I think I discussed with M!lk, or Wishy. First of all, I really liked the video; I thought it was touching, and while not very... relative to the song itself, it still panned out nicely.
I thought maybe old home video type stuff of a father and his son, and then hospital and the father dying. Rain. billie looking really sad, At the bit when the little guitar solo comes in; maybe thats the part when the heart monitor goes BEEEEEP and then the mother can bury her head in her hands, and the son looks out of the window at "hear comes the rain again"

I haven't seen the video yet, but I always had this picture of it in my mind of how it would look. I could see it starting out as a peacful morning with the dew on the grass...then when Tre and Mike start playing the sky gets dark and nighttime comes and it's pouring thunder and lightning and when the music lightens so does the weather and it looks just like it did at the beginning of the song. Not very discriptive, I know. sweatdrop

Maybe as the song plays, maybe they can play back some footage of Billie Joe and his dad way back in the days (if they do have footages). Or maybe they can have actors react the relationship of Billie Joe and his father. And when it says, "Here comes the rain again..." maybe they can show a funeral with Billie Joe and his family standing in the rain under black unbrellas and then he can do his guitar solo from current day. And when it's the end, they can have Billie Joe (in his age right now) stand at his father's grave and then at the end, he can place a single red rose of top of his tombstone and then walk away. Or maybe Billie Joe's family can all have a single rose, and they have a moment to theirselves and then at the end all place it on the tombstone. To me, either way works. Sorry for making a long post... sweatdrop But how the way Sam Bayer directed it was not bad.

what's a nice dull area? hmm... i was thinking of them being in a broken down bar, and it would look as artsy as boulervard of broken dreams and as soft and mellow as macy's day parade.

yeah, i too pictured them being in rain... heres what i would have done
- It would start out with billie playing blue, his guitar all by himself, infront of this large crowd of people cheering him on, then there would be a flashback thing of his career (old videos and such, playing at gigs when he was young) then Tre and Mike would come in and they would stand together playing as one but then the crowd slowly disappears..and theres only one person left..a shadow..his dad. Then there would be this calendar next to him going from month to month, and when it reaches september, his father fades away. Then the crowd reappears but the band slowly fades away at the end. I think that would be awesome. rolleyes

I think shootage of him and the band would be good, all the good times and such. About the him and dad footage, don't you think that would be hard to film? For Billie, I mean. I mean, its an emotional song about his dad, and he gets emotional singing it, so watching and.. publisizing (yes, yes, I spelt that wrong) footage with him and his dad.. might be too much for him? I thought the idea for old footage of the band and him, and then clips of them playing in the rain would be nice...

The music video wasn't that bad.. Although it was really pop-esque (especially with that stage thing the ywere playing on) and the girl cried for like 1 minute before they got back to the song...
If they had just a little bit of the girl and guy talking thing (not as mcuh, I think we got the picture after 10 seconds of them at the start, not 40 seconds) and then it was them playing on a railroad track (that's how I pictured it) and then do the little thing with the guy going away to the army (with less of the girl crying) and then it goes back to them playing in the rain on the traintrack.
-or-
It could be images of the band doing pretty lazy a** things.. you know, eating breakfast .. smoking... driving or something and be images like that for video with the point being that they don't know what else to do, they're sort of lost after this loss that they have gone through...

But I love it. That'd be really cool. I can picture it in my head and everything... The guitar solo part would be so cool, because everytime I hear that solo it sets something off in me...
That sounded corny. But it's true. redface
