Here we go again. The traddional Memorial Day Race fest. As we know that on sunday we have a total of 1100 miles of racing going on Sunday morining to afternoon is the Indianapolis 500. Sunday evening will be the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Speedway in Charolte, North Carolina. I wonder if some Nascar driver will pull off the daily double (both Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600) this year?

who knows some might. Who do you hope to win the Coca-Cola 600? I hoping Kasey wins. Remember last year he could have won if the tire didn't blow. heart I'm happy he on his first race. And now hopefully he'll make the 2nd one here at Lowe's. That would be twice in a row.

Nope, nobody is doing all 1100 miles this year whee

Still, the Indy 500 was exciting, Dankia Patrick being the first woman to lead the Indy 500, and she even came close to winning it surprised .She had to drive conservative to save fuel though...

I felt a bit sorry for the winner though, Danika was getting more attention than he was.

1) Nobody can do the 1100 mile weekend due to timing constraints. They pushed back the Indy 500 start time making it IMPOSSIBLE to do all 1100 miles without being cloned.

2) Danica did her best, and it was her rookie attempt. There will be other years. Dale Jr. never won his first Daytona 500, now did he?

3) Danica sold the Indy 500 this year, Tony Kanaan even said it at the post-qualifying dinner that Danica would be more interesting than the race itself.

Wow... that 600... what a mess. Record 22 cautions. And I was sooo hoping Bobby would beat Jimmie to the line. sad Bobby was pissed after the race too...rightfully so. He was soooo close.

I still can't believe that wreckfest... the race was anything BUT boring tonight!

1) I know that. however, Major Ursa asked the question in the first post so I answered it.

2) You make it sould like I was overly dissapoined. Maybe the "....." and the end of the sentence threw you off. As much as people hoped she was going to win, there was little chance that she would pull it off, and I was well aware of that. However, it looked like she had a chance at the end. A very slim one, but a chance nontheless. But it's not that big a deal.

3) You're right. Danica was big news this year. However, I would be a little dissapointed if I won the Indy 500 and the driver who finished 4th was getting the lion's share of attention (Just a little though, since I would have just won the Indy 500)

This years Coca-Cola 600 did look like a streched out version of any Talladega race before the advent of restrictor plates. This Sunday was day of comming close to victory only to be disapointed. But at least at Charollte, the winner was not overshadowed. Eventhough Danica was the best performing woman in the race at Indy, ther press should have show some sportsmanship by giving more time to the winner. It could go either way.
