Kierla was officially disgruntled.

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! EEEEEEEEEEE!"

"I am sorry," Kierla shouted to the people around her, as they gave her irritated looks. She forced herself to ignore them, and act as if the siren in her arms was not just blowing up her eardrums. All part of a normal day, she thought to herself bitterly.

Someone behind her began to complain. "I'm sorry," she said again coldly, twisting around to give the man full impact of a steely gaze.

Aricia stopped crying.

Both Kierla and the man looked at her in surprise. Then, with a shrug, Kierla faced forward and continued on her way.

"EEEEEE! EEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Kierla turned back again. Aricia stopped her noise.

With another shrug, she began to walk back on herself. When she reached an intersection of paths, the baby immediately began her yelling. This time, however, Kierla had a clue; she rotated on the spot until the screaming ceased, and began walking forward.

The alternating silence and crying finally stopped when Kierla stepped straight into a costume shop. "GAH!" she laughed, reaching grabbing hands toward a elaborate pink gown in the window.

"Out." Xtol had repeated for the last half an hour, over and over again.
Airaka pulled the last batch of cookies from the oven. It didn't seem as if the boy would every be quiet until she agreed to his wishes. Airaka had no idea of where the two would go. She turned to attempt top convince the boy, once again, that she had no where to go, when she noted an almost tearful expression in his eyes.
"Alright, alright. Let's go."

Now the two were randomly wandering the streets, Airaka having to stop every couple steps or so to check on the boys waddling. Xtol was having quite some troubles nibbling on a cookie, walking, and watching all at the same time. His coat was heavy, forced on him by Airaka, even though it was only early fall. When Airaka turned back around, to make sure the pair wasn't walking into anyone, he would spit out the cookie on to the floor.

Airaka paused as she heard a screaming of some child. She grimaced, feeling sorry for the person, and turned to Xtol, muttering,
"At least you don't cry anymore."
Xtol blinked at her innocently, and took another bite of the cookie until Airaka turned back around.

The two continued until Airaka saw what had to be one of the cutest things in the world. A little black haired girl with red and white wings fawning over a cute dress. She reminded Airaka of a quiant princess. Airaka giggled, grinning childishly.

Xtol looked from Airaka to the girl, and yawned, looking at his hands for some cookie. Oh.. He was all out. That was sad... He turned his attention back to the little girl.
"Wand." he commanded of the girl.
Raising his white tail, he took the wand from it, holding it in his hands. He jerked dangerously, before he shoved the wand on to the ground, regaining his balance.

Airaka blinked from Xtol to the girl.
"Oh really?"
She stared at the woman holding the child worriedly. The woman didn't strike Airaka as a happy, kind person. She opened her mouth to make a comment on their names, but failed, closing her mouth, and turning away to cough.

Aricia's eyes snapped away from the gown and toward the wand.

"EEESHYEEWAAAEEEE!" she screeched. The garbled gibberish sounded almost like bawling, but the excited look on her face told otherwise.

"Aricia says she wants the wand," Kierla explained almost robotically. At least it had distracted the kid from that dress - it looked expensive.

So, another wand child? Of all the coincidences. "I am Kierla, and this is Aricia," she introduced, glad that she had a reason to not hold out a hand while holding Aricia with both arms.

Airaka turned back, whiping her upper lip, and grinned nervously,
"Pleasure to meet you. I'm Airaka. And that's Xtol."
She coughed weakly, her hands coming back up to cover her mouth, which pretty much hid the sigh the followed her coughs.

Xtol pushed himself up, his arms pushed straight up, and his bottom poking out, as he pressed down on his wand. He still couldn't reach the other child. Relaxing his position, he looked at th dark haired woman who Airaka seemed frightened of, and simply commanded,
"Down."

"Xtol," Airaka whimpered, "It's not nice to order people around."
The dragon boy gave her a passing glance, before looking back at Kierla expectantly. Airaka looked from the boy to the woman, shrugging uselessly.
"I'm sorry."

A sudden half-smile flickered in the corners of her mouth, and Kierla obeyed the little dragon tyrant with surprising benevolence.

"EEEEE," squealed Aricia again as she was set down next to Xtol. Laughing, she held out her hands for the dragon wand, demanding for it in her own babbling way. "MEEEEE! EEEEE!"

Kierla slipped some gold to a very annoyed shopkeeper, so as to be allowed to stay in the room with a screaming baby, watching the children with a bemused look in her eyes. Her lips were now, however, firmly pressed in a neutral line.

Xtol grinned at the young girl, then curled himself around, with some great difficulty, flooping on the ground opposite of Aricia. He waved the wand in front of her eyes, then pushed it into her hands, though he didn't let go. Streatching out his wings, he raised his eyes to the girl's head. A sly grin came to his face as he noted his was taller then Aricia. He didn't seem to care that he was the older one.

Airaka blinked, taking half a step back as the baby continued screaming. Even Xtol wasn't as loud as this one. Xtol had his moments of scary silence; it seemed this girl would never stop screeching. She only noted Kierla passing some gold to the shop keeper because of her new affinity to "shinies", thanks to the little boy. As she rose herself on to the balls of her feet, she wondered how often Kierla had to pay people because of the Aricia voice.

Nearly choking on her delighted giggles now, Aricia violently gripped the dragon wand as she attempted to pull it towards her. Then, with a sudden change of tactic, the chubby fingers let go and reached over her head, toward the wings. "FLYEEEEE!"

