A fairly young leopardess, who has been napping in the mid branches of a lush Wild Fig tree, blinks lazilly as she peers down the trunk of the massive tree, seemingly debating whether or not the decent is worth her effort. She rises, digging her claws in to the bark, and stretches her muscles, preparing to tackle the hurdle of gravity. Most likely her aching stomach has made the choice for her. It's been several days now...perhaps even weeks, since her mother's departure. Although reluctant to leave the tree in which she was warned to stay, Kitwe has ventured out into the brush when her hunger became intollerable, to scavenge for scraps of meat. She would never have abided such foul stuff in the days before her abandonment (for that was all that she could imagine that it had been; abandonment), but the now ever-present pang of starvation compelled her to chew and swallow. If, that is, she could find some. Her decent from the tree wasn't nearly so graceful as it should have been. She was weakend by malnourishment, and had become fearful and uncertain of her every action after being left alone. She slips most of the way, and tumbles into the tall grass with a plop. "ouch.." she whispers, righting herself. She sniffs the air, catches a faint whiff of something that could be a meal, and heads off in the direction she believes it to be coming from, making certain to remember the landmarks she passes so that she can once again find her way back.

(( I'll just keep RPing with myself while I'm bored xd ))
As she moves further and further from her recognizable surrounding, Kitwe begins to feel uneasy. She hesitates for a moment; standing still and crouched low to the ground; ears perked and listening. She felt very vulnerable, and wanted to answer to her screaming fear. To turn and run back to the safety of the treetop. But what good was being safe from predators were she to starve in that treetop? She'd lost the faint scent that she had thought to be a possible meal. Winds must have changed. "Great.." she thought to herself, "just.. great. Come on, Kit. You've got to find something. There's bound to be....something." And with her meager self-pep talk, her resolve strengthened a bit. She peers out from slitted eyelids, squinting against the bright reflection of sun off the yellow grasses of the plains she's wandered into. "There!" her mind cries, spotting a pygmy mouse not 4 yards away. But in her anxiousness, her body jolts slightly, and the mouse (who is much more experienced at not being lunch than Kitwe is at stalking lunch) notes the movement, and bolts into her nearby burrow. Discouraged again, and hungry as ever, she turns back towards the direction from which she has come. Perhaps she would have better luck after a bit of rest, or in darker hours. She still had far to go, even to get back to her tree. She hadn't realized just how far she had traveled. Her paws dragging slightly, she eventually makes her way back to the large Fig. Sneering at it, a small bit of contempt in her mind for this:her prison; possibly her grave...she climbs up the bark. Not so far up as she would have liked to have gone, but she decides that this height will make it easier upon leaving when next she tries to hunt.

Pridals...blah. The little gray cub pushes her way through the lush jungle brush, ears flat against her skull, shoulders slightly haunched. The smells of lions here are very thin...there hasn't been a lion here in moons, probably. Which is all to Ciyari's advantage. She's going to take this place over; this'll be her place now. She rules it. She's the new Queen. The thought seems to please the little lioness cub.
She slumps up against the large fig tree, flopping to the ground in a quick movement, as if her legs had just suddenly decided to take a break. Her stomach rumbles. Loudly. She's so hungry...she can't really even remember the last time she ate. Maybe it was that leaf she attempted to chew for lunch; but that proved quite inedible, and was quite disgusting besides. Sulking, the cub curls up into a ball, still leaning against the tree, as if it were some comfort. All alone again, then. That's nice. No food. Little bit of water. She'd give her tail for some meat, though. Not much. Just a bit of a zebra limb, or some nice little shrews. She's not picky.
Her eyebrows slip drowsily, eyes half-lidded.

The approaching rustling of grass and leaves disturbs Kitwe's light and troubled sleep. Her ears are alert, but the rest of her hasn't quite shaken off the tiredness yet. When the message finally reaches her brain, she looks down in amazement at the gray form leaning against her home. Caught off gaurd, she's quite petrified at the moment. Mother had always told her that lions would kill her on sight, and to steer clear of them entirely. But then again, it had been so long since Kitwe had seen any other creature in the jungle, aside from lesser insects and birds and such. She was intrigued, but still so uncertain and nervous. Should she attempt to speak to this lion? She did appear to be very small, after all. Hardly much bigger than herself, she judged. Could lions climb trees? Why would lions kill leopards anyway? As she leaned over the side of the branch for a closer look, weighting the possiblities of danger versus conversation in her head, she didn't notice quite how much pressure her front left paw was placing on a very unsturdy looking limb... and with a *SNAP* it detatched, *swoosh* it fell, and *thud* it landed on the little lion's tail. "Oh no!" she gasped, and cringed for a moment. No use in hiding now. Her decision made for her, shakily she peeked back over the edge of the branch on which she perched. "I...I-i-i..I'm s-s-sorry about ...that.", she gulped, certain that now she was done for.
((evil Gaia wasted the rest of my free day. Sorry to run, dustfeather, but I have to sleep now and will be gone most of tommorrow sad *prods Kitwe* She's a bit of a coward xd ))

