of these daysSerefina was sure she would convince Stazi to get her a proper Dai-kyu and Ya, perhaps for her birthday, which was coming up soon. Afterall, they were going to meet some easterners in Laburnum soon, surely she could find one she wanted there and have it sent home, Such a fine weapon would surely take time to build. Firing off another few shots as she rode, her knees giving gentle prods to her destier for directions as she rode past, stopping only to pull the arrows from her targets.

She was lucky he hadn't found the Kanzashi, she had purchased from a dealer in the eastern part of town on their last trip to Laburnum. That was her own little secret. He thought they were simple ornaments, then again he thought the houseguards were enough for anyone. For one so clever in politics and intrigue he didn't seem to know too much when it came to his little sister.

Then again....Serefina took a quick turn around and checked over her shoulder as she sat back in her seat, putting the boxs and arrows back into place, surely he wouldn't have her followed by something more subtle than the house guards would he...? Now that she thought about it he was always very careful and never seemed to leave so little to chance. She was also a tool he was planning on using at some point, he just hadn't decided in which manner she would be most useful.....yet.

Pulling the destier's reins, she came to a halt at the edge of the field she was on and looked around before deciding that perhaps she should head back before she got into any more trouble than she would already for ditching the guards. She did want to still go to laburnum after all. As the stallion plodded along she looked around for her wimple, for now she would play his games but it wouldn't be forever. She would explore and see the world. She refused to believe he would look her away bearing children just for an alliance, he spoiled her far too much, he wouldn't be that cruel.

With this thought running through her mind, trying to convince herself of this, she turned the mount toward Cameliard proper. Her head held high as befitted a lady of her station, she would not go before Stazi as if she was ashamed or embarrassed by her little adventure. Sere's hair flew about her face as if wisps of spun sun burnished gold, her cornflower blue eyes taking in the workers in the field. Blinking her long blond lashes against her cheeks, her right hand lifted to block the light. Stazi could be doing soemthing to help him but instead choose to make himself more comfortable.

She couldn't understand that mindset, the elements had placed a charge on the nobles to take care of those under them. It was a system of balance. Everyone has an equal counterpart. Light to Dark, Fire to Water , Earth to Air, Man to Woman. Neither is whole without the other. Her former eastern Tutors had made sense. Without balance there was but Chaos.

Waving to a few of the peasants working the fields even as the daylight fell from the land, the horse plodded along as if sensing his mistress's displeasure at having his and her fun ruined. Sere leaned down and kissed the horse neck "At least you are going with me to Laburnum, even if I do have to put a side saddle on you" Rubbing his neck with the palm of her gloved hand. At least Stazi wasn't being idiotic about that fact, they would make far better time if they rode, than in a carriage. She thought he only was willing so he wouldn't have leave Camelaird for too long. He didn't like leaving anything in anyone elses hands probably.

"Psst. Chicken lady. Wake up. We got a favor to ask you."

"Mmmmmmmmm..." Clet mumbled and rolled over, away from the speaker. She was going to stay asleep. She was dreaming she was living in a city filled only with chickens, and she didn't want to go back to Cameliard right now.

There was a sharp peck in her shoulder, and her small silver eyes flew open. Henry had poked her with his beak, and William and The Third were standing behind him, looking at her with their beady black eyes. They were relieved she had woken up, she knew. Whatever this favor was, it must be pretty important.

"Ah, good, you're awake," the man said, grinning at the perpetually disheveled woman as she picked herself up off the floor of the alleyway in which she slept. Thieves, mainly, populated this place in the outermost ring of Cameliard, and the streets were said to be a dangerous place to sleep. However, the thieves here liked Clet. She was simple-minded, kind, and had no idea they were thieves. In short, she was very easily taken advantage of. Before they discovered this, one poor fool had tried to rob her while she slept and got the ends of her roosters' knives. This was the main reason they had come to discover they liked Clet; now the gentlemen aided the roosters in keeping her safe.

"Listen, chicken lady, I was thinking...well, a few of us got to thinking, really, it was a group effort." The thief grinned broadly, showing his yellowed teeth. "Why don't you have your roosters put on a show? I bet people would give you some money just to see it. See, you could put a little veil on one of them, and make it play the girl, then the other two could be a couple knights, quarreling over her. They could play fight, see? People'd love it! And we'll help you out with the costumes. How's that sound?"

Clethia Apollo considered it. She was running short on money, and it had been a while since anyone had hired her...anything was worth a try. "What do you guys think?" she asked, gray orbs turning to regard her roosters, Henry, William, and The Third. Their answers, though silent, were shockingly affirmative. Clet looked back up at the nice man and grinned. "They'll do it!" she declared.

