Appearance: Altaria is rather slim. She has very short soft blue hair, in which she wears an asparagus clip.
She wears thick-framed, rectangular glasses, and she has a Bindi on her forehead because of her indian heritage.
She has soft, tan coloured skin and eye-pleasing features.
Clothing: She has a yellow butterfly earring on the right ear and no earring on the right ear. For her top she wears a sweater-vest. The vest is an olive green with a cute pink elephant in the middle that is surrounded by an orange loveheart. The sweater is made of a thin material and is a very light pastel red. The sleeves are rolled up to a little bit above her elbow.
She wears a blue skirt with yellow flowers on it. It has a tiny 3cm trim on the bottom of it that is pink. She wears rainbow stripey stocking and black boots with two different colored laces. The left boot's laces are neon green, and the right boots laces are neon orange. She wears orange liptick and lots of bracelets, etc on her wrists.

Personality: Altaria is a wild one, although she does very well in school. She has tendancy to be mean and rude, and laugh at other peoples mistakes, but otherwise she is generally easy to talk to.
She has her. She has her calm and gentle moments but she also has her other type of moments. Her mean and terrible moments.
When she was in school all the kids wanted to hang out with her because shewas the "Popular Kid".
All her teachers loved her and she was a bit wierd, but she was very funny.

Character Background: Altaria was born into a wealthy family in India. Her parents had a Computer company, from which they made a lot of money. Because her parents had such a busy job she moved all around India. In fact, they moved around so much Altaria doesn't know where in India she was born!
At the age of 17 they all moved to Venice.(That is where Altaria was living before she caame to the island) At the age of 21, Altaria got a slight speech impairment that will be explained later.
When she was in school in the better parts of India she had lots of friends. She had no siblings, but their was a boy who could practically be called a sibling, and that was a boy named Elliot.
Elliot and her got married when she was 24. They were both living in Venice, so they flew back to India to get married traditionally there.
When they came back to Venice they bought a large 3 storey house. The top 2 floors were where they lived, and the bottom floor was used for their bakery. They opened the bakery on Altaria's 26th birthday. It was a very popular bakery, but they had to move oout of their house for several months while they fixed up the bottom floor to make sure it was all legal and official. They went to live with their friends. Elliot was worried she'd guess what her birthday present was.
She is VERY good at computers, as her parents owned a computer company and she also enjoys drawing. Just before she turned 27 Elliot disappeared after a night out. He may be floating along a river, wrapped of in a carpet so no one could see him, or he may have decided to go crazy and catch the next flight to India for some kicks...or he may even be on the island, searching for Altaria. I couldn't tell you though. That would be worse than the time the little boy spoiled the climax/ending of the last Star Wars movie.
Flaws: Altaria has rage problems. When she was younger she had to go to anger management. They gave up on her when she knocked out everyone in her anger management class.
Altaria has a slight speech impairment, and this is how it works. When she starts talking she does up to 4 stutters and then a 1 second pause and then she starts talking. When she talks after she's stuttered, though, it is perfect and fluent, with no stuttering or pauses. If she stops talking for more than 3 seconds than she will stutter and pause again before talking, but if she stops talking for less than three seconds there will be no stuttering or pauses.
She also had a bit of an alcohol problem after Elliot disappeared. Altaria was never the sharpest knife in the draw, and was very lucky she hooked someone like Elliot. Altaria also did therapy for most of her life.

Lady Slippers is a term used to describe the orchids in the subfamily Cypripedioidea, which includes the genera Cypripedium, Mexipedium, Paphiopedilum, Phragmipedium and Selenipedium, distinguished by their slipper-shaped pouches (modified labellums), which function by trapping insects so that they are forced to climb up past the staminode, behind which they collect or deposit pollinia.
This subfamily has been considered by some (Rasmussen, 1985) to be a family Cypripediaceae, separate from the Orchidaceae.
Lady's slipper orchid (Cypripedium calceolus)The subfamily Cypripedioideae is monophyletic and consists of five genera. Their common features are two fertile diandrous (that is, with two perfect stamens) anthers, a shield-shaped staminode and a saccate (sac-shaped) lip.
Cypripedium are found across much of North America, as well as in parts of Europe. The state flower of Minnesota, a state in the United States, is the Showy Lady's Slipper (Cypripedium reginae). The Pink Lady's Slipper, (Cypripedium acaule), is the official state wildflower of New Hampshire. The Lady's Slipper is also the official provincial flower of Prince Edward Island, a small province of Canada.
Paphiopedilums are found in the tropical forests of southeast Asia reaching as far north as southern China. Paphiopedilum is quite easy to cultivate and therefore is popular among orchid enthusiasts. In fact, overcollecting of this genus has caused some problems in its original habitat.
Phragmipedium, found across northern South and Central America, is also easy to cultivate as it requires lower temperatures than Paphiopedilum, eliminating the need for a greenhouse in many areas.
