So, if you haven't heard, here's the latest on the Wii:

* Released Nov. 19 in North America for $249.99 USD.

* Besides the console, the package also includes one Wii-mote and Nunchuck, and Wii Sports.

* ~25 game launch line up. Includes Zelda and Excitetruck!

* Fully backwards compatible with Gamecube.

* NES games will cost $5, SNES $8, and N64 $10 to download - all USD and purchased with "Wii Points".

* Wii channels include such things as local weather, news, older game purchases, and a place to create a personal avatar. Can connect to the internet with the Opera browser (purchased with Wii Points). You can upload photos to the Wii via an SD card.

* Additional Wii-mots will be $40 and Nunchucks $20

* all 530 Gamecube games available from day one.

* I'm not sure on the number of NES/SNES/N64 games at launch, but we can expect 10 new ones per month after that.

I was just about to post this information.
Thanks for saving me the trouble, Zahm! xd

I think some of the released info is pretty cool.
Apparently you can also upload videos and watch them from the Wii (so I've heard). 3nodding

I haven't found that yet, but it would make sense. Along the same lines as pictures off the SD card I would guess.

This all sounds like good news but the VC idea is a bit flawed, they are kept only in the system's 512 mb memory ._. I would have loved to have at least 5 gigs of memory for games (like I do now more or less except for MAME).

Does it not take SD cards? Couldn't you save your game on there as well?

Yeah now I read it, I had thought the SD cards were just for gamesaves on Wii games xd

BOO-URNS

Well, That kinda does suck, even 5gigs (which is considered minuscule by todays standards) would be fine for tons of nes roms. But, as long as the info is saved to the Wii, that mean SOMEONE will hack it. I'll be ready.

Then that would be great biggrin Ironically it was the ability to hack that made the PSP sell well (and a part for Dreamcast and Xbox)

The hacking is what ruined the Dreamcast! Thanks to the guys at Echelon, of course. They pirated every single game for the DC!

I thought it was more the fact that they pulled the plug on the Dreamcast in Japan? Plus I used it for NES and MSX emulation razz

LOL. I might be as well depending on how well the first few months are. I gotta see to believe wink Besides the first few months I'll take to catch up on my collection of my older systems. Then when the supply is stable, and all bugs are worked out, I'll be sure to get it whee

Yeah but bugs and Nintendo don't go together and the fact that you can play all Gamecube games on it, it's like buy two systems!

And Zelda! Frecking Zelda! xd
