Alone by the waterfall, Janja had decided to do some investiagting. They lived near the waterfall, but she was wondering why, and how the strange source of water worked. She even was curious enough to start plotting an adventure to the top of the falls and following it to wherever it started. It had to go somewhere, she thought, but it was rather dangerous looking. With her head tilted upward and her blue eyes wide, she took a seat at the water's edge.
"HM!" she hummed aloud, trying to think of a good way to find the answer to her question. If her parents weren't around, then she could find a round about way and get to the top- there must be a hill or something that goes that way. With this idea in mind, she looked over her shoulder for her family.

Glancing up from the bug that had previously occupied her intrests so well, Ekevu quirked an eyebrow at her sister's actions, rising and quietly padding over. Gazing up the waterfall with her odd, intense ruby eyes, a grin passed her usually solemn expression.
"Pray tell, sister," she crooned softly, absorbed in the rush of the falling water, as she always had been with this waterfall,
"What seems to be holding your interest today?" Not that it was something she would likely be interested in, but it never hurt to find this sort of thing out. Besides, if it was interesting, Ekevu wanted a part of it. It was for curiosity's sake, after all! What better way to learn than by asking questions?
"..If it's one of your 'adventures' through the jungle," Ekevu started, locking her focus into her sister's eyes,
"..I want in."

Jedi glared at her sisters wearily she was not sure what to think of another adventure, and of course that was probably what was on her mind. Jedi was waddling her way towards Janja, she felt closer to her sister that looked more like her, mainly because of thier night time adventure, but also slightly because of their similarities in color.
With her little belly swaying, and her chest heaving from waddling so fast Jedi grinned looking at her litter mates mischievously. She wanted another adventure...but she also didn't want to get into trouble.
"Are you sure another adventure would be wise?" she said meekly.
An involuntary shiver rushed over her as she looked at the waterfall, it was dangerous, and she could tell not by the roaring that it made but by its actions it was like a wild beast, there was never a real way to tell what would happen with wild things. That may have been the reason she was scared of the leopardess in the jungle, it was something wild and scary.

Janja grinned when she saw her sisters heading for her, but saw no sign of either parent paying direction attention to what they were up to. Her initial attention went to the beautiful blue oddball of the litter, pleased to hear that adventuring through the jungle was something she was known by. Her blue eyes went to Jedi and her only reply to the youngest's question was a wink.
"Well," she said, standing up and walking in a small circle to face her sisters, "If you're going to join me, I thought we'd go up there." Janja turned her head and nodded to the top of the waterfall, then turned back to her sisters to see their reactions. She expected more interest in the idea out of Ekevu, which is where her eyes went first.

Purring with delight an amusement, Ekevu's contrasting eyes followed her sister's gaze, still grinning brightly at the idea of a scientific exploration. A chance to seek knowledge, learn, and pass it on! It was definately a tail-wagging sensation!
"Prodigious!" She exclaimed happily, glancing back to Janja, then turning to watch for Jedi's reaction. There was certainly a close bond between the two already, for some reason she wasn't quite sure of, but it was obvious that the bond was there. Knitting her brow for a moment, she quickly shrugged it off, deciding that the matter was trivial. There were far more important things to be done!
"Which way shall we head to begin the expedition, sisters?"

"N..n..no way! We'll stay right here," she grumbled looking first to Ekevu and then to Janja. There was no way she was going on another wild goose chase with them, not even in the name of science..or knowledge..or what have you! A flood of embarrassment rolled over her as she thought of her own cowardice. She just did not want to get into a situation she could not get out of.
"Maybe..we could..play hide and seek instead?" she looked down shamefully, and then lifted ehr head slightly to give Ekevu a sidelong look, her eyes pleading to talk their elder sister out of it.

Janja was greatly encouraged by Ekevu's positive reaction, and equally discouraged by Jedi's negative response. She took a seat and swished her tail behind her thoughtfully. When her tail brushed the water, she gave a shiver at the sudden cold feeling but ignored it.
If she had it in her to be so mean, she might agree to the hide and seek game and leave her sister hiding- but she would never do such a thing to either of them. The cub was even reluctant to outright disagree and go off anyway, so instead of saying anything she looked over to Ekevu to see if she would agree or disagree with Jedi.

