Not all these characters are from the same universe, and most of them have been stripped of a lot of their backstory, so if you're confused feel free to ask me any questions you might have. I'm always willing to give out extra information, backstory, world info, or anything else you might need.

In-Depth Description
Konran's normal outfit is a sleeveless black top with a collar that zips up. The zipper pull is shaped like a circle. She wears a choker with a crescent moon charm on it. She wears a black skirt that's fairly short (not mini-skirt length but not to her knees either) and a chain belt that has moon and star charms on it. On her arms she wears black armwarmers that come down to her hands with a hole for her thumbs, and buckle three times up the sides. Black knee-high boots finish out the outfit. Her wings are bat-like, black with a tinge of red to them. When disguising herself as human, her hair goes black, her eyes more of a normal grey, her wings disappear, and she may dress in a different manner in order to blend in.
Her weapons are two daggers (reference pictures further down), and the moon staff (reference pictures also further down). The staff has a black pole and a heavy gold crescent moon on the top. A clear jewel rests in the curve of the crescent and a black halo floats at a tilt around the top. Something sharp and pointy-looking should be on the bottom.
Personality/Background
Konran is, to put it simply, something of a b***h.
She died at the age of six. An angel and a demon fought in the mortal realm near where she lived and touched off an explosion that killed pretty much everyone else. However, she was pre-destined by the Goddess to become an angel (all angels are mortals who have died, usually at a young age, and chosen this way) and awoke to find rain drizzling on the ruins of her home and wings on her back. The angel from the fight, Jigoku, found her and took her to the angelic realm, becoming her mentor of sorts.
For the first bit of her life as an angel, she was quiet and studious, learning all she could about magic over fighting. Fighting lessons were mandatory but her heart really wasn't in it. She saw the atrocities the demons committed, and almost without her realizing it, she started to hate them. She was taught that she was right and they were wrong but no reasoning for this view. Slowly she was ceasing to think about her moral reasoning. Then Jigoku got killed and things got ugly. She holds nothing but hatred for the demonic race, and depending on how much of the demonic aspect is in them, either hates or pities the half-demons. Often when she finds a half-demon it will be "put out of its misery". She doesn't really stop to think about why she hates the demons apart from "they're bad", or think about why she's in the right. She just knows her side is best and she has to win. (She's also quite competitive due to this.) Occasionally she will even disobey orders or regulations to ensure a victory. Konran often comes across as a very cold, arrogant, emotionless personality, but most of this impression is due to the fact that she is so focused, almost to the point of obsession. She is the type who will kill one to save hundreds emotionlessly, and weep about it in private. She wants more than anything to be thought of as a strong, capable warrior, and hates showing weakness of any kind.
Her attitude is very like Violet's from the movie UltraViolet, without the sniveling over the kid part. She has her goals, she knows what she wants, and if you get in her way she will not hesitate to kill you. She doesn't make friends easily and she's quite cold, to the point where it hurts her relationships with everyone else. Almost nobody in the angelic realm likes her, but if you asked them they would readily admit that she is very good at what she does. What she does is kill demons. But then rumors of a new threat coming out of the demonic army camps start to surface... rumors of a deadly superweapon that will leave any angel defenseless... The Angel of Destiny begins acting strangely... and suddenly it seems there is a battle on more than one front...
Quirks:
- Cannot drink alcohol. If she starts getting drunk she starts losing control of her powers. She and Vertigo managed to blow up an Outback Steakhouse once (in one of our less serious sessions, of course, lol). She can cause quite a bit of damage, as things tend to randomly explode.
- Won't eat meat. She doesn't like the idea of eating animals.
- Would gladly destroy herself/go on a suicidal mission if it meant certain victory for the angelic forces.
- Both hates and loves Weaver for allowing her this second life.
- If you offered her that classic situation where the world could be perfect if it meant the death of one innocent child, she would choose to kill the child.
- Is fiercely loyal to any cause she chooses to back, to the point of blind fanaticism.

