Thu May 26, 2005 3:56 pm RE: PC b*@#h I took their name out Just letting you know, because I'm in a terrible mood and feel like taking it out on someone... Your PC over-tolerant views are bullshit. I notice your religion tolerance banner contains symbols for two religions that diametrically oppose eachother (satan worship and christianity), by the way. Maybe change that? Yeah, why don't you take christianity out ENTIRELY? We don't tolerate witches, we don't want them to tolerate us. And gay marriage is wrong. Yeah, religious tolerance. If you're gonna tolerate me anyways, get down an Old Testament from in between your Book of Lies and Qu'ran and look up leviticus 18:21 and 20:13, tell me whatcha think, huh? (so I replied)I'm sorry you got upset. I'll try explaining anyway. The whole point of tolerance is allowing a view you disagree with to co-exist. The whole point is to agree to disagree, and to agree to let each other exist. I have views, you have views, they have views, and I think we should all be able to have them without having our throats ripped out about it. As for gay marriage, that is a personal view. I believe that despite religious opposition, it is not the business of the government to restrict the definition of marriage. What Massachusetts has done in allowing same-sex marriage is extended the legal rights of marriage to more couples. In no way does the government have the authority to give the status of religious marriage to same-sex couples, or change what different churches choose to recognize as a religious marriage. I am not in charge of the Religious Tolerance guild, so I am the wrong person to contact in requesting any changes. If I was in charge of the guild, I don't think that we would want Christianity taken out of our banner; it's a wonderful faith with beautiful and uplifting messages. It deserves tolerance and respect. I admire your strong faith, but don't appreciate being attacked for the things I believe in. If you are trying to reach someone with a religious message, being angry is only going to scare them away from you and your message. I'm sorry you were in a terrible mood. Next time I would love to discuss your concerns with you, it helps me understand everybody's view. I am interested in what you have to say. Talk to you later smile

I find it funny, sad and ironic that some Christian denominations (as well as a couple of the other mainstream religions) teach specificaly against religious tolerance.
The Bible doesn't say to convert. It says to spread God's word. In the book of revelations (3:20), Jesus tells us specifically that we have a choise whether to accept him into our lives or not.
I find irony in the fact that the majority of religious and gay hate crimes in America are caused by people whose God commands love and peace. Does God hate the "f**" or the hypocritical bastards that beat him, burn him and butcher him?
Assuming the one biggest united denomination of any single religion (which is Roman Catholocism) is correct in their beliefs, that still means At least 5/6ths of the worlds population is going to burn simply for the fact that they weren't dipped in water when they were born.
Anyway, sorry for the tangents. The topic of tolerance is the one thing I feel most strongly about. You handled that letter very, very well. I can't wait to see is reply. Please post it for us? ^__^

Some people try too hard when they flame. He's just running around being bitchy on all the forums, so I wouldn't take it personally.
In any case, kudos to being mature about it. If he continues to give you a problem about it, let me know and I'll set him straight. wink

It was pretty big of you to not flame back. I admit, I would've been kinda mad at that person for attacking me. Specially since I'm Christian too (as that person seems to be). The Bible calls for peace and love, to accept others as they are and to try to help them if it looks like they need help and guidance. Not flame them incredibly for trying to be one of the better people out there who are tolerant. Personally, as a Christian, I find religious tolerance to be a key to my beliefs. Everyone is always going off about Christians being "Bible thumping whores" (pardon my french) who want to convert the world. I don't wanna be like that. Sure, I wanna spread the word, but I like hearing other people's views and I try to respect them. A lot of people at my church would be mad at me if they knew half my friends are gay/bi. It just really bugs me to see so many Christians use the Bible to attack instead of love, which is what it was meant for. sad

Here's a letter I wrote later, and their replyname is still removed Kahri You mentioned in your previous PM that leviticus 18:21 spoke against homosexuality. I havn't been in church for a long time, so I am a bit confused. Isn't that passage usually interpreted to be forbidding sacrificing your children to the fire-god Molech, and not to profane the name of God? How do you interpret it? Looking foreward to your reply biggrin DAMN GLITCHY GAIA NOW I HAVE TO TYPE THIS ALL OVER AGAIN!!!!! Yeah. So... As I recall, the verse says "Do not lie with man as with woman, for it is an abomination." Some say that ONLY the King James version says that, because King James was homophobic. Well, they're right. Kind of. All the other ones say "despicable" instead of "an abomination". Sadly, I have seen more recent, "politically correct" translations that remove that verse entirely, along with such rather important ones as "the Lord thy God is one God, worship Him only". Also, in Leviticus 20:13, it gives a death penalty for gay sex. So how did you get the stuff about Molech? And concerning your reply to my previous E-mail... eek You took that much verbal abuse and not only still live, but send a kindly worded, reasonable-in-tone reply?!? You are ******** amazing. See, the only person I have beaten harder with the stupid stick than THAT is one diferent anonymous person. Pssh, hope he flew into that sharp rocky cliffside he didn't see and turned into seagull food... Yeah. See, he condemned music - ALL of it, not just a particular genre - for violence in our culture. That SICKENED me. More than political corectness. And as you have discovered, that says something.

You know what, that person is making me sick. It seems this person is Christian yet not only is he/she cursing her head off, s/he is judging, wishing someone else would be hurt or condemned...whatever for believing something due to the way culture is...geez I just don't get it. If someone like that flamed me I would have to point out that they aren't going by their beliefs very much. Once again I have to say that Christians are very hypocritical and annoying (Note: I am a Christian). I'm happy there are some Christians who aren't shoving things in others' faces and disrespecting their personal beliefs and such. But so many of us rant and rave til the dawn of day (teehee...that almost rhymes!) about people going to Hell for cursing or looking at porn and then go out and do it themselves. I don't know...I just don't really appreciate how this person is coming off.