"So," Kierla said, breaking the silence (at least, the silence between the two mothers.) "I assume, looking at his wings, that he is a dragon?"
PostPosted: Sun Sep 17, 2006 6:36 pm

Xtol paused, loosening the grip on his wand. She wanted his wings now? She wanted everything. But, his wings were his, he couldn't take those off. Though he could admit that he had tried to loose the giant white things. They were kinda difficult to move with. Like, if he forgot to close them when trying to waddle into the kitchen, he usually faced some sort of trouble. And Airaka had had to cut most of his shirts so that they would work with his wings, including this giant coat he was wearing.

Xtol flapped his wings, sending waves of air, and pushing some easily moveable stuff all over the place. He gave the girl a look, making sure he was still watching his wings. The boy couldn't "flyeeeee!"... yet. So the only really impressive thing he could do with them at the moment was cause things to move with the air. He did like the attention he was giving him though, a bigger smile coming to his face.

Airaka nodded her head, stopped, then shook it. A bit of a confused expression came to her face, followed by the look people gained when they got an idea.
"Kinda. He's a wyvern.. Which is like a sub-race of dragon. But not really.... Right?"
Her final question seemed asked of no one in particular, and was rather just hanging in the air.
"What was... Aricia?"

As she watched the tumult with wide and approving eyes, Aricia felt a deep urge to bring out her wings and do the same. Oh, how she missed them! Even if she couldn't fly yet, either.

Besides, she was getting the feeling that he thought he was better than her in every aspect, and she wanted to show him she could do just as well. Hmph!

A few feathers poofed out into the air, as her wings swiftly peeked out then disappeared again.

Kierla decided to ignore the first comment as a rhetorical question, instead skipping straight to the second one. "She is a pegasus."

Then she turned a stern eye to her daughter. "Aricia," she said warningly in a quiet voice.

Xtol's yellow eyes widened in surprise. She could make her wings vanish? That was so cool! Quickly, his eyes narrowed. But he couldn't let her know that he was impressed. He curled his tail around to the front, and grabbed the wand from between their hands. Letting go of the golden wand his own hands, he waved his hands around, before placing them on his shoes. He wished he had his sword with him.

Airaka placed a finger on her lips. Pegasus.. Pegasus... Horse with wings! She looked over at Aricia. The girl didn't seem to have wi... Airaka jerked back as the wings appeared then vanished. As she recollected herself, she commented,
"Oh! That was neat... Xtol can't do that..."
Airaka moved her eyes to the wyrmling. She actually had no idea of what types of powers the boy had.

"She's grounded," Kierla said flatly. No point in explaining why; it might scare the woman off.

Then, as if trying to ease off a little, she added in a supposedly nice voice: "What can Xtol do?" Although it accidentally came out a little accusing-like.

Whining and throwing a pitiful face at her mother, Aricia resigned herself for the last day of no-wing-age.

She was quickly distracted by the wand, once again. Producing her own out of the folds of her flouncy dress, she waved it at him, knocking into his golden one.

Kierla asked the question Airaka was pondering herself. She had never seen him do anything really out of the ordinary. His appearance was different enough as it was. She shrugged her shoulders, looking back at Kierla.
"I dunno. Supposedly... He's earth element based... But he hasn't displayed any powers yet."

Xtol jerked his tail back as the girl's wand connected with his own. What was this? She was... A sense struck his mind. She was attacking him. It was his job to fight back then. He rose his hands, grabbing on to the wand, then swung his tail around, hitting her white wand with his. It took him a second, but he released her wand soon after he had it it, thus she should still get some of the attack.

Kierla suddenly envisioned DOOMAGEEARTHQUAKESOFSUPREMEDOOMAGE appearing out of nowhere, enveloping everyone in their grasp.

"That's...interesting," she pronounced carefully. Her mouth twitched.

Laughing high and clear (god, that shop keeper really was annoyed now), Aricia swung again. This kid was a bright one; he'd gotten the game almost immediately. "DAA!" she giggled as the wand came whistling through the air again.

Airaka blinked, surprised by Kierla's punctuation. Obviosuly the woman had invisioned something scary. Which... Would make sense. Xtol's a wyvern, wyverns are scary.
"Nnn..." Airaka hummed nervously, peering back at the boy.

In opposite to Aricia's giggling, Xtol was silent, and he definately didn't think of this as a game. The girl was attacking him, after all. But he had the advantage, he had an extra arm. He flicked his tail about, attempting to defend against her wand, while he pushed his hands out towards her, nudging her stomach.

Airaka's eyes widned, as she noticed the children attacking. She moved forward, wondering whether or not she should stop them. Glancing over her shoulder, she gave Kierla a worried glance. Did Aricia do this as much as she screamed.
"Maybe.. We should get them out of here? Like... Away."
She cast the shop keeper a remourseful look.

Aricia squeaked in surprise, toppling over as she felt the push to her stomach. As she sniffed remorsefully at her companion, she wagged a hand at him. "No," she said. You're only supposed to use wands! Hands and tails were cheating. That's why the game was called Wand Wars, right?

"That's a good idea." Kierla reached forward to gather Aricia back into her arms, and the baby let out a yell. It was clear that she didn't want to leave just yet.

With a barely perceptible sigh, Kierla paid a few more coins to the shop keeper. "Sorry."