Original Design ideas:
- I have been trying forever to come up with some kind of "formal" wear for her. I tried a toga-style thing once but it didn't work out. Some kind of fancy outfit.
- As a Templaress. Templar/esses are basically super-charged warriors who have earned the Goddess' blessing and can transform themselves in the middle of battle to a higher level of power and basically kick a**. This can involve armor or not.
- Disguised as human. The mortal realm in this universe is pretty different from ours (no jeans, t-shirts, etc.) but not totally medieval either (no corsets, ballgowns, etc.) Find a happy medium.
- In our universe. Is she a punk? A goth? Does she shop at Abercrombie and Fitch? Make up a cute outfit for her.
- Whatever you want. Go wild. Just make sure the base physical description remains pretty much the same.

In-Depth Description
Vertigo is a half-demon that basically grew up with a band of mercenaries. The mortal realm is a lot of desert and barren land, so wars over resources are common, and there are many mercenary bands who will fight for the highest bidder, or for a chunk of the goods themselves. He's one of the best fighters in the unit, having been trained from the time he was very small by Commander-sama himself. He has black hair that hangs to just about his shoulders. His bangs are fairly long, shadowing his eyes. This can be helpful, as he has blue eyes normally, but when he becomes angry or his demonic side takes over, his eyes have the disturbing tendency to glow red.
He has a tan complexion from being exposed to the sun so often, and usually wears either desert fatigues or a desert camo vest as well as desert fatigue pants with the legs ripped at the knees for hotter days. He's muscular but not bulky and stands roughly around 6'2". Vertigo can have wings, but as a half-demon, he must rip them through the skin of his back, which as you can imagine is a very bloody and painful process, every time he wishes to use them. They are red in color and dragon-like in appearance. He wields a giant (as in, grotesquely disproportionate to his own size) sword that goes by the name Axcalabre.
Personality/Background
Half-demons are the misbegotten offspring of a demon and a human. Normally half-demons born to demon mothers are aborted or killed at birth, as the child would be considered "weak". If the mother is human, she will often die in childbirth. Vertigo was the product of one such pairing, a demon father and a human mother. He grew up believing himself a freak, but learned to turn his differences to his own advantage. Being more powerful in magic than just about any human helps a lot with intimidation and battle. Growing up this way taught him to look out for number one and to hell with anyone else. He is loyal to members of his own squad but not much else. The only one who can really keep him under control is Commander-sama, who has been known to take him out alone and go at each other in a fight, simply to calm Vertigo down. The Commander is the most powerful warrior in the band, and the reason they are so successful. Of course, if he is much more powerful than Vertigo, there are probably reasons for it that he has not revealed yet...
Vertigo is very passive-aggressive when calm, tending to believe that he is above everyone else, but he never quite acts like he's holier-than-thou... more anti-social. He doesn't really mix with others, but affords them a sort of grudging respect if they are near his equal. Whenever angered, however, he has a very nasty temper that is followed by the need to kill anyone that angers him, while those who simply annoy him are treated like children, not even worthy of his contempt. However, thanks to his human half, a broken will can lead to a warm, caring heart that is very understanding to the needs of others, almost to a fault of submission. He has mild insecurity issues, but they never get out of hand.
Quirks:
- Hates combat formations that force him to work with others, especially peons
- Would kill anyone who ever saw him unclothed other than someone he loved (so basically everybody)
- If he was in a battle of him vs everyone else, he'd simply wade past the weak ones, occassionally taking out a few for example so the others would stay away from him and simply concentrate on those who were of importance

In-Depth Description
Nyx is wide-eyed shyness personified. Her green eyes are almost always scared-looking or just wary. She's shorter than Konran, about 5'3, and doesn't look very strong. She is stronger than she looks, but not by much, as she's just started her training. Her normal outfit is a white sparkly halter top with an egg-shaped cutout on the chest, black flowy sparkly pants (the kind that look like a skirt), and white sandals. They can have a heel or not. (In the reference picture I drew her wearing boots, but that was just 'cause I was stupid and forgot. You can draw boots if you want, though.) Her staff has a white pole and kind of an upside-down bowl shape thing on the end, with a star on top of the bowl shape. All of this is white. She also wears a black beaded kind of Y-shaped necklace, and white armwarmer-type things that are very very similar to the Felicia's Gloves here on Gaia.
Background/Personality
Nyx is a new angel, just learning the ropes, and as such she's very shy and unsure of herself. She looks up to Konran greatly as her teacher, even though Konran can be something of a b***h. She has a very strong sense of right and wrong, and is always determined to do the right thing. She takes her power and responsibility very seriously, which is a very good thing, because her non-staff weapon is a crossbow with explosive-tipped bolts.

