With the morning hunt out of the way, Jamaa was free for a while before protrolling the pack lands. As the Pack's Kaa'Kingojo, he has to guard it and protect it from any foreign invader. Lately with the new addition to the pack, he has been a little...distracted. Agizo, Kianjahe, and Ryega, all of them were young and he wanted to spend some time with them when he could. But lately, Ryega has shown signs of illness. Concerned, Jamaa has been keeping a very close eye on the blind wild dog pup.
Jamaa looked around the den to find only a few of the members there, but not the one he wanted. He disliked the idea of his son alone, being blind could get him into danger. Jamaa has yet to teach him how to hunt and the method Jamaa has always used would pose a hard challenge for one that could not see.
Ryega was not one to wander off, so where could he be? Jamaa knew that Ryega loved to play with Agizo a lot, could not be around the poor pup unless you hear his brother's name at least once. Jamaa always wondered why, but he didn't want to prey into his son's secrets, if any. He did play with his older siblings, Demani and Tahupotiki.
"Ryega? Where are you?" he called out, his golden eyes scanning around the path, his nose trying to catch his scent, and his ears listening to anything that would signal the pup's whereabouts. Now, why can't he just sit still like a good little boy?

The red pup had left the den in the early hours when his father left to retrieve food. He was growing to his inabilities and making the use he had of it. Sharpened scent, hearing, and feeling. Ryega just wanted to be left alone sometimes, that way he would have nothing to fear. All his life he could not see a thing. He could not see the morning sun. He could see the night full moon. He could not see the pack lands he was born and raised in. He could not see wonderious skies above his head. He could not see those around him. He could not see the one who truely meant a lot to him. He could not even see himself. All he could see was what he imagined everything as it was. The pure red sun that heated everything, the blue moon that turned the things in the dark blue, he soft and squishy ground he felt under his paws, the large white sheet that hovered over his head, the strange images of those around him from what he remembered from touching them, but what he wanted to see most of all was the one he trusted. He remembered his scent well, his features, and his voice, he was the only thing that was so clear in his mind...or what he thought as clear. He wished he could just see him once to confirm it all and be happy.
His eyes perked and swiveled when his name was called. That voice....that scent....his father? Jamaa? What did he want now? Lately, it would seem that whereever he went his father would be around to give him company, one that he did not want. He just felt smothered under it all. He just wanted to be alone.
Ryega remained silent and sat in his spot. A soft sigh left his maw.

Jamaa let out a breath of relief when he spotted that odd red pelt nearby. The strange thing was that out of all of the wild dogs Jamaa had raised and loved, Ryega stood out by his pelt alone. Temari's golden, luxurious fur, the teal markings of her first litter of Kizaki, Demani, and Tahupotiki, Jamaa's muddy brown colors like Agizo and Kianjahe, but Ryega was different. Unlike any of his other siblings or parents, he was red, a deep crimson red. Why? Where did it come from? What did it symbolize? How did he obtain it? Who did he inherit it from?
Jamaa came up from behind and nuzzled into him softly before pulling him close.
"Ryega, what did I tell you about wandering off alone? What would you do if something happened? You can't see what would happen to you, just please don't run off like that, alright?"
~ Ryega grumbled and did not bother to move against his father, "Stop that, I know, I know. I could get hurt, or step on, or even get lost. I get it, I am blind, I can't see, but I can smell and hear. Stop treating me like I am a helpless bird in a hyena den." he retaliated.
~ Jamaa smiled down, he was just being cocky and overconfident. He was a pup, he didn't know better right? Ryega was just as he said, defensless, he could not see well. Jamaa nuzzled him again softly, grooming his fur. "I know, I know, but I don't know what I would do if I lost you. I love you, Ryega, I just don't know what Temari and I would do without you.
~ "Nothing, you'll do nothing." the pup mumbled. "Dad, could you please stop following me? I just want to be alone for a while." Ryega spoke, murring softly when his father licked his head. It was something he loved, the feeling of another against him and caring for him, but most of all was the grooming he got. Ryega's galzed over eyes closed and a soft smile crossed his maw. Ever now and again, his body shivered, a thing he did with everyone but one. He studdered, he shivered, and he would just curl up. In truth, he was easily scared, scared of everything around him. He just couldn't understand it.
Ryega was helpless...he just needed a helping paw.

Jamaa's eyes narrowed, "Hey, you know you can't be alone, I told you that many times now. Let's get back to the den." he spoke, taking the pup's scruff into his maw. He wasn't really gonna let his son get an option. He was the father, he was older, stronger, bigger, and in charge. He could feel his son grumble in his maw, he just smiled contently. He would get over it and eventually appreciate all of Jamaa's help.
The den wasn't far and some of the members were out and about, which made Jamaa happy to see the pack thriving. The male dog walked tall and proudly into the den and settled his son down.
"There, we are back in the den, you will be safe here."~ Ryega grumbled and curled up, his head, on his paws. "Well, it was safe outside as well...."~ "No, it isn't. There are so many things that could happen to you, you could-" "-get hurt, stepped on, or get lost. I know, stop lecturing me." he sighed, rolling onto his side. He could feel his father's chest against his back, so that meant his head was not far from either end of him. "The pack lands would be safe for me to wander if you did a good job as the Kaa'Kingojo." ~ Jamaa sighed and rubbed his chin against his son's head and curled up around him. "I am trying my best, son, I am teh only Kaa'Kingojo, so it is on my shoulders to protect these lands from intruders. One day, it will be safe for you and your brothers to walk freely around the pack without me having to worry about you all. Until then, I want you to stay with someone when you go off, alright?"~ The blind pup gave a hesitant nod and sighed, "Fine..." he yawned before turning around to bury himself into his father's chest. He sort of felt safe with his father around, but he was always disappearing on him that he started to feel forgotten and lonely. If it weren't for his brother then he would have been. ~ Jamaa smiled and nuzzled him softly, "Get some sleep, Ryega. I will be here when you wake up." Jamaa gave a quiet yawn and rested his head against his son's. At least he could try to be there for him when he wakes unless Dhati needs the Kaa'Kingojo for something.
