Well I just found out about the 13th death note volume and I found a site in english that I think you can pre-order it from. But the item name is DEATH NOTE HOW TO READ 13 (Limited Edition).
Does the how to read part make it any different from the actual manga?
Even though I've heard about the how to read things I'm still not actually sure what they are. >_<
Help?

I've actually bought some of the "how to read" (1-4) clippings. I don't have my camera with me and it's much too late to scan for a sample. They're short [5 pages (front and back)] collections of notes/explainations, timelines, character profiles occasionally with comments (from the creator on the character), making of info, as well as interviews with the creator. My copies are horrible since they're straight out of the anthology (print is really hard to read) I'd go for the special edition of the last volume, even if you could find a seller of the "original" clippings.

So basically the How to Read is like...the backstage scenes or specials from a movie? confused Those creator interviews would be interesting to read. A lot of insight into Death Note from those.

To be honest, special features on movies kind of bore me. Therefore, I can't really say I have much experience with those. However, they are rather short, so probably like those little glib interviews they put on DVDs...

It appears the "How to Read" is really a manga volume with a bonus goods set which includes a box for the entire set. The "how to read" volume is entirely series information (I would estimate at about 250 pages??) which even includes 4-pannel gag comics and the pilot. The package also comes with super creepy finger puppets ala Near and a laminated set for said creepy puppets.
