I've only read part one, but it's better than the manga-ized version that I had been reading. Someday I'll get around to finishing the novel.

I've got the novel, it's good, I'm also working on collecting the manga, I have the first 5 volumes, it goes for 15 altogether. There's also the 2 movies that I'll get at some point off Ebay smile Overall it's pretty good.

It was originally a book (Battle Royale) written by Koushun Takami. In 2000 there was a film adaptation(Battle Royale) made and in 2003 a sequel to the first movie (Battle Royale II: Requiem) came out. It was made into a manga (Battle Royale) in 2000 by Koushun Takami and Masayuki Taguchi. A sequel to the manga series was called Battle Royale II: Blitz Royale.

@ OP: I've only got the first volume from the manga, but have watched both movies and hope to read the novel sometime. The reason I've only got the first manga is because my dad bought it for me and I'm too young to buy them on my own.

I'm currently reading it, and I love it. I haven't read the manga, but I've seen the movie, although I don't like it as much as the book.

I think my favorite part of the book would be the Chigusa/Hiroki/Kotohiki storyline, probably because I have a feeling that if I was stuck in a death game on an island, I'd spend the majority of the time looking for the guy I like. (And then they'd end up shooting me.) Lol.