(It's okay, I was gone, too. ;D And Kitwe's really cute. ^__^)
Her brain is a bit slow in catching up with her ears; it's not only until the branch falls on her tail that her brain makes the connection between pain and something strange going on. But, mostly, it's pain.
"Yow!" She yelps, jumping up onto all fours, luckily tugging her tail loose with the first lunge forwards. She runs about under the tree quite aimlessly for a moment, wild-eyed, little hisses and growls coming from her. That wasn't nice. In fact, t hat was downright surprising and nasty.
The gray cub finally retains enough sense to look up - where the branch had come from - in search of the culprit. Eyes spot something in the trees; something with a light pelt, small, with...rosettes? It's a leopard cub!
"That hurt," She said, directing her complaints upwards, and trying to tilt her head to see the creature again. But at least the creature is apologizing. Something in the voice tells her that it's a female, although it's hard to be sure...she's never been around leopards all that much. One leopard looks very much like another, to her. "'Twasn't very nice, but you did apologize," She adds, haughtily. "I suppose I'll have to let it go."

((It's been a while since I've done present-tense RPs... sweatdrop but I'll adjust. 3nodding ))
This. Is definitely not the Prideland anymore. The young lion cub weaves his way through the jungle, pale blue eyes wary of his surroundings. His snow white pelt is all too visible with all the green around him, so he keeps low. It's probably not too dangerous here... but best to be careful. Best to keep moving. Except... so tired... It's been days since he has really rested. His eyes flutter sleepily as he curls up between the roots of a large tree. Within seconds, he's oblivious to the world.
((Sorry to rush! Really gotta go. >_<;; ))

Kitwe cringed again at the reproachful scolding. At least she isn't going to be mauled...she hopes. She leans over the branch again, to look down at the lion cub, making sure to keep all four paws clawed firmly into the tree. "I...I really didn't mean to. You just s-s-startle me, is all, and I was trying to get a better look." She paused for a moment, taking in the lion cub's features more closely. This cub had said that she wouldn't eat her, but the expression on her face seemed a bit iffy to Kitwe. "Can.....can lions climb trees?" The words tumbled quickly out of her mouth as soon as she thought them. She regretted speaking them immidiatly after doing so. Why was she giving this other cat ideas? She was just asking for it, wasn't she?

The little gray cub keeps staring upwards, her eyes finally finding Kitwe's form. But she still stays down below. She can't climb well, and doesn't want the other to know that as a weakness. "Oh, most lions can't," She says, emphasizing the word. "But I come from a long line of tree-climbers on my mother's side." She pauses, briefly, one paw held in the air. "What're you doing up there, anyways, leopard? I didn't think - "
But what Ciyari 'didn't think' will never be known, for she begins walking again; and immediately trips over something small, fluffy, and white. She lets out a rather terrific screech, tumbling head over heels until a tree a few feet away arrests her movement. Uuugh. What was that? As she looks up, she realizes that the 'something' she hit was actually a 'someone'; a white lion cub, to be precise.

((OMG. I finally RP! O0O XD;;; sorry if it's bad XD; ))
Deep within the Mistweaver territory, a little leopard cub played. Her cream and orange colored tail was held up and out for balance and her little frame was in a stalking position. Kasida pounced on a small toad, her small paws missing it. The green and brown toad gave a little hop. Its back was covered in warts, and its throat heaved in and out, occasionally making a large bubble. It wasn't worried, he knew the cub couldn't catch him. She patted at it with the soft pads on her paws and the toad leaped forward, into a bush. Kasida lurched forward, missing it again. And as she continued her game, she heard something that made her stop in her tracks - voices. Cautiously approaching the sounds, Kasida saw three little cubs, two lions and a leopard like herself.