In-Depth Description
Commander-sama is the leader of a successful group of mercenaries on the mortal realm. He has blonde, crop-topped hair with cliche military shades, a FOREST CAMO VEST (in the desert, no less), grey shorts, boots, and a medium complexion... nobody understands why he isn't tanned. He's got hazel eyes, and he always has a big smirk when he isn't serious... which is most of the time.
Background/Personality
If someone asked you to create the perfect military leader... well, it wouldn't be the Commander. He's almost never serious, tending to joke around even in the pitched heat of battle. Only the most serious of problems can make him snap out of it and turn deadly serious. He treats Vertigo basically like a son, and while everyone in the unit is equally under his protection and care, if there was a favorite, Vertigo would be it. Even though most of the mercenary groups try to get half-demons to join them (without really knowing what they are, just knowing they're powerful), the Commander doesn't really have to try. He just finds them and takes them in. They're rare, though, so apart from Vertigo there are only two other half-demons in the squad. The Commander is something of a nympho... In-Depth Description
If you took Sapphire from Sailor Moon R and turned everything black, you would basically have Onyx. His haircut, while still short, is kind of on the longish side, especially on top. His eyes are cold and black. He normally dresses in a black uniform top with a short, stiff collar and black pants.
Personality/Background
Onyx, formerly the Angel of Confusion, is Tourmaline's right-hand-man and what can only be described as a sadistic b*****d. In the first incarnation of this universe he was the one torturing a captured Konran to make her fall in line with Tourmaline's plot. He's not much of a fighter, but more of the type who will stab you in the back in a dark alleyway or slip poison into your drink.

In-Depth Description
Tourmaline is very beautiful, with a voluptuous figure and a commanding presence. Her hair is deep turquoise with a soft wave to it and her eyes are reddish-purple, almost garnet-colored. She is fairly tall, and will generally wear a long, slinky dress, and her fingernails will be long, painted, and immaculately manicured.
Background/Personality
When an angel reaches her/his third level of power, they are granted a revelation.
The Angel of Destiny's revelation was that Beryl, Goddess of Earth, HATES humans. This made her just a little bit insane. Some revelations are just too powerful for the angel they are given to. So to follow Beryl, she changed her name to Tourmaline and vowed to find the Lodestone, the focus stone used in the creation of the universe, and destroy the universe, recreating it without humans. Humans were the cause of the war between demons and angels, so without the humans, there would be nothing left to fight over, right? So all her followers changed their names to jewel names to honor Beryl and are working towards that goal. Unfortunately, only with a unanimous decision by all the angels can the Lodestone be used, so Tourmaline needs a small piece of each angel's domain in order to find and use it. She is torturing, bribing, or otherwise convincing by any means necessary each other angel to help her out.

Faction is every evil aspect of Vertigo taken out and personified. He resembles Vertigo, but older and more battle-worn. He has many scars, but the most notable is the one going over his left eye and down his cheek; not deep enough to damage the eye, but deep enough to create a permanent disfiguring mark. He tends to dress in black clothing that puts across a "tough" image.
Personality/Background
Faction is the leader of the demonic army, kind of the head general, and as such is very smart and very dangerous. His moods switch between brooding and snappish, and he does not tolerate weakness. The one thing he enjoys most is toying with his enemies, playing games and laying elaborate plans to cause them to serve his own interests in the end. Mortal humans are less than nothing to him; time enough to play with them after he takes out the obstacles (i.e. the angels), he figures.

Skrymer is a little scruffy looking, but only because he is too busy planning universal domination to worry about something like personal appearance. We never worked out much of his physical description so it's up to you to make up something cool. Whatever you do, he should look a little crazy.
Personality/Background
Skrymer is an insane demon who wants nothing less than to gain enough power to kill the God and Goddess. He has necromantic powers, and at one point resurrected both Onyx and Vertigo's dead girlfriend. He also enjoys killing, and considers murdering angels and demons alike "practice" for the day he will face Weaver and Streamer.