"Good, good..." the thief said. "Alright, come on, we'll help you get set up..."

***

Moments later, they had Clethia on the side of a street most likely to be crowded at this time. The Third was wearing a veil, and William and Henry had small strips of fabric on them that looked like capes. Clethia was playing the part of a priest, looking about to marry Henry and the Third, when suddenly William stormed the wedding.

"I object!" Clethia shouted as William. "Cluckina does not love you...her heart belongs to me!"

She scurried about so that she was behind Henry. "How dare you enter here, knave?! Cluckina is mine!"

A crowd slowly gathered as Henry and William began to duel, slashing lightly at one another with the curved knives strapped in the place of their natural spurs. No one noticed a few thieves slipping in and out of the throng, making sure each passerby contributed...

((Clethia can be anywhere you would like her to be. Perhaps she could draw some of the attention away from Slifer?))

Rose let out a small sigh of releif a small smile was plastered on her lips. She always enjoyed sessions that went well and having a ride through the countryside made the day seem perfect. She closed her eyes and took a whiff of the air a small breeze blowing by leaving her long hair to move about around her. Her worries and her cares seem to fly away with the wind, she opened her eyes and look to the horizon muttering to herself "Perfect."

Rose was straddld over her saddle, not sitting to the side like most women did. She always thought sitting sidesaddle was painful and suicide if ever there was a need to ride quickly. Meny of the more respectable men of the Western country always thought iof it as undigniffied. She on the other hand prefered to be comfortable rather than be proper. Besides men didn't ride side saddle why should she? Rose smile widen as sherembered the past in wich more than one time a noble tried to make her change her ways. "Those where the days" she mubled to herself quietly.

Rose was riding down the road on her way to a small town close to labrumn where she planned to stay the night before heading to the city. She was dressed in her usual attire of red but over her heart was a silver embroidery of a gavel. It was a marking of her status to show all that she was the head of the Silver Arbiters. She didn't like the idea of being put over others but knew that it was necessary to have a leader an example a representative. She let out a small sigh looking over the horizon she would b e back in Labrum soon and wouldn't be able to enjoy the sights mutch longer. She would become swamped with work and be surrounded by cities buildings when she returned. "All good things must come to an end" she said to herslf again this time a little louder than before.

Slifer looked around the area. People had seemed to loose interest. He had been lucky this time. He kept walking along. As he walked he saw what the people were crowding around. It appeared to be some rabid woman fighting about chickens.

He needed money though. Damnit, he had ruined his chance now. He sat in an alleyway and began to curl up. He was so hungry, and his cloak was getting hot. He slipped down the cloak in the alleyway.

Smiling he looked around, he liked to have his hood down, it was cool and refreshed him. Smiling as he watched people pass. No one noticed him, or looked at him, he hated being looked at. When he was young he had been bullied at school. People called him a half breed, a filthy inbred. He shook his head

But on the more pressing issue, if he didn't get something to eat he was going to pass out, there was no two ways about it...

On her way back to the city she thought she saw another rider, but one who held their saddle a bit better than any of her brothers house guards. Nudging her knees into the destier, she moved towards the other rider a bit, they seemed to be headed down the road to Laburnum. Perhaps she could pick up some info before they headed there in the morning, that was sure to put her back in Stazi's good grace "Hey Ho" calling out a standard greeting to horseman as her hand reached up to way slightly.

Sere was fairly certain she would be allowed to talk to whoever it was, after all, not many besides rich merchants and nobles could afford a horse of any kind meant to be ridden and not as a workhorse. Her hair glinted in the fading light as she hailed the other rider pulling her horse upside the other ....woman? She pulled a bit harsher on the reins than she had meant to so startled was she by the woman, who happened to be riding astride like herself.

"Pardon, good eve" not sure what else to say at the moment, so in shock as she was. She finally had proof she wasn't the only woman who rode astride. She was also wearing some type of uniform but she couldn't make out the details in the sharp sunlight.

Her mind was brought back from wandering when she heard a greating. She blinked a few times waiting for her mind to come back to her to see who it was who addressed her. When it all came back to her the other rider had already came foward, formalities instantly came to mind of wich she pushed away. She wasn't on duty and doubt anyone would recognize her besides sometimes it was just better to be polite.

"She gave a slight bow of the head and slowed down her horse a bit "Good evening Madam" She said in a very fluent Western. Her eyes from that point instantly scanned over her, looking to see if she ould get any clues as to who the person was and how to react. It was skill most useful to her it always helped out how to know how to react when trying to settle differences.
