I know a few authors online and one of them is getting their second book published. Presently, he is looking for somebody to do cover art for the fantasy novel so if you are up for the challenge, he might be able to give you something in reward for your efforts.
Matthew Wayne Selznick runs his own web server and designs website when he isn't working on his writing and the promotion of his first novel Brave Men Run. He released the podcast version of Brave Men Run under a Creative Commons Developing Nations licence as well and is well worth checking out if and when you get the chance.

Also, a friend named Thomas Moore is slowly releasely a podcast novel of his novel Seeds of the Machina and has put out the open call for individuals to add their novel-inspired drawings and artwork to the project. It is sort of like Final Fantasy X and features some nice characters.
Seeds of the Machina Author Tee Morris has added his interest in having his novel Morevi: The Chronicles of Rafe and Askana made into an anime/manga production so make sure that you check out that one out as well. His website can be located at
Tee Morris The podcast can be found at podiobooks.
All three are available via subscription at podiobooks, a website that features a number of neat audiobooks.
