I think it is Lucy, because of the way that wanta was acting, he alwasy backed when he knew who it was, also the way the shadow is standing shows a weakened stance, which could add to it being lucy becasue she had fought for so long that day.

Well if mew and Lucy's minds fused back together it might make it hard to sense her. Becasue thats my last thing I tshould have said. I think that their minds became one becasue of the look that Lucy gave in the last scene with Kouta, it was dark yet innocent.

I dont think it would have made a difference, Nana never sense Nyu as a diclonius, She only sensed Lucy, Nyu also never used her vectors, It's like her Diclonius ability fell into a dormant phase untill Lucy reappeared. I dont think it was Lucy, Although, there IS a possibility it was Nyu, Taking a look at some of the symbolism in the ending, The stopping of the music box, The end of the past Kouta Shared with Lucy, and the Starting of the clock, Nyu always had a facination with the clock, It began to work after Nyu had messed with it. But I dont think Nyu would just stand there, I think after not seeing Kouta and going through a tramatic expirience like at the end of Elfen Lied, She wouldnt have just stood there, She would have just ran and burst right in. Aside from Nyu and Lucy,
It could also be the female doctor that worked with kakazawa (sp?) She also had a pretty weakend state about her twards the end. She could have been looking for Kouta after she left the prefecture, Although you never know if she actually leaves or if she goes back into that room they had her locked in.

I will have to agree with you, but what if Lucy went into that doment state where Nyu takes over, but Nyu still knows abotu the past. the whole Lucy and Kouta past thing is that the sad music dies could represent many things becasue at the same time that she liked the song was the same time that Lucy was desending into the chaotic killing state, so the stop of music could represent the end of murders while the clock could represent the rise of Nyu and her possible capabilities to communicate proberally.

But even still . .I dont think Nyu would have just stood there, regarding on what happened. I think the ending would have been better, if they show the shadow, then went to the music box stopping then when the clock chines, show the door again, but the shadow gone, that really would have been a better ending

Personally i think it was more of an openning for Lucy/ nyuu in a larger series, because the Ceo has to get arrested, the facility has to be found out and the doctor lady has to get out of that place

The animes a horrible spin off of the manga, the art was better but the story line leaves out way to much.

It hasnt yet and looks like it will almost never be found out. The idea but letting them live could be a two way road, on one side you have the idea that Diclonious want to get accepted. Lucy and Mariko are great examples about this because we see that both were happy when a void was filling her their lives. For Lucy is was Kouta and how he made her feel, and for Mariko it was being with her father for the last moments of their lives.
yet the other road is at some point they have to kill, but what causes this? For Lucy we see that human taunts were the reason that she snapped, she was tortured as a kid, and the samll lie that kouta used to make sure she was happy was the one that made her snap. Everything happens for a reason, and everything has a reason [well excluding some pop culture stuff we watch today]. When looking at the possiblity of that figure being Lucy/ Nyuu we have to look beyond the know facts and llok in to the symbolism that happened scenes earlier.
The main on is her horns breaking off, and the hum of the song. The way I see it is that the horns showed that Lucy was finished with her killing and with that last fight she would be finished, and could move on. the hum of the song shows that no matter what life has ways of helping us through the hard times, and we see that Lucy was holding on for so long to apologize.
Anyways back top the topic at hand
If the Diclonious are only killing becasue of the lack of acceptance is not the 'human race' to blame? because of there one way thinking. With lies, cheating, rude remarks and hatred to anything different then our normal. Or is it that they only want to kill and to have a community of Diclonious?
