I work at Hastings - Your Entertainment Superstore!...and I deal with some serious fanboys. Hell...I work with some serious fanboys... I was putting away that 3-pack of Halo novels...and dropped like...4 sets of them. My co-worker runs up to me...and acts like I crucified Jesus because I dropped some Halo books... He was all "What are you doing? You're damaging valuable merchandise!!" neutral Halo books...being valuable merchandise? Since when??

I also get to pre-order people's copies of the game when they...well...want to pre-order the game. wink They talk to me like Halo is god's gift to humanity...and that I need to buy 10 copies...so I can be surrounded with greatness at all times... When I say I don't care about Halo...they act like I killed their parents... Stupid fanboys... scream

Does he go here, Ember? I saw a fellow who put up a pic showing Jesus in place of the Master Chief as he is depicted on the game's box, with some other more subtle changes throughout. Probably wasn't him though, since there are more Halo fanpersons of the rabid, fanatical variety in the world than there are locusts stare

The magic of that game is just lost on me. I don't get it. Even the guys at work gape at me when I say I don't like it... Though I guess they assume it's "just 'cuz I'm a girl". *shrug* I haven't had the (dis)pleasure of dealing with fanboys quite as rabid as can appear here on Gaia, though I've had man people ask what's wrong with me when I say I don't like the game.

stare My EB is opening at midnight on the day Halo2 comes out. My manager wants to outsell the other stores in the area for first-day sales. *sigh* I really, really, really hope I don't end up having to work that shift... sad