In-Depth Description
Morrigan has dark brown hair, raggedly cut shorter in the back. The front reaches to just above her shoulders. She wears a blue ribbon in her hair, and the ends tend to trail down the sides of her face. Her hair actually resembles Miho's from Megatokyo but much more ragged. Her eyes are very dark blue with something of a violet tint to them. Her skin is fairly pale but not ghostly so, more of a peachy-pink. She will generally wear a lace-up bodice over a longsleeved shirt, and a skirt that reaches her ankles.
Personality/Background
Morrigan is usually pretty cheerful and easygoing and friendly. She's been a servant all her life but she doesn't mind it because the people at the magic school are pretty fair and she gets to take music classes. She loves music and can play a lot of different types of instruments, even though her singing voice is only pretty average and not that great. She's been friends with Jaime ever since they were little and he used to leave his botched transfiguration attempts in her bed. She adopted him as kind of her older brother, with all the sibling love and rivalry that entails. They used to go on outrageous escapades that would end with both of them punished, and he can still convince her to do just about anything.
When she found an old flute, she had no idea it had magic powers until the first time she played it. Then she discovered, to her surprise, that it was a magic flute of necromancy. With it she can talk to spirits, call up the dead, or even raise zombies. Understandably this frightened her a little bit, as necromancy is the blackest of black magic, but through it she eventually met Tarek, and now that's the only reason she'll usually use it, though if they are in trouble, a horde of undead minions comes in real handy...
Quirks:
- Kind of enjoys being a servant. The work isn't too hard for her and she gets her room and board taken care of, plus the classes.
- Looks up to the music master as a god.
- Has never thought about her relationship with Jaime as anything but fraternal and comfortable, but there are sometimes awkward moments where flashes of something more show through.
- Really likes Tarek and wishes he wasn't dead.
- Is always pretty friendly to even complete strangers
- Once they leave the school, she earns their coin playing as a bard.

Jaime actually resembles Harry Potter a lot, both in the hair and in the glasses. His hair is never lying flat or straight, but is always messed up. His expression is generally serious (especially when he's studying) but he can easily break into moments of amusement or fun. He will wear wizard's/mage's robes, of any color you desire that isn't hideous.
Personality/Background
Jaime is a little older than Morrigan but not by much... a year or two at most. He's a student at the magic school but he really really sucks at it. He's getting close to graduation age but still manages to explode things on a regular basis, which embarrases him horribly. He and Morrigan have been friends since they were both little and he used to leave his botched transfiguration attempts in her bed. He has a soft spot for animals. He's a little shyer than she is but very determined once he makes his mind up about something. He loves magic, just wishes he was better at it. The Lodestone represents to him an almost unimaginable wealth of power, but for that same reason he's too scared to tap into it much, where someone else might go power-crazy.
His companion is an orangutan named Seymour who has just about no manners, likes to make things as inconvenient as possible, and steals stuff.
Quirks:
- Will always help out an animal in trouble
- Doesn't realize that his ineptitude at magic is both the result of a less-than-average talent and his own lack of confidence
- Sees right away what needs to be done and does it
- Considers Morrigan his best friend in the entire world and feels a little jealous of/threatened by Tarek without knowing why

Tarek is a dead guy who Morrigan can talk to using her flute. He died in battle a few hundred years ago. He can and does often appear in the form of a raven, and even where he doesn't, I would love to see some pictures that involve a ghostly/shadowy raven around him/through him/in his aura/whatever. He has longish black/very dark brown hair (below the ears but not to the shoulders) and green eyes. He should appear kind of "emo-ish" in attitude (he hates being dead and complains about it a lot).
Personality/Background
Tarek died in battle defending his king. He was ferocious in battle and tended to be pretty intense in life. He should have learned to loosen up a little but never got the chance. He sulks about being dead a lot and he has a crush on Morrigan; in fact he once took over Jaime's body to try to put the moves on her until she figured it out and told him not to do it again. There might be something of a love triangle developing between the three...
Quirks:
- Well, he's dead...
- Resents Jaime for getting in the way where Morrigan is concerned
- Views Morrigan as his only link to the living world (which she is) and nearly worships her for this

