I decided to make a little fish journal thing on here so that you guys would know what your guild owner was up to and all of that. Also, I figured as long as I keep adding to the journal then my guild will never die. So..in my random community tank (cherry barbs, pearl gouramis, corys, rasboras) The pearl gouramis were fighting for a while but they seem to have gotten over it. Last week (or maybe the week before) the 2 male cherry barbs staked out their teritory for mating and had lots of little mock battles, noone got hurt and it was fun to watch. Now they've began to chase the females around the tank and try to get them to mate, sometimes they accidently chase my rasboras on accident lol. But, i've only seen one male getting any action, him and a female have followed eachother around the little forest (where he wont let any other fish go) and another time he was following a female around a plant that is used to hide an air stone. I haven't seen any eggs or babies but I love watching males shimmy around the tank. Also, one of my rasboras has a little neon stripe now which none of the others have, I think they are going to mate soon too. Well, if I'm lucky i'll have some baby fish soon lol and I'm also considering adding more rasboras to the tank.

I've been planning out my new 55g tank for quite some time and I've finaly decided to have a Malawi Mbuna Cichlid tank, these fish have verry vibrant collors and breed easily. Hopefuly I'll get the rocks for the tank by this weekend and I'm ordering special gravel offline that is supposed to be enriched with good bacteria. I will also be making "under gravel jets" to add circulation to the tank, and it is also supposed to make it so that I NEVER have to clean my gravel. It'll be a nice little DIY experience and if it doesnt work out like that it will still add current and extra filtration to the tank.

My snake recently upgraded his housing so I was left with a leaky 10g tank, it took 4 days to seal and 2 3oz tubes of silicon but it doesn't leak any more (and with all that silicon it never will). I also made a little shelf for the tank and my girlfriends 10g tank (which is kept at my house) it sits below my new 55g since it came with a wire stand.

My girlfriend had a pretty tough run in with ich lately and lost her 2 pregnant platties, she still has a male guppy (which has lived through the deaths of 10 fish at least) but has decided to take a break from live bearers and is getting a goldfish, After her guppy has been quarintined for a few weeks it will go in my tank so she can turn her tank into a coldwater habitat. She's also going to add White Clouds, but they will probably get eaten when the goldfish grows up (sad but true).

As you can see I've been pretty busy lately, and this is just what I've done in my spare time. This will probably be the biggest post I make in this topic, but trust me, I'll have something to share with you guys at least every week.

We're having a huge garage sale next weekend, everyone on our whole street has one and its advertised in the news paper. I'm planing on selling my PSP and maybe my DS ther and I might sell my basses with this money I was considering buying this fish tank up by my sisters that has all the decorations and everything, even fish. It comes with a really nice set of lights but I think its for salt water not fresh, I have to look into it. Anyways it all depends on how well it goes, too bad none of you live near Cincinnati Ohio

I'm going to buy some rocks for my 55g malawi cichlid tank today. hopefuly I'll find some nice rocks and limestone. I'm gunna get limestone to help raise the PH in the tank and keep it at a higher Ph, but I also want to have smooth stones in the tank so IDK how everything will work out. I'm not gunna buy that tank by my sisters now though, might get an oscar tank if I make enough money at the yard sale. Hopefuly my counselor will call me monday about getting a job (I'm home schooled..kinda). Anyways, if I don't get a job soon then I'm guna just save the garage sale mony for like going to movies and stuff

Almost done laying out my cave setup, -part time ninja- came over and helped too and I bought a powerhead to make under gravel jets but I dont think its powerful enough stressed It's pretty strong but the guy that originaly told me how to make the jets said to use one thats like 3x stronger so I might be screwed crying anyways, I have to go spend "quality time" before my gf goes home lol c ya

well, I ordered a second pump and got all the pvc and everthing, the egg crate is already in the tank but I'm still trying to figure out the pvc setup.

I order my other pump from Drsfostersmith.com and like 4 20lb bags of sand + some other stuff I needed for my other animals (dogs, cats, snakes, birds) and the shiping was only $16 and it will be here by tuesday which is sweet. The only thing that sucked was I was gunna get this "aquarium reminder" thing that beeped when it was time to clean your tank or turn out your lights lol but they were out of stock, it came with a kit but they took the price off so it was ok I guess

I considered taking pics of the whole process, but lugging around that camera would suck (it uses flopy discs!) anyways, after measuring and cutting my under gravel jet system it only took maybe an hour to put together, I'm just waiting for the other pump to show up in the mail and the tank will be finnished ^_^ (besides adding fish and whatnot)

waiting on my stuff from drsfostersmith.com....it should be here by tuesday but untill I get it there's nothing else to do lol Anyways, after being bored i started messing with my UGJs (under gravel jets) and I blew into the spot for the new pump to see how hard it was and I could smell the primer. It should have all cured by now so IDK maybe I put too much on and not all of it had a chance to dry, but I was worried that it might not all have dried up in the tube. So, I figured if I ran air through the tube it would dry up so I took my air pump for this tank and fed the air tube into the piping just far enough so that it wouldn't come back out the way it came in. It worked, but only for half of the setup, so I took off the other pump and fed the tubing through there and let it run over night

Well, the stuff from drsfostersmith.com showed up friday, the sand made the water so cloudy (it was supposed to though) but now the water is crystal clear and the tank is completely set up. It looks great, I snapped a photo, I'll uploaded it later today for all to see

well, here's the new tank. I might be getting some fish today depending on what my lfs has in stock. I"m going to get a total of 16 fish when I'm done and it will consist of yellow labs, yellow tail acei, saulosi and afra. I might redo the rockwork though, try to end up with more caves and whatnot

XD I got 2 yellow labs yesterday, they didn't have much in stock where I went, but I'm going to another store today (to turn in a job app lol) they tried to mate last night but I think they're too young and cant figure it out lol
