Of Paladins acting in ways that are unbecoming of the guild.
This is bad.
Here's the deal. All Paladins need to be polite. And you need to hold your tongue. A bit of humor is always appreciated, but not rudeness. Okay? We've been accused of having "double standards."
So please, work on it.

Hmmm...Really? I haven't been seeing much of this...Maybe some of us are a bi unclear on where the line is drawn. Mayb you could post an example mof something that would be becoming of the guild, but still bordering the edge, and something that would have barel crossed the line, for clarification. that might help, at least a little bit.

I've seen it and it is rather bad in some cases. I wont point out who unless asked though, I dont like being the one to point people out.
Though a solution that is easily done would be to every so often like maybe a week check the posts made by each and every person in the guild.

Rolf, I don't want to have to check up on you. You should be self monitoring.
Kiris, like I said above, use good judgement. Don't say things that could be construed as rude.

Ember Darc Rolf, I don't want to have to check up on you. You should be self monitoring. Kiris, like I said above, use good judgement. Don't say things that could be construed as rude. As much as anyone should be able to monitor themselves that sort of method can lead to problems. So being monitored by others, while more time consuming, is more efficient over all.
I'm sorry if I'm sounding rude or anything but you really cant just sit back and hope people behave themselves. They aren't going to do it, especially if they aren't getting caught. You should take a more active role in finding people causeing problems and not just keep reminding members to behave when something goes wrong and leave it at that.

See, the problem here is that some things can be completely unoffensive to one person, but seriously appal another person. While I do agree that some things are just out right wrong to say, in some cases it can be kind of unclear.

Trajedy See, the problem here is that some things can be completely unoffensive to one person, but seriously appal another person. While I do agree that some things are just out right wrong to say, in some cases it can be kind of unclear. It's rather easy to find out what would offend who ever really. Look at their posts (not the count), their age, gender, and time on Gaia. It is usually wise to check gender because some people do take avatars opposite of their gender and get bent out of shape when people refer to them incorrectly.
Usually younger people are more easily offended and become hostile or depressed. Calm and friendly posts are needed with these people links are to be used when needed.
Older people tend to have thicker skin so you can be a bit more harsh with them. Like I said you can be a bit more harsh and open with posts with older people but still remain calm or you're going to agrivate them most likly.
Newer people usually tend to overreact so you should see how they react to some posts they may have already dealt with. They also may get lost easier, especially young new people. Use calm, clear, and friendly posts. But do not condesend to them, that makes people feel inferior. When they need to be pointed somewhere be sure to provide a link.
People who have been on for awhile either tend to be more polite and open to people pointing out mistakes, or they belive them selves to be elite and will go nuts if you do. It would be wise to check on how they usually act before posting. As always calm posts are a must, also try to be clear on the point you are trying to make and do not fight back if they are hostile, it gets you no where.
Flamers of all variaties do not need to and should not be flamed in responce. Point out to them in clear, well worded posts what to and not to do. If they are completly uncontrolable mods are needed not flames and/or subtle insults.

I try to be firm with people. I rarely yell or flame. It becomes a pain when people refuse to read the stickies or ignore the subforums. Am I doin' anythin' bad, Ember Sama?

I hope I haven't said anything out of line. I try to keep it clean. I have to admit that sometimes I do pull a little joke and it is taken the wrong way, but I try to clear up any problems caused.

Yes, it's true.... Let's be nice Paladins..!
It makes me sad to see my fellows harrassing newbies for being obsessed with Kingdom Hearts... It's not their fault they like pop-games. Here's an idea: when a new Gaian posts something like 'TALS OF SYMPONEA ROXOR/S!!!!11!!', how about recommending a better game, perhaps? And recommending proper spelling. With warm words, of course. It's a good idea, methinks.