I never did work out a standard outfit for her. A few dresses are described in the novel; if you'd like them, feel free to ask. If you're doing a picture set while she's at Alaric's, she should be dressed in a pretty dress, like nobility. If she eats dinner with Alaric, she wears more of a gown, like a princess or a prom dress. Go ahead and make up something awesome. If you're doing one while she's at home, she should either be in a plainer dress or in a very dirty set of shirt and pants (she should be dirty as well then, she only wears pants when she goes digging for plants).
Personality/Background
Lydia is generally a normal, pleasant girl, but she does have some insecurity issues. Growing up as the youngest, she never felt like she was as good as her sisters at cooking, sewing, or anything else. The only thing she ever feels she truly does well at is work with her herbs. She's a healer, and she's proud of herself for learning it, though some of the more superstitious townsfolk consider her to be dabbling in witchcraft. When she was fifteen, a fever struck the town, and she and her teacher spent most of their time trying to save as many people as they could, until Lydia herself got sick. When she finally awoke with a clear head, her mother and her teacher were both dead.
Quite some time later, she is abducted by a man and a pack of wolves in the middle of the night, taken to a mysterious lord who demands an impossible task of her, and suddenly she's not so sure of her healing abilities anymore...
Because she feels like she might not be good enough, Lydia tries her hardest at anything she does and won't stop until she's clearly beaten. She's fairly intelligent and so she tries several ways around a problem. Anything unknown scares her a little but she puts up a brave front so people don't know it. Really, she has more courage than she gives herself credit for.
Quirks:
- Highly defensive of what is hers. When she was little a bully tried to take a ring from her and she gave him a bloody nose.
- Easily guilted into doing things for other people.
- Compassionate to the point where she takes on other people's problems as her own.
- Looks up to her oldest sister as a second mother.
- Secretly wishes her next-oldest sister would have grown up a little slower.
- Is the only sibling that resembles their mother.

Background/Personality
Alaric grew up as a sorcerer around people who hated and feared magic. As a result he has become very closed off and private, shutting people out before they can hurt him. He appears very distant and professional but actually feels things very intensely. He used to believe that knowledge is the most important thing in the world but after that belief got him a renegade demon who cursed him into being a werewolf, he doesn't believe that anymore. Now he isn't sure what to believe and feels kind of lost and empty without that former conviction.
Quirks:
- Enjoys having magic most of the time, but sometimes the responsibility seems like too great of a weight
- Always dresses for dinner in the same colors Lydia does; she's never been able to figure out how he does it
- Is scared to death that one day the beast inside him will take over forever
- Sometimes misses the company of people he doesn't live with

In-Depth Description
Devon resembles Reno from FFVII; red-haired, obnoxious, and amusing. He's fairly good-looking and knows it. He's also quite tall. The most common expression to find on his face is an amused smirk, though when he's around Rose that fades and he becomes more serious, and a little sad.
Personality/Background
Devon is the consummate prankster. He's almost never serious and even when you're exasperated to the point of killing him you can't help but laugh along. He's the light to Alaric's dark and they were inseperable best friends when they were younger. Now they've sort of grown apart but still feel affection for each other. He loves Rose with all his heart and if slitting his own wrists were the only way to cure her, he'd do it.

In-Depth Description
Rose looks so much like Lydia that they could be sisters. Not twins, exactly, but very definitely sisters. Something mysterious put her into a coma, and so she spends her time lying unconscious in her bed (except for one scene, which you may have if you ask for). Lydia is summoned to take care of her and wake her up if she can. Rose is the one who learned the secret that allows the werewolf pack to control their transformation so that they only absolutely have to change on the full moon; without her, that control is slowly slipping away, so they are desperate to find some way to wake her up.
Personality/Background
Well, since she spends 98% of the story asleep, she doesn't have much personality that we see, but trust me, she isn't what most people think of her...