((Allie! *pounce*)) Kitwe cannot subside the giggle that wells up in her from the sight of the rolling lion, but quickly stiffles it, not wanting to be rude (or to upset this cub who seems to be quite capable of reaching her in her perch and pummeling her soundly). She moves to the base of the branch, near the trunk, and hangs her front half down onto the trunk of the tree, toying with the idea of actually decending to make certain that no one is hurt. But upon realizing that she is now in the presence of two lions, she simply secures herself in this very uncomfortable position. "Are you alright?" she directs this question to both cubs, and looks intently over them, scanning for signs of injury. Her ears perk once more, and swivel behind her, sensing more movement. She's incapable of turning her head to see behind her, and so she attempts to look under the branch instead, and sees an upside down face peeking through a bush. She simply stares in awe, her muzzle stretching as her mouth hangs slightly open. Spots on the face, the shape of the ears....This was the first fellow leopard that she had seen....well, ever; aside from her mother. She's so busy staring intently at this new arrival, that she doesn't realize that her grip is slipping and gravity is beginning to successfully pull her toward the ground. Realizing this a second too late, her body begins to fall, but her forepaws instinctivly grab hold of the tree trunk, and she dangles there for a moment, before pulling herself back up onto the limb. She was intriuged and excited at the presence of another leopard, and it showed.

Being tripped over certainly wasn't the best way to be woken up in the morning, but Kota had no choice. He was having a nice dream about food... yes... food... when a small force slammed into him. His bright blue eyes flew open, wide in surprise, as he lept up, his back against the tree. He didn't yelp out loud, but it was a close thing.
As he recovered from the initial shock, he looked around, still breathing heavily. He caught sight of another lion cub. A gray one. A few feet away. Oh, so she must be what ran into him. A rustle in the tree above him tore his attention away from the lion cub. He looked up to discover a... leopard? That must be it. In the trees above. Oh great. How did they get here anyway? They weren't here when he fell asleep... were they? He didn't know much about leopards... he'd never really met one before. What were they going to do to him? Should he try to run for it? But there were two of them, and only one of him... So he kept silent, waiting for some sort of response from either of them.
((Edit: Oh wow... is it just me? Or do I take way too long to write an RP post? XD;; ))

Watching Kitwe, Kasida's mouth gaped as the cub almost fell from the tree tops. The leopard seemed a bit clumsy, but.. Kasida was still anxious to meet her. She seemed friendly enough. As she stepped out, her attention drawn to the cub, she remembered about the lions and quickly resided back to the bush. Her sister always told her to stay away from lions, so that's what she did. Looking up into the tree tops, the cub had an idea. She quickly, and easily scaled the trunk of a near-by tree and chose a branch that reached out the farthest. Balancing on the branch and judging the distance, she paused a moment at the end of the branch before jumping to Kitwe's tree. Kasida landed several branches above her, her tail hanging down and swishing, a show of her curiosity.

The gray cub lets out a wheeze, as if she had forgotten how to breathe properly for a moment, and her brain was just deciding to kindly remind her. Still upside-down against the tree that halted her precarious movement across the jungle floor, she merely stares at the new ivory-pelted cub, vision a little fuzzy. He's so...white. The color hurts her eyes, and so she closes them, flopping back down to her side and only reluctantly reopening them. Well, he's certainly a quiet one! Thus, it's with much greater swiftness that she gets back her voice - a loud, obnoxious one, at that. "What did you think you were doing, lying there like that? You coulda hurt me!" Huffily, she gets to all fours, quite on her dignity as she puffs up, looking insulted for the second time today. This is just a day for accidents, isn't it?
As the leopard's voice rings above, she glances up with a slight scowl, tiny tail swishing. "I'm fine," She quips smoothly, before catching glimpse of something above the leopard cub...goodness, is that another leopard cub?
"Where'd you lot all come from?" Ciyari complains in a whining tone, from a mixture of shock, annoyance, and hurt pride.

Kota watched as the other cub got up and frowned at her tone. How rude! She was the one that ran into him. He shook out one of his paws that she had so ungracefully tripped over. "What? Me? You were the one tha-" He stopped himself. More because of the noises above than because he thought it useless to argue. Another leopard? Wow, was he wrong when he thought this place was deserted. Maybe it really would be a good idea to run... but now there were three of them, instead of two. And still there was only one of him. So he stood, silent once more, to see what would happen.