The decission was on her shoulders? Oh, the power! It was almost intoxicating! But who to side with on this? It was most definately a conundrum.. whichever sister she didn't pick would be disapointed in her choice of the other.. mumbling quietly to herself, Ekevu shook her head with a sigh, finally looking to Janja.
"We shall save a game of Hide and Seek for later, sisters! For now, we shall begin out exploration into the jungles!" She said with pride, smiling happily at her decision. It seemed logical... to her mind, atleast. And, there always would be time for games later! They were sisters, after all; together forever! (Oh, the situational irony of this amuses me.) Turning her gaze to Jedi for a moment, she tried to smile reassuringly to her.
"I mean.. that is fair, isn't it? The more jungle we explore, the more places we have to hide!" Pausing her train of thought, her ruby eyes shifted once more to Janja.
"So where shall we begin?"

"It's alright, we can always play hide and seek later," she said straining to smile, she really did not want to explore, she was not a rebel. She would follow along of course, not wanting to make Ekevu or Janja sad or unhappy because she had chosen to stay behind. And of course at the first sign of trouble she would waddle back to Siku and Kiji and beg their forgiveness (even if they are lenient parents) for running a muck in the jungle.
"Promise YOU will take the blame if we get in trouble?" Jedi's big blue eyes narrowed at Janja.
Two against one wasn't fair, Jedi suddenly found herself hoping that they had another sibling, one that was a coward like herself, one that enjoyed eating and laying around instead of wandering in this strange place, the one she had no need or want to understand.

Janja could see how much Ekevu was enjoying the power to decide what they did, but watched her expectantly. She grinned when Ekevu turned to her, assuming that she was being sided with- and her eyes brightened when it turned out to be true. She immediately turned to Jedi to find her reaction to the decision they both placed upon Ekevu.
Her smile softened but did not fade when she saw the strained smile, and nodded without a second thought when asked to take the blame, "Of course I will, but I really don't think we'll get into any trouble."
She turned back to the waterfall, and the cliffside that it fell from. The cub would find a way up there, and her sisters would come with her as she tried to figure out it's origin. With a smile on her face, Janja jogged off to the cliffside to lead the way- walking along the wall of rock to find a way to go up safely.

Pleased with Jedi's reaction, Ekevu followed obediently after her older sister, watching her trail with curiosity. Would there even be a place for them to travel up the rockside, or would there search all be in vain? Desperately hoping for the first of the two, Ekevu smiled, turning back to Jedi.
"Dear Jedi," she began, trying to seem friendly, and attempting to raise her sister's spirits, as well, "where do you hyptohesize the waterfall starts from? Or do you have any opinion on this marvel of nature whatsoever?" Beaming happily, she looked back to the waterfall. She, of course, had a very reasonable idea as to the waterfall, but wanted to hear the others, as well. It could show quite a bit about her sister's personalities..

Jedi sighed feeling extremely unintelligent, where had Ekevu gotten all of her brains? Surely not from mommy or from daddy? Maybe they had distant family that all were extremely smart, and if that was the case, Jedi probably would not feel safe traveling to see them, they could get her into bigger messes than this one!
"I believe that it starts at the mouth of a monster, something's up there spitting a whole lot!" She giggled thinking what type of creature could possible have THAT much saliva. She looked at Janja expectantly, hoping that she would save Jedi from having to come up with a reasonable answer to the question. Who cared where the heck a waterfall came from? It was water that fell from a rock, from the sky!

Janja turned back to look at her sisters as they contemplated the source of the water, and she giggled at Jedi's suggestion. A monster that had a lot of saliva, was it? They'd have to test that theory!
"Maybe," she winked at Jedi playfully, "We'll have to investigate that! I don't know what the source could be, there'd have to be a lot of water up there for it to work." Janja turned back to the ledges and resumed the search for a climbable part of it.

"A monster? What sort of monster?" Ekevu asked, scrunching her nose in disbelief. Nothing was that big, and she knew it! A creature of that monumental size would require too much food, and space; it would've eaten this entire jungle by now, should it exist! Deciding not to comment on it, she smiled softly.
"Ah, well, silly question. I suppose that is what we're going to find out, after all." She said, adding a chuckle as she followed her sister. No, it had to be some greater force at work. A god, or nature, something like that!
"What about a greater power? Like one of the deities, or just the world itself?" She proposed, wanting to get her own idea into the open, as well. It certainly made more sense than a monster.

"Of course a monster, what else would be up there, maybe a god monster that doesn't have to eat or sleep, because it spits constantly.." she was not going to abandon her idea without a fight, even if even she thought it was a rediculous idea, "or it eats little lionesses that drift into its view..!"
(small, sorry.)
