This stage requires some minimal RP. Obviously you have had to have met with Shanuh (or one of the other store managers) to have recieved your Bird. Depending what you might have learned at that stage, you might be wondering what the hell you've gotten yourself into, or you might not care at all.
Requirements I hope to see before growth will be AT LEAST:
- Feeding logged in your journal
- One journal entry after recieving your bird; your thoughts, your concerns, your feelings, etc. etc.
- One RP with myself, or another Companion/Guardian to get a smidge of their personality down.
The more I know about the Bird before I grow, the more accurate their childhood picture will look.
Child to Teen
This stage will happen when I feel your child has enough development AND character interraction with others. Some might grow quicker than others, depending how much tender-loving-care you've given your guardian AND the shop. They can't very well develop if you don't even know who or what they're like as a child! Interraction is key at this stage, so by all means, let the RPing begin!
The least amount of work I will require before they change will be as follows:
- At least 3 RP's (logged in the journal) with another Guardian/Companion
- Asked for AND completed Quests
- At least two additional journal entries
- At least one magic RP in the Shop
Remember, these are the least amount of work. I always enjoy people going above and beyond. Furthermore, just because you've accomplished all of these steps, don't expect your character to change overnight. Depending how active you have been, depending how much substance you post in your journal, and depending if I feel your character is ready for growth, only THEN will I grow your child.
It's not a "playing favorites" game, it really just comes down to activity. If you're active and have hung around the shop, chances are, you're not going to have to worry.
Teen to Adult
- At least 10 RP's (logged in the journal) with another Guardian
- At least 6 additional journal entries from the boys point-of-view, the subject can be anything
- At least 2 Journal Entries with your Companion as the subject
- At least 1 RP/Story including your Companion
- Attend AT LEAST 5 Group Class RP's in the Shop
- Ask for/Complete Quests
- TEACH at least one magic lesson to upcoming children
- Complete 5 Magic Lessons in the individual threads
- Find a job (aka get hired by Shanuh)
- Complete two different "Guest Rp's"
Sounds like a lot of work? You bet your a** it is. As you can see, this stage's main focus is magic. That's right - MAGIC. Abilities will be learned/gained as they characters grow. They can't be proper "faucets of death" if they don't know how to embrace their abilities and truly learn the art of killing. There is still focus on relationships among the other guardians of death, and (what fun) you actually get to KILL things. And (what's even more fun) RP it out with guest-players!
Remember, even if you get all of these things completed, there is still no way to know when your Guardian is going to grow. It just means they're (probably) developed enough TO grow, but ultimately, I grow them when I feel so inclined. So no hassling me if you complete the requirements and your teenager hasn't grown. That'll just make me spiteful and angry and you'll have to wait even longer before they progress to the next stage.
