Character Name: Genevieve Harris, "Jenny"

Character Appearance: Sallow-skinned, with limp blonde hair and washed out blue eyes, she generally appears sickly. She wears turtleneck sweaters with leggings and slippers, tying up her hair into a tight bun to give the illusion of neatness. Her weak muscles and diminuitive figure prevent her from wheeling herself around on her on, so she usually relies on other people or a battery-powered scooter to get around.

Character Background and Personality: Now twisted and bitter, Jenny was once a normal, active and well-liked individual. She was not beautiful, she was pretty; she was not a genius, she was merely posessed of a mean sort of intelligence- and this median, this average made her the apple of her parent's eye. Named Genevieve affectionately after the Saint, the girl was sufficently dull and lacking in character that she was widely considered a good and 'safe' friend; a trusted confidant. She was a listener and a follower. Everyone else's ideas were good ideas to her, like a lamb, meek and innocuously innocent. Her mother and father, Geoff and Gail Harris, were outstanding members of the community, heavily involved in the Catholic church in their hometown of Norfolk, Virginia. Thus Genevieve was naturally devout, a trait that added bravery, selflessness, and a certain class to her already agreeable persona.

However, all saints are sacrificed. In her sophomore year Jenny was diagnosed with a crippiling case of Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy. The only known treatment was a special drug developed by the pharmacutical company Feral Labs, rumored to perform extensive stem cell research in it's various international facilities. Genevieve championed her beliefs and refused treatment. Over the next two years the disease ravaged her body, leaving her bound to a wheelchair for the rest of her life. Half of her face sagged uselessly and she had to have people cart her around, as she was as weak as a kitten. No one didn't know what to make of it; it was tragic and made them uncomfortable. Heroines were supposed to be beautiful, not mangled, forgotten shells. Some went out of their way to be kind, inviting her everywhere they went, patronizing her and chiding others for imagined ridicule. Others simply avoided her, as if her disease was catching- how could they meet those eyes peering out of that sunken, wretched face?

And, as people do, her dearest friends and relatives slowly stopped blaming themselves for their self-inflicted akwardness. She got so much special treatment. They worked so hard for her, and she wouldn't even give as much as a 'thank you kindly'. Soon the get well messages stopped flowing, the phone stopped ringing, and people refused to so much as share a room with her. She was utterly, utterly alone. It was a state she had never experienced in her life, and it was frightening. She could no longer follow the to and fro of the crowd- her herd of supporters had abandoned her. She was physically impotent, powerless, vulnerable- and terrified.

The next four years saw her in and out of psych wards, doctor's offices and pharmacies as her distanced family continued to pour money into her medical treatments, which now not only included her muscular disorder but also anxiety, depression and panic attacks. It came to a point where she could not be left at home, her fear of being alone having achieved an all time high.

It was then that Genevieve discovered her talent. Unable to send her mentally unstable daughter to college, her distraught mother began a work-at-home program, where she designed pamphlets and advertisments for the local church community. Genevieve hed read them all before; they were practically bedtime stories for her, but she had never actually imagined their creation. One day her mother, noting her interest, suggested that she design one herself. That evening, hands shaking, Genevieve wrote her first pamphlet, a deragatory peice on the well-known pharmacutical company Feral Labs. She implanted in it all her fear, her loathing, her pain from those long, lonely years with her illness. She called down fire and brimstone, with half-suggestions, half-accusations that said enough without saying anything at all. It was not brilliant, it was sufficient. It was not factual, it was eccentric; it was not reasonable or balanced, it foamed at the mouth. It was hatred in its purest, most malign form- she blamed them for her incapacitation, she blamed them for her inconsitencies; she blamed them for her body's slow and painful decay.

It was of course not an instant success. Many viewed it intially as just a rabid attempt at journalism, though a few of the more extremist readers were moved greatly. But she did not stop there. She continued her attack, learning things like subelty and tact, learning the proper use of weapons such as sacrasm and exaggeration. Being a crowd-pleaser was ingrained - the skill for writing took some time to develop, but her natural aptitude at feeling and becoming part of the heartbeat of society became her greatest asset.

Soon she was viewed as a true martyr - she allowed her body to die for the sake of protesting the evils of stem cell research and other forms of genetic testing. She said no, when it would have been so easy to say yes. She let her body become a pitiful shell of what it once was. She took her war not just to Feral Labs but to the doorstep of every company known for posessing more liberal mindsets.

User ImageWhat Animal Serum do you want?: Katahdin Ewe, of the black variety. These sheep are known to be hardy, docile, and well-muscled. They are not a wool-bearing sheep due to cross breeding with the haired African species. Katahdins are first and foremost a meat sheep and are grazers, their thin coats and excellent temperment making them extremely cost-efficient. Occassionally individuals of the specie are born with horns but this is generally discouraged and bred out.

As muscle control and development may be an issue, sheep spines are remarkably similar to that of a human's. The less transformation in that area, the easier the physical therapy will be.

The ewe's distinctively docile and fairly unintelligent mind should also greatly effect Jenny's disagreeable demeanor, rendering her obedient and 'meek as a lamb'.

And for those with tastes for the unusually cruel, it would be interesting to see how the more predatory hybrids react to a prey figure.

Describe your ideal 100% appearance: A nearly non-morphic Katahdin ewe, black in color. She will be kind, calm, and docile, and will have regained full range of motion. Her skin will have reverted to a dark brown to black in color, and she will have only three digits remaining on each hand, enough to still hold a pen. Her body will be covered in a thick fur that sheds itself during the hotter seasons. Her ears dangle from the sides of her face in the way of a bovine creature. Her muscles are far more powerful than she had had prior to her disease, as Katahdin descend from the powerful sheep bred in Africa. Due to her now docile and obedient nature she is ideal for menial tasks and hard labor. She would probably be put to good use in construction, transport, and agricultural tasks. When not instructed to do anything she has a tendency to laze about and 'graze'. The legendary stupidity of sheep as a whole will have made it's mark; her middling intellect has been whittled down to a clean simplicity. She can understand most commands and speaks in short, disjointed sentences. It is poetic justice in its most artful form, something that only the genius Dr. Moreau and his talented staff could achieve.

How does your Character get to/why was your character chosen for the Island? While it is obvious from Dr. Moreau's previous experiments that regenerating and replacing muscle tissue would not be a difficult task using his unique serum technique, her case presents the difficulty that muscles are primarily controlled subconciously, and hers have not been in use for many years. Also, some of the damaged tissue is concentrated in her face, a highly senstive area. On top of all that, he will face the additional challenge of teaching a wheelchair-bound woman to walk on cloven hooves. This, coupled with her anxiety issues, makes for a very interesting case. Would the docile traits of the ewe also carry over in the transformation? After all, it stands to reason that the personality would be greatly affected, as Katahdin ewes were bred to be gentle. As part of her condition she also suffers many cardiac deficiences. Again, the Katahdin sheep were bred to be hardy so this should not present a problem, but the exact effect developing muscles and organs belonging to a completely different species would be fascinating. As the Katahdin sheep are muscular and fairly stupid, he might even be able to put Jenny to work, her increased power and obedience making her ideal for tasks involving any amount of heavy lifting.

On top of that he has a perfectly legitimate reason to invite to the island with no excuses necessary. As a formal apology to the Catholic Church and as a sign of good will, accepting her as a patient and an overseer at some unnamed overseas facility would not seem suspicious. Also, without her striking physical prescence much of her popularity would die down- whatever popularity that had not been crushed by her sudden alliance with the notorious company.
